Sunshine Bread commercial

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Ewan MacGregor and Alan Tern

This is a special favor for the fans of Elvinology fanclub... due to uploading problems in Youtube, I have decided to upload the much-requested Sunshine Bread commercial (featuring Elvin Ng of course!) in my blog instead, since it's much easier and faster, not to forget less troublesome. Enjoy! ;-)

Very funny Mas Selamat games and pictures!!

It's been one month already and Singapore's Most Wanted Mas Selamat still has not been found yet... bleddy hell, what is going on??? Ever since that CBK's escape from Whitley Detention Center on 27th February, our lives have been changed for better or worse. Mas Selamat has been featured in several YouTube videos, e-mails, customized posters, on websites like Facebook and T-shirts...
And even in a Pac Man-like game created by the guys on TalkingCock.com!! Whoever created the game Pac-Mat is a genius with a crude sense of humor!! The Deputy PM and Minister for Home Affairs, Mr Wong Kan Seng is included in the game... even PM Lee Hsien Loong and MM Lee Kuan Yew have not been spared!! I couldnt stop laughing xiah... :-D

To play the game, go to this link... http://www.talkingcock.com/html/games/pacmat.html

Have a good laugh and enjoy the game!! ;-p

Oh my gawd, I just found out he's even got his very own Wikipedia page!! :-O

And do check out these extremely hilarious pictures!!! Just try to be sure that you don't hurt your ribs from all that laughter...

Stardust Semi-finals

This was how the Stardust semi-finals (not the movie starring Michelle Pfeiffer and Claire Danes) on Friday went...

I left the house at around 1 pm, took a bus to Bugis (another hot babe sat next to me!) and had my lunch at BK. After which I took a train to Clementi and went on a rather absurd journey to NUS (which I shan’t go into detail)… I managed to locate the Central Library Forum at 5 pm, and there was da stage for the Stardust Finals. And yes, Jasmine was there already!! The moment she saw me, I just froze and couldn’t stop blushing! Still as cute and sweet as ever! At abt 5.50 pm, Uncle Joe and family arrived, as did his church friends. Gerald and Joshua came soon after. So good to see Grace and Joan again… nearly wanted to pinch the xiao mei mei’s cheeks :-p

First off was the solo category, the more interesting part. Imagine my surprise when I found out that Jay Lim (another SI finalist!) was one of the judges! There were 24 solo contestants in all. Jasmine was second last. Some of them sang really well, a few of them were just too pitchy, and some are just too plain and forgettable.

S01 Paige Gan Min was quite sweet in terms of looks and voice, but she needed to gain more weight.

S02 Lester Teo was kinda pitchy, reminded me a little of that horrid LTD finalist Victor Khoo.

S03 Krystal Kuah was one of the stronger contenders, displaying a powerful voice for Alicia Keys' "If I Ain't Got You".

S04 Inch Chua was damn cuuuute, strumming on guitar and singing Jackson 5’s “I Want You Back”. Yes, that song performed by Michael Jackson when he was still a kid, way before he mutated into a white woman in the 1990s.

S05 Natri sang a nearly pitch-perfect Chinese song!

S06 Jerome Mak... forgot name of song, but he did quite ok.

S07 Tai Jie Rou... quite a forgettable performance.

S08 Mao Meng Ying... sang a Chinese song, quite a safe one here.

S09 Natasha Theresa Gray... urgh, vocals sound way too 'forced'.

S10 Farhan Shah was just bland and horrid, much worse than S02. The moment he knelt down, I was going, "alright, that's it man".

S11 Tan Yan Rong was way too similar to Jasmine in terms of personality and looks, her voice was just as powerful too.

S12 Tao Jing’s dancing and skimpy outfit did little to conceal her mediocre singing. Too much like a lounge singer, really.

S13 Lincoln Luk sang a Chinese song while strumming on the guitar.

S14 Andrew Sophian Putra sang “Bridge Over Troubled Waters” while playing on the keyboards.

S15 Fiona Teo (a former FHM Girl Next Door finalist, I checked) had a figure as happening as the Mediacorp Princess of the same name. Performance quite ok too.

S16 Kelvin Ong charmed the audience away with “Moondance”.

S17 Tay Ke Xin, another sweetie, charmed her way into guys’ hearts with a Chinese song.

S18 Tay Yinxue displayed strong vocals, but totally screwed up the most important lyrics for “Against All Odds” (Phil Collins and Mariah Carey won’t be so pleased)!

S19 Joel Koh got the crowd clapping along to “Sweet Home Alabama”.

S20 Rohasliza growled her way into Evanescence’s “Call Me When You’re Sober”… her rock angst persona reminds me too much of SI 2 rocker chic Rahima Rahim (who had migrated to Malaysia along with whole family???).

S21 Chew Yue Yin... vocals were just as bad as her dress sense, she looked like she just woke up.

S22 Jasen Matthew Bell sang another Jackson 5 song “I’ll Be There” (again sung by MJ long before his bad karma days), and boy everyone liked it.

S23 is none other than Jasmine (finally!!), she sang a Chinese song! Hearing her powerful voice made me think back on the good ol’ SI days… sorry if I'm being rather biased in uploading more pics of Jas here, but she's the main reason why I went for the Stardust thingy... :-)

S24, last solo contestant was Shaiful Hakim, whose rendition of “She Will Be Loved” was nowhere as brilliant as the original sung by Adam Levine!

Then at 2005 hrs came the loud and draggy (and rather boring) Band category… 15 bands in all!! With the sounds of the drums and electric guitars threatening to ‘melt’ my brain, I decided to go to one corner and have a chat with Gerald, Joshua and Uncle Joe. For the next 1 hour or so, we chatted mostly about the other talent competitions and music careers. Here are some pictures I took during the band category (not all of them btw).

The band performance finally ended at around 2155 hrs… then came the results for both solo and group categories. Of course Jasmine advanced to the finals… but then I was a bit sad that some of the better singers failed to get in. Before I left the place, I managed to take picture with cutie Jasmine and her dad. Then I took Bus 151 all the way back home.

And oh, I just found out that SI 2 semi-finalist Meryl Joan Lee happened to be a student in NUS too!! I had absolutely no idea about that… but it's certainly not hard to recognize the doll-faced beauty (who's lost the baby fat liao), who was one of the committee members of the competition. :-p

Song to dedicate before Stardust

Today is the semi-finals for the Stardust competition... Jasmine is involved in it!! I can't wait to see her (and family) again... I hope she gets selected to the next round! This song I dedicate to the cutie pie as well as the usual Princesses... and also to that very hot babe who sat next to me in the bus on Tuesday afternoon...!! :-p

"THIS LOVE"- Maroon 5

I was so high I did not recognize
The fire burning in her eyes
The chaos that controlled my mind
Whispered goodbye and she got on a plane
Never to return again
But always in my heart

This love has taken its toll on me
She said Goodbye too many times before
And her heart is breaking in front of me
I have no choice cause I won't say goodbye anymore
Woahh... woahh... woahh woahh

I tried my best to feed her appetite
Keep her coming every night
So hard to keep her satisfied
Kept playing love like it was just a game
Pretending to feel the same
Then turn around and leave again, oh oh oh

This love has taken its toll on me
She said Goodbye too many times before
And her heart is breaking in front of me
I have no choice cause I won't say goodbye anymore
Woahh... woahh... woahh woahh

I'll fix these broken things
Repair your broken wings
And make sure everything's alright
My pressure on your hips
Sinking my fingertips
Into every inch of you
Cause I know that's what you want me to do

This love has taken its toll on me
She said Goodbye too many times before
And her heart is breaking in front of me
I have no choice cause I won't say goodbye anymore

This love has taken its toll on me
She said Goodbye too many times before
And my heart is breaking in front of me
She said Goodbye too many times before, woah oh

This love has taken its toll on me
She said Goodbye too many times before
And her heart is breaking in front of me
I have no choice cause I won't say goodbye anymore

Watching a movie at the newly-improved Leisure Park

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Umaga and Dann Koh

Leisure Park had undergone a new look since late last year... it looks very different from the old brownish look, and is much more spacious. There was a cinema located upstairs too! And it was there that I decided to watch a movie, seeing that I still had time to spare before the Maroon 5 concert...

"Be Kind Rewind", an American comedy film directed by Michel Gondry, stars Jack Black, Mos Def, Danny Glover, Melonie Diaz and Mia Farrow... it even features a cameo by the very tall (1.83 m!!!) Sigourney Weaver (best known as Ellen Ripley in the Alien Quadrilogy). The title of the film is a reference to a phrase commonly displayed on VHS rental tapes during the medium's heyday.

Mike (Mos Def) is working at a declining VHS rental store called Be Kind Rewind in Passaic, New Jersey. Mike's best friend Jerry (Black), a nuclear activist who lives in a trailer, accompanies Mike while he works at the video store. Mike is fascinated by the story that Fats Waller, the legendary jazz musician, was born in the very store (according to the store's owner, Mr. Fletcher). Fletcher (Glover) is informed by Passaic town officials that his store is scheduled to be demolished and replaced with a new building complex, unless he can raise funds to renovate his building. Mr. Fletcher decides to get ideas on how to increase business by spying on a successful chain of DVD rental stores. He puts Mike in charge of Be Kind Rewind while he is away, but warns him to keep Jerry out of the store.

Jerry attempts to sabotage a power plant that he believes is 'melting his brain'. When his plan goes awry, the magnetic field around his body caused by the nuclear reactor accidentally erases all of the videotapes in the video store!! Fearing that the mishap will cost Mike his job, the two friends team up to keep the store's only loyal customer - a little old lady (Farrow) with a tenuous grasp on reality - from realising what has happened by recreating and re-filming every movie that she decides to rent!

Jerry and Mike then enlist the help of a pouty-lipped woman named Alma (Diaz) to help them remake "Rush Hour 2". Alma helps to demagnetize Jerry by making him drink a bucket of salty water, which leads him to urinate in the streets, causing the magnetism to be expelled from his body via the urine. The trio then go on to create a system where customers come to request movies "sweded" (the process of Mike and Jerry's efforts to recreate their erased videos). Business begins to pick up as the sweded videos are in high demand and eventually the local townspeople become involved in the swedeing process. Mike and Jerry propose to Mr. Fletcher to use the increased revenue to fund the renovation of the store. However, two court bailiffs arrive at the store and plan to sue them for copyright violation. They confiscate the tapes, and crush them with a road roller. To add to their misery, Mike discovers from Mr. Fletcher that Fats Waller was not actually born in the store.

Jerry realizes that they can still make original films, and with support of the town, he goes to a depressed Mike for ideas. Mike conjures up the idea to make a movie based on the fictional life of Fats Waller. The entire town, Mr. Fletcher included, creates the movie using a re-written history of the man created by the townspeople.

Overall, I think this film is really interesting and creative... I give it 4 out of 5 stars. Those who want to relive the good old days of VHS tapes should watch this film. ;-)

Pictures of Maroon 5 concert

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Ikmal, Magdalene and Naomi Low
Man I tell you, the response at the Maroon 5 concert last night was simply OVERWHELMING!!! The stadium was about 95% full... and there was madness plus excitement everywhere. Let me start off from the very beginning...

This is the ticket I purchased last month...

These are the Maroon 5 CDs i have...

And this is the shirt that came free with the second album. Too tight for me though...

I had rather late lunch at McDonald's, then I took Bus 80 to Kallang area... and partly due to the fact that a very hot babe sat next to me, I missed the stop opposite the Lorong Geylang bus terminal!!! DOHHHHH... I had to walk quite a distance from that stop that I dropped off from through some construction area to the bus terminal... and when I reached the Indoor Stadium, I realized that I had indeed arrived too early!!! So at the last minute, I decided to go to Leisure Park and watch a movie titled "Be Kind Rewind"... interesting show on declining VHS tapes, I must say (check Thursday's entry for more info on the film).

So the movie ended at around 1710 hrs, and I went to have dinner at KFC... after which I made my way to the Indoor Stadium... at abt 1750 hrs, I saw a familiar-looking guy smoking at the loading bay area, then he went inside... I decided to wait a while more...

Then that guy came out again at abt 1830 hrs... IT'S MATT FLYNN THE DRUMMER!! I had no idea he was the earliest to arrive (or maybe the rest were inside already)... he approached us and signed on our booklets... I got his signature on the Maroon 5 IWBSBL booklet... :-)

I saw the "Indoor Stadium Mao" again (last time I saw her was when I went to watch the WWE Smackdown show last July)... she's still as lazy as ever, lying down on some concrete slates and staring into blank space, and not doing anything. Typical feline...

At 1910 hrs, I decided that I had enough of waiting, and went into the stadium itself. Along the way, I saw Glenn Ong and Jamie Yeo there. The T-shirts at the merchandising store inside the stadium were sold at $35 each... but I so not going to buy any of them. Besides, I already have the "It Won't Be Soon Before Long" t-shirt (see picture at start of this entry), and I'm already contented with what I have. :-)

Each seat has a plastic 'hand' that can be waved about during the show, as well as some card with a number on the lower right hand corner. Whatever the case is, I doubt I'm gonna win the $2,800 from the 987 show... I mean come on, there are about 8000 people in attendance, how to win? The odds are 800000000 to 1.

This was the attendance at 1925 hrs when i entered the stadium...

This was the attendace at 2020 hrs... 10 minutes before the concert started.

The lights went out at 2030 hrs, signifying that the concert was about to start!! Loud screams everywhere...

Matt started beating on the drums, and that furious rhythm could only mean one thing... "HARDER TO BREATHE"!!! :-D

List of songs performed...

  1. Harder To Breathe (1st album)
  2. Makes Me Wonder (2nd album)
  3. If I Never See Your Face Again (2nd album)
  4. The Sun (1st album)
  5. Can't Stop (2nd album)
  6. Nothing Lasts Forever (2nd album)
  7. Shiver (1st album)
  8. Wake Up Call (2nd album)
  9. Sunday Morning (1st album)
  10. Won't Go Home Without You (2nd album)
  11. This Love (1st album)
  12. Little Of Your Time (2nd album)
  13. She Will Be Loved (1st album)

People were literally screaming everytime Adam broke into a Barry Gibb-like falsetto and spoke like a middle-aged woman (no offence!). Not to be outdone by one voice, James and Jesse lent their voices for some of the songs. And I cannot stand the two guys sitting next to me... they cannot dance well to the beat of the songs!! I just did my own thing and 'strummed on the guitar furiously' like Adam, James or Mickey.

The guys gathered together and bade everyone farewell, signifying the end of the concert... at 2145 hrs??? Bleah, no encore at all... I was expecting it to end by 10 pm latest. And yeah, everyone had a hard time coming out of the stadium. I straightaway headed to the loading bay region to wait for the band members to come out...

First person to come out was ADAM!!! Immediately the fans (mostly gals) packed like sardines and i was caught in the midst of them... yet I managed to snap a crystal clear picture of Adam!! I tell you, he is really HAWT!! :-p

Up next was Mickey, but the flash and aperture of my camera failed on me again. And although James wanted to approach us, the security guards wouldnt let him do so. Yet the van containing Mickey and James (NOT the WWE Diva) had a hard time driving out into the main road... just check out the huge traffic at the parking lot region!!

Jesse and Matt took rather long to come out, so I just left the place soon after... and headed back home. I'm really glad I went for the concert... could have been a bit longer though :-)

Stay tuned videos of 3 songs I recorded during the concert!!

Information on Maroon 5 members

Here's information on all the members of Maroon 5!! :-)

Maroon 5 lead vocalist and guitarist Adam Noah Levine was born on March 18, 1979, in Los Angeles, California. He began playing music with junior-high friends guitarist Jesse Carmichael and bassist Mickey Madden under the influence of groups like Nirvana and Pearl Jam, and after the final 1994 addition of Ryan Dusick on drums, the alternative rock band Kara's Flowers were born. The quartet scored a record deal with Reprise, released a mediocre album, and was released from its contract all in a matter of years. Following the termination of its deal, the band went on hiatus and Levine headed to New York with Carmichael to attend Five Towns College on Long Island. While there, he was exposed to a whole new music scene and absorbed new influences like hip-hop, soul, gospel, and R&B that changed Levine's whole perspective on songwriting, even altering the way in which he sang -- from a deeper, grunge-inspired delivery to a higher and more expressive one. Levine and Carmichael dropped out of school after a semester and headed back to California rejuvenated and inspired to add a new groove-based element to their band's rock template. Hooking back up with the rest of the Kara's Flowers guys, Levine began writing a bunch of songs that were directly inspired by his recently failed relationship, which was imploding as the band was entering the studio to record. After adding in new guitarist James Valentine (moving Carmichael over to keyboards) and scoring a new deal with Octone Records, the newly christened Maroon 5 were officially up and running; their debut album, the aptly titled Songs About Jane, was soon completed.

Maroon 5 keyboardist Jesse Royal Carmichael was born on April 2, 1979, in Boulder, Colorado. His family relocated to Los Angeles and Carmichael, initially a guitarist, began playing music with some junior-high friends, singer/guitarist Adam Levine and bassist Mickey Madden, under the influence of groups like Nirvana and Pearl Jam. After the final 1994 addition of Ryan Dusick on drums, the alternative pop/rock band Kara's Flowers were born. The quartet scored a record deal with Reprise, released a mediocre album, and was released from its contract all in a matter of years. Following the termination of its deal, the band went on hiatus and Carmichael headed to New York with Levine to attend Five Towns College on Long Island. While there, the guys were exposed to a whole new music scene and absorbed new influences like hip-hop, soul, gospel, and R&B. Not only did the two friends gain a fresh perspective on songwriting at school, but Carmichael also started playing the keyboards. They only lasted a semester before dropping out and heading back to California rejuvenated and inspired to add a new groove-based element to their band's rock template. All of the Kara's Flowers members eventually met up and formed Maroon 5 with the addition of guitarist James Valentine, moving Carmichael over to keyboards.

Maroon 5 bassist Michael "Mickey" Madden was born on May 13, 1979, in Austin, Texas. He began playing music with junior-high friends guitarist Jesse Carmichael and singer/guitarist Adam Levine under the influence of groups like Nirvana and Pearl Jam, and after the final 1994 addition of Ryan Dusick on drums, the alternative pop/rock band Kara's Flowers were born. The quartet scored a record deal with Reprise, issued a mediocre album, and was released from its contract all in a matter of years. Following the termination of its deal, the band went on hiatus, during which Madden briefly took some classes at UCLA. Before long, however, the guys had reconvened back in Los Angeles to begin writing new songs that featured more groove-based elements than their past songs. The group would reform with the addition of James Valentine (guitar), seeking a new record deal and formed the band Maroon 5.

Maroon 5 guitarist James Burgon Valentine was born on October 5, 1978, in Lincoln, Nebraska into a Mormon family, attending church on a regular basis while growing up. First learning piano as a child, Valentine briefly tried out the drums before finally picking up a guitar and falling in love with it. He was a natural and was invited to play with the University of Nebraska jazz ensemble as a high-school student; in addition, he won plenty of music-related awards over the years and was offered various scholarships upon graduation. Valentine played in a few area bands as a teenager, and eventually relocated to southern California in 2000 with his band, Square. It was around this same time that the band Kara's Flowers were reexamining their musical direction and demoing songs for their new label. Valentine was introduced to the group through mutual friends, and though initially just asked to be their guitar tech during recording sessions, was ultimately extended a formal invitation to join. Valentine subsequently made his exit from Square following personal tensions with the other group members, and thus completed the newly christened Maroon 5.

Maroon 5 drummer Matthew Flynn was born on May 23, 1970 in Woodstock, New York. Flynn spent time behind the kit with the B-52's and Gavin DeGraw prior to his work with pop/rock outfit Maroon 5. He initially stepped in on a temporary basis in late 2004 to help out the band after original drummer Ryan Dusick injured himself from constant touring and playing and was unable to perform. Flynn was called to learn the band's songs in just a couple of nights, and wound up sitting in with Maroon 5 for over a year before becoming a permanent member of the group in September 2006, after Dusick's injuries did not heal. Flynn is currently a Yamaha Drum Artist, and he currently plays a Yamaha Absolute Maple Nouveau drum set, complete with Sabian and Zildjian Cymbals, and Vater sticks. Flynn's recording debut with the band was on their 2007 sophomore album, It Won't Be Soon Before Long.

I feel I also got to provide some info on the original drummer, even though he won't be coming over to Singapore today... after all, he is one of the founding members of the group.

Ryan Dusick
Born September 19, 1977, in Los Angeles, California, musician Ryan Dusick is best known as the original drummer for Maroon 5. He joined up with teenaged friends Adam Levine, Jesse Carmichael, and Mickey Madden in 1994 -- considered by those guys as one of the best musicians in school -- and together they formed Kara's Flowers. The quartet scored a record deal with Reprise, issued a mediocre album, and was released from their contract all in a matter of years. Following the termination of their deal, the band went on hiatus and everyone went his separate way. Eventually, though, the guys reconvened back in Los Angeles and set to work writing new songs that owned a fresh groove-based element dissimilar from their previous songs. After the addition of new guitarist James Valentine, the newly christened quintet Maroon 5 was officially born. Maroon 5 scored several hit singles, won two Grammy Awards, and toured constantly in support of Octone Records. However, the constant performing proved to be detrimental to Dusick, who wound up hurting his arm so badly from the continuous shows that he was forced to stop playing in late 2004. As he temporarily sat out to undergo tests and attempt to heal, Maroon 5 continued their heavy touring regime with a replacement behind the drum kit. Months passed and what once seemed like a temporary situation eventually, and unfortunately, looked to be more permanent. Drummer Matt Flynn, who had been filling in Dusick for over a year, officially replaced Dusick in September 2006.

Information on Maroon 5 as a whole

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Cynthia Koh

Maroon 5 concert is tonight!! Man I seriously can't wait to see them perform later... here's some info on the history of this amazing and talented quintet...

A mix of polished pop/rock and neo-soul sex appeal made Maroon 5 one of the most popular bands of the 2000s, with such radio-ready songs as "This Love", "She Will Be Loved" and "Makes Me Wonder" all topping the worldwide singles charts. Previously, bandmates Adam Levine (vocals/guitar), Jesse Carmichael (keyboards), Mickey Madden (bass), and Ryan Dusick (drums) had spent the latter half of the '90s playing in the modern rock outfit Kara's Flowers, releasing their debut album for Reprise Records while still attending high school. The record tanked, however, and Kara's Flowers found themselves dropped from the Reprise roster. After briefly attending college, the bandmates regrouped as Maroon 5, added former Square guitarist James Valentine to the lineup, and embraced a more R&B-influenced sound. Several years later, the quintet had officially risen to the forefront of popular music with the multi-platinum releases of Songs About Jane and It Won't Be Soon Before Long.

Songs About Jane propelled the band into the mainstream, but the album was not an immediate hit. Octone Records had signed the newly christened Maroon 5 in 2001, and the debut album appeared to lukewarm response in June 2002. "Harder to Breathe" became a radio staple 17 months later and was soon followed by the omnipresent "This Love", whose steamy video (featuring frontman Levine and a barely clothed girlfriend) effectively wooed the TV-watching crowds at MTV. Songs About Jane entered the Billboard Top Ten in August 2004, more than two years after the album's release, and subsequent singles "She Will Be Loved" and "Sunday Morning" helped the album move over 2.7 million copies by year's end.

Maroon 5 toured exhaustively in support of Jane's slow-developing success, issuing two stopgap recordings -- 2004's 1.22.03.Acoustic and 2005's Live Friday the 13th -- while canvassing the world alongside The Rolling Stones and John Mayer. Their schedule was especially trying on percussionist Dusick, who sustained wrist and shoulder injuries and was often unable to play. By fall 2006, Dusick had been officially replaced by Matt Flynn (the former drummer for Gavin DeGraw), and the revised band released its sophomore effort in May 2007. It Won't Be Soon Before Long proved to be as popular as its predecessor, spinning off the chart-topping single "Makes Me Wonder" and solidifying the band's position as pop/rock heavyweights.

Jess promoting Kleenex at AMK Hub

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Jasmine and Dean
HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE

Yesterday Jesseca Liu was at AMK Hub to promote Kleenex Be-U tissues... the response there was overwhelming!! Lots of adults and kids were swarming around the Kleenex booth near the entrance of AMK Hub to get a glance of the beautiful Mediacorp Princess!! :-D

Following an Internet session in the morning, I left the house and arrived at AMK Hub at about 3 pm... I had my (rather-late) lunch there and then waited for Fiona at the bus interchange area. After which, we both headed down to the basement level to wait at the entrance of Fairprice Xtra... later I saw Marcus and Syazali, as well as the Jess fans, some whom I recognised from the K-Box event last month.

There was this cute dog mascot dancing about before Jess arrived at Fairprice Xtra... he was gone as soon as Jess arrived at Fairprice Xtra. Syazali joked that it could be Mas Selamat under the costume!! Joker lah you...

The host for the event (who's quite pretty too, though not as chioh as Jess) kept talking about Jess being at the place and encouraging more people to buy Kleenex to get her autograph and take picture with her, but seriously speaking, is anyone even listening to her in first place?

You can call me crazy all you want, but I'm starting to get 'obsessed' with Jesseca's lips... I think they're quite sexy (and pouty) :-p

As for me, I purposely didn't buy Klennex tissues at all... I mean come on, 3 boxes of Kleenex tissue??? I already have so much tissue at home leh!! And I want her autograph on the LiveWell magazine, not on the tissue boxes. And also take picture with Jess for free. Those are my 2 main objectives.

So we (the fans and myself) waited til the event ended at 5.50 pm, then we all followed Jess all the way to the taxi stand (with Syaz standing in front!! Brilliant strategy!)... and it was at the travellators that I managed to get Jess' autograph on the LiveWell magazine (objective #1), and then take pic with her (objective #2)!! You know what that means??? Me and the other fans don't even need to go to RG at all!! MISSIONS ACCOMPLISHED :-D

After Jess left the Hub by taxi, I nearly wanted to do the Shawn Michaels thing again (you know, kneel down, raise arms high and praise God), but decided not to, given the many people around the place. I mean, they'll all think I've gone crazy ya? Anyway, I joined Syaz and Marcus for dinner at the foodcourt located at the 3rd level, chatting abt Mediacorp artistes, wrestling, backstabbers, egomaniacs and so on. After that, I bade the 2 guys farewell and took a bus back home. And yes, I lost a lot of sleep once more!! :-p

Jess' next event will be at West Mall Atrium on 5th April (Saturday)... but I'm not sure whether I can go for it. But one thing's for sure... I think I can safely declare Jess as Number 2 in my Mediacorp Princess list... sorry, Rui En!! I hope you understand...
Christ's resurrection is the bud of promise- our resurrection is the flower of fulfillment!

Thoughts on a certain conflict, plus movie outing with NATurals

I'm not going too much into details regarding a certian conflict that happened recently... but after having read KL's blog recently, I have to admit that it saddens me greatly to know that such friends can exist. Imagine your closest friend for many years turning his/her back on you and badmouthing you unexpectedly... making false testimonies about you and a few other friends. Reminds me too much on Anakin Skywalker turning to the dark side and betraying his mentor Obi-Wan, leading the 501st legion of Clonetroopers to exterminate his brothers and sisters within the Jedi Order and even turning against his own wife, as seen in Star Wars Episode III... now that is really heartbreaking. I was so angered by this, I had to (literally) SUPERKICK this person off my MSN list for good. Still contemplating whether I should remove that traitor off my Friendster list as well...
So ya, cheer up KL... don't brood over it too much ya? I understand what you're going through. I pray that you find the strength and determination to move on... I've been through this kind of situation before. Hey, you still have other friends to count on, right? As far as I know, there is one friend who will never turn His back on you, abandon you nor forsake you... His name is Jesus. The cross is a reminder of how much God loves us by sending His Son to bear our sins and die for us. Likewise we should learn to forgive and forget. It's her loss anyway...

Yesterday Mother and I went for a rather emotional Good Friday service from 9 to 10.30 am... then we went for lunch at good ol' HK Cafe. After which, I got back home to get changed and take train to Dhoby Ghaut... met up with Karen, Estelle, Michelle, Irene and one more guy (sorry, forgot his name!) at the 7th level of PS, and we went to watch the CGI-animated film titled "Horton Hears A Who!". After which we went for early dinner at the Kopi Tiam, then I stayed behind at PS to look thru some cool toys sale, and headed back home at ard 7 pm.

This movie titled "Horton Hears A Who!" (simply known as Horton here) is very very nice, flawless in nearly every aspect. Horton (voiced by the very talented Jim Carrey) is a sweet-natured and lovable elephant who risks his life to save a speck of dust from oliberation... having sensed that the speck contains a civilization (Whoville) containing millions of people, governed by Mayor Ned (voiced by Steve Carell) who has 96 dautghters and a son named Jojo (voiced by teen singer Jesse McCartney). Ned and the citizens of Whoville succeed in saving their own city from being destroyed in a pot of boiling beezelnut oil (having made a lot of noise with instruments and shouting very loudly), Horton forgives his tormentors (mostly monkeys) in the end, and he even forgives Mrs Kangaroo (the main antagonist) by handing over his cookie to her (to the backstabber, I really hope you're reading this!). All the animals in Nool then headed towards Mt. Nool to place the speck where it belongs.
The saying by Horton is very true... "a person's a person, no matter how small". It's like us humans living within a speck of dust among many other 'specks', and God as the unseen presence who watches our every move from above (as seen in the very last scene of the movie before the end credits start rolling). I rate this film 4.5 out of 5 stars... a must-watch for kids and adults alike! ;-)
All creation is an outstretched finger pointing towards God.

Song to dedicate to a few Princesses

Start of the Aries star

I've been dying to dedicate this song to Felicia, Joanne and Jessseca... a Maroon 5 song! This is just the best time to do so... ;-)

WON'T GO HOME WITHOUT YOU- Maroon 5

I asked her to stay but she wouldn't listen
She left before I had the chance to say
Oh, the words that would mend the things that were broken
But now it's far too late, she's gone away

Every night she'll cry herself to sleep
Thinking: "Why does this happen to me?
Why does every moment have to be so hard?"
Hard to believe that

It's not over tonight
Just give me one more chance to make it right
I may not make it through the night
I won't go home without you, woahh

The taste of your breath, I'll never get over
The noises that you made kept me awake, oh
The weight of things that remained unspoken
Built up so much it crushed us everyday

Every night she'll cry herself to sleep
Thinking: "Why does this happen to me?
Why does every moment have to be so hard?"
Hard to believe that

It's not over tonight
Just give me one more chance to make it right
I may not make it through the night
I won't go home without you, whoa oh oh oh
It's not over tonight
Just give me one more chance to make it right
I may not make it through the night
I won't go home without you, woahh

Of all the things I felt but never really shown
Perhaps the worst is that I ever let you go
I should have never let you go, oh oh oh

It's not over tonight
Just give me one more chance to make it right
I may not make it through the night
I won't go home without you, woahh
It's not over tonight
Just give me one more chance to make it right
I may not make it through the night
I won't go home without you
And I won't go home without you
And I won't go home without you
And I won't go home without you

Verses on Good Friday part 2

"He was wounded for our transgressions; He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we were healed." Isaiah 53:5

Today is the death anniversary of the Messiah Jesus Christ. Let us not forget the love that God showed us by sacrificing His only Son Jesus to bear our sins and grant us eternal life, saving us from eternal damnation in the process.

The immortality Jesus offers has nothing to do with anything we do. In fact, after giving His disciples the authority to do truly remarkable things (Luke 10:17-19), Jesus said, "Do not rejoice... that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice becuase your names are written in Heaven." (v. 20)

At Calvary, an unnamed thief who was being crucified alongside Jesus believed that message just in time... The other criminal rebuked him (the criminal who insulted Jesus), "Don't you fear God, since we are the both under ths same snetence? We are punished justly, for we are getting what we deserve, but this Man has done nothing wrong." The thief then said, "Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom." (Luke 23:40-42)

The thief understood that eternal life had nothing to do with what we had done- good or bad. It had to do with what Jesus was doing- giving up His own life so that even the undeserving could be welcomed into Heaven by God. The important thing is being remembered not by others, but by God.

Jesus firmly answered, "Truly I say to you, today you will be with Me in paradise." (Luke 23:43)

Jesus may have meant a return of humanity to the presence of God. However, it is traditionally meant to refer to the abode of the blessed dead. Perhaps, it can be read that the thief's own confession of guilt opens the way to forgiveness of sin. Likewise, we should learn to forgive others who have hurt us, no matter how difficult the situation may be. After all, nobody in this world is perfect.

Our lives matter because God loves us.

Verses on Good Friday part 1

As Good Friday approaches, I would like to share with you fellow Christians (and even those who may not follow Jesus' teachings) some transcripts from The Daily Bread...

Are you being called to taste some bitter cup of pain or betrayal or loss? Are you tempted to push it away? You may be wondering, "Is God in this situation?" If so, recall the dark and distressing experiences of jesus and His example on the night of his betrayal, some 2000 years ago.

We must never forget that Jesus was the God-Man, with both divine and human natures. He therefore recoiled from the agonizing crucifixion and the ordeal of having the world's sins heaped on His sinless soul. He shuddered at the thought of being abandoned by His Father (as een in Matthew 27:45-46 and Mark 15:33-34). So at the Mount of Olives, He pleaded, "If it is possible, let this cup pass from Me, for it is not My will to be fulfilled, but Yours." (Matthew 26:39). And yet after that He said in trustful submission, "Shall I not drink the cup which My Father has given Me?" (John 18:11). He knew that the hand, which would for our redemption hold the cup to His lips, was not the hand of Judas Iscariot or Caiaphas or Pilate. It was the hand of His loving Father intent on redeeming our lost human race.

Baffled by the mystery of such love, we take our stand on Calvary and believe that any cup we drink is held to our lips by the Father of fathomless love and wisdom. Our prayer is that of fathomless love and wisdom. Our prayer is that of trustful submission because we believe that even life's most bitter cup is held in the Father's hand.

Nothing speaks more clearly of God's love for us than the cross.

Pictures of Star wars characters from 2 years ago

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Steve "Sting" Borden, Gary Oldman, Dennis and Kelvin

I remembered going for some Singapore Idol roadshow at Suntec Convention Centre some 2 years ago on 5th August 2006 with Kendrick, Gerald and Jeremy... something to do with Starhub cable. Star Movies was one of the channels featured there, and there were a few Star Wars characters promoting the channel!! At one point, Darth Vader wasn't too pleased over Jonathan Leong speaking in his signature baritone voice...! Check out these pictures... :-)
Stormtrooper with Princess Leia
A rather anti-social (but still cool) Darth Maul
Darth Maul and moii getting ready for action!
Stormtrooper with father and daughter
Darth Maul, Stormtrooper, Princess Leia and moii
It was a dream come true as I got to take picture with my fave Star Wars villain of all time... well, from a certain point of view. I remembered how tight his grip was as I shook his hand.
The cross reveals God's heart for the lost.

Watching the One Man Star Wars show

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Caris and Ian

It was indeed a crazy time at the DBS Arts Centre last night... I'm glad I brought along my camera, and even more glad to buy tickets for this show, being a huge Star Wars fan like everyone in attendance. Most surprising thing was the fact that several SW fans donned on Imperial attire specially to 'get into the Star wars mood'! A few Stormtroopers, a few Scout Troopers, a Crimson Guard, Boba Fett... even Emperor Palpatine was in attendance!! :-D

Imperial army heading downstairs for a standard rollcall outside the DBS Arts Centre

Admiral Piett and Boba Fett

Scout Troopers with extremely small pistols

AT-AT driver and standard Stormtrooper

A rather short TIE fighter pilot (actually female)

Standard stormtroopers watching over the second level

A Crimson guard with a blaster rifle and Force pike at hand. Elsewhere there was a Snow Trooper whose underwear (worn on the outside like Superman) is in danger of slipping off!!

The Emperor has arrived!! He kinda looks like Yoda with the murky green shade on his face...

I purposely gave a worried look, cos I didn't want Darth Sidious to fry me with a lethal dose of Force lightning!!

Give in to the dark side, and I will hand over to you the tickets for the show!! Hehehehehe...

Boba Fett trying to look cool... or maybe he's wondering what happened to his clique of lesser-known bounty hunters (4-LOM, Zuckuss, IG-44, Boussk and Dengar).

Who do you think is cooler... Boba Fett or yours truly, Tanat Anakyn?

Only one Jedi showed up... a certain Kiera from "Knights of The Old Republic II" (wielding Mace Windu's lightsaber)... posing with Boba Fett and a Jedi Padawan.

Arghhh, how come there's no Darth Vader??? It would have been cooler if new trilogy characters like Darth Maul or Count Dooku arrived...

There were absolutely no props or special effects during the 80-minute show... it's just Charles Ross providing the sifferent actions and voices for all 3 chapters of the original trilogy... the growl of Chewbacca, the whistle of Artoo Detoo, the stiff walking of C-3PO, the stifled breathing of Darth Vader, the constant whining of Luke Skywalker (plus his need for a haircut), the maniacal laugh of Emperor Palaptine, the ominous mouth movement of Jabba The Hutt, the clash of lightsabers, the screeching noises of X-wings and TIE Fighters... too many to name! The whole one-man show was just too hilarious... I nearly hurt my ribs from all that non-stop laughter. Indeed the Force is strong in this one :-p

So if you're a Star Wars fan like myself, and wish to hear the story through a single man, this one's for you!! There are still 3 more shows... today (19th March), Thursday (20th March) and Saturday (22nd March).

May the Force be with you... always ;-)

One Man Star Wars with Charles Ross debuts today!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Adam Levine (lead vocalist of Maroon 5!!!), Vincent Chan and Milly Khoo

Exactly one more week to the Maroon 5 concert!!! :-D

I got rather high the moment I found out who's on the cover of Citta Bella for next month...

But arghhh, too few pictures inside. And all the pics inside are in black and white. Oh well, at least I'm glad to see Rui En featured in a magazine after so long. She certainly never looked this beautiful... then again I think Felicia is prettier than her (sorry, Rui En!).

Tonight I will be going to watch the One Man Star Wars show starring the incredibly talented Charles Ross. Ross plays all the characters within the trilogy, recreates the effects, inserts factoids when appropriate, sings from the John Williams score, flies the ships, and fights both sides of the battles. The inspiration came from playing frisbee with friends; the thrower would say a line from the movies, and the catcher had to say the following line while catching.

Charles Ross has also used the concept with other film trilogies, including "One Man Lord of the Rings", which was performed from 2004 to 2005. Ross was asked to stop performing "One Man LOTR" by the intellectual property holder.

Here's the link to the main website: http://www.onemanstarwars.com/star_wars.html

Check out this video on Charles Ross... it's freaking hilarious! :-D

Rouge recording

The Rouge recording for Episode 4 at Mediacorp yesterday started on a rather dull note, but nevertheless went smoothly. You see, some of the people (like us Jolliteers) involved in the recording arrived as early as 5 pm... the gates weren't open til a few minutes to 8 pm.

For more info on Rouge, go to this link... http://community.mediacorp.com.sg/TV/CS/blogs/rouge/default.aspx

The moment I reached Mediacorp, I was slapping my head cos I had no idea that Ryan, Xueting, Joyce, Kailin and esp Kaileng were gonna be there!!! DOHHHHHH... oh well never mind, I can always bring the F4 booklet another day...

At about 1830 hrs, a few U Are The One contestants came out from reception... the only one who caught my attention was Kang Jiaxi...

Not counting the different hairstyles, he and his twin brother Chengxi seriously look too alike!!!

The rest came between 6 to 7.30 pm... waited til nearly 8 pm, then finally the gate to the place got opened! And we headed into the studio... setting for Rouge looks quite cool. Host of the show Eunice Olsen looked really beautiful in silky floral dress... and Huifang the 'wubbie' for the show was also quite pretty (tho a little annoying).

First part of the show featured Joanne and Jade Seah (darn, I had no idea she was involved as well... then again, she's not really my fave). The segment is on how the 2 former Miss Singapore Universe contestants made use of $50 each to purchase dresses and accessories at the best bargain. Joanne looked elegant in a red dress, whereas Jade looked sizzling HAWT in a brown dress that goes up to her thighs. So there you have it, 3 former Miss Singapore Universe contestants in the same scene, plus an image consultant named Marcus.

Second part was an interview on some banking consultant named Celine (I think), on how to buy cheap and good stuff. I can't quite remember much from this one, it was done rather quickly in 5 to 6 minutes.

Final part of the show was the most interesting one... it features Food Bachelor Paul Foster (a former Deal Or No Deal hunk) pe\reparing some mushroom delicacy as well as some Italian bread pieces topped up with tomato, olives and garlic. I can't remember the name of that delicacy, but it sure tastes nice! Two thumbs up for Paul's cooking... the whole filming ended just before 10 pm with very few retakes, and the Jolliteers headed straight to Radiogate to wait for Joanne.

Joanne came out at about 2215 hrs, then we chatted with her and snapped away at her like paparazzi, haha! I managed to get a picture with her as well as get her autographs on the magazines I brought along...

I like the finishing strokes of Joanne's signature on both issues... looks a bit like calligraphy don't you think? :-)

And then at abt 2250 hrs... SHENG JING PO drove out!!! :-D

Whoops, I mean Felicia. :-p I managed to chat with the pretty gal for a while...

Me: Fel, I wanna apologize for the FHM issue incident on Tuesday.
Fel: Oh, it's ok, no need to feel so bad. (smiles sweetly)
Me: Truth is, I purposely brought it along so I can embarass you, hahaha!!
Fel: Huh!! So bad (pouts lips in mock anger)
Me: haha, I'm just kidding... :-p

Then I called Rachel (cutie pie) to have a chat with Fel... Jerena xiaomeimei never answered. Ryan and gang had already left the place long time back... :-/

Fel drove off after abt 10 minutes... and Jo took off soon after. And yes, I lost a lot of sleep yet again!!! :-p

Greek masterpieces

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Yong Chao and Weiqiang

Yesterday evening I went to the National Museum to see the Greek Masterpieces From The Louvre... and because the exhibition was about to close (last day today), the operation hours for the last 3 days have extended til 8 pm, and between 6 to 8 pm, it was free admission!! :-D

I took lots of pictures of the statues, accessories and busts found there. But I hadn't the courage or time to try out the Greek clothings found at the backstage region. So many naked figures, both men and women, the Greeks certainly have no shame back then, tsk tsk. And I aint gonna upload the pictures here, for I took about 100. But if you are really keen on viewing the pictures, you may go to this link here... http://s213.photobucket.com/albums/cc78/anakyn_rulz/greek%20masterpieces/
What I can show you are pictures of a huge David statue standing in the centre of the musuem... this just came in last week.

Hmmm... David must be damn pissed over the fact that many people are staring at his butt or dick... or maybe he's trying to figure out a way on how to take a leak or do big business without anyone looking. Or maybe he's just vain. I wonder how he got so huge though... even Goliath (whom David killed, according to 2nd Samuel) isn't this tall, from what I remember.

David: Oui, kua si mi?? Yes, I'm talking to YOU. Are you done snapping away at my naked sexy body already???

Nah, I can't top it off. I can never be like David. :-x

Oh, I saw this interesting activity segment too. Helmets, plungers, gloves, spoons, cups snd bowls stuck onto the wall via magnets.

I managed to make a few faces here... :-p

I will gladly help out with your latest project, Phua Chu Kang.
A few minutes later...

David: Listen up, everyone!! I've had it with standing here and letting all of you see my naked body from day til night!! Can you please leave me in peace while I think of a way to get out of here...
Me: Ermmm sorry, Your Majesty (David is King of Israel according to the Old Testament, you see)... I'm afraid that's impossible. The board at the side states that you have to stand here til August 11th.
Before exiting from the museum, me and Mum headed to the different galleries at the upper level... namely the galleries of lifestyle, food, entertainment and fashion. By 8 pm, we went to have dinner at Plaza Singapura, and headed back home.

I can't wait to see Joanne Peh later, haven't seen her since last year... :-)

Rediscover Dance @ Novena Square 2

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Tania and Angeline
I was rather shocked and upset when, hours before the actual thing, I found out about Louisa's decision not to go for the event at Square 2... later on I roughly understood the reason why. :-/

Entering Square 2 was a first time for me, and it looked a little... familiar. Could be some place I dreamt about some time ago I guess. Seeing the lack of Western restaurants within the place, I decided to head to the foodcourts upstairs to have chicken rice for dinner. After which, I headed back downstairs to watch the dancing performances (on some rather unglam-looking black platform).

The event (hosted by a guy named James) held at Square 2 last night lasted for only 20 minutes, much shorter than I expected (I was thinking an hour at the most). But I was glad I went for this event actually, even if I had to miss the Cleo event. The performances by Melvin n Sharon were full of sensation and power, while the dances by Vas n Pris were so full of youthful energy and emotion. Captivating, entertaining and thrilling from start to finish! These lovely and sensuous pairs are the only teams never to be in the Bottom 3 positions throughout the entire run of The Dance Floor. After I got MnS' autographs and had a brief chat with VnP, I headed for the MRT back home.

Here are the pics you've been waiting for... enjoy! The items are all based off the teams' performances throughout The Dance Floor competition. ;-)

Melvin n Sharon first dance (Ballroom Round)

Vas n Pris first dance (Shuffle Round)

Melvin n Sharon second dance (Moulin Rouge, Grand Finals)

Vas n Pris second dance (Ballroom Round)

Melvin n Sharon third and fourth dance (Shuffle Round)

Vas n Pris third dance (Copon Cabana, Grand Finals)

Cleo's Bachelor's Carnival at Zouk (pictures)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Santino Marella and Daniel Goh

After some consideration, I have decided not to go for the 2008 Cleo Bachelors Finals Party today, opting instead to go see Melvin n Sharon as well as Vas n Pris at Novena Square 2. This decision was made on Wednesday night. And no, I am so not going for BFC, JDI or SFB tomorrow!!

In the meantime, here are the pictures taken at the 2008 Cleo Bachelor's Carnival last Saturday... terribly sorry for the long delay! I've been studying for my final paper... and as you can see here, I had to choose the best few out of over 200 pictures to upload here!!

My thoughts on the Red Alert List

Now that the DVP paper has ended, I feel this is the right time to diss the people who were close to getting debarred from the final paper. (Early warning to others... if you find any of these words offensive, I strongly suggest that you leave this tie and go somewhere else!!! And I mean it)

This was the debar list as seen on 20th February 2008... I predicted 10 out of 12 names correctly. Not too surprised about that. Could have been worse...

Imagine my shock when I saw the successful appeal list 2 weeks later on 5th March... :-O

Up til now, I still refuse to believe that all 12 of these names have been spared from debarment. This explains how fucked up the school system is for quite some time.

I personally feel that most of these people (most particularly the guys) do not deserve another chance! They have been given way too many chances, yet they refuse to learn from their mistakes and keep getting from bad to worse!! What exactly are they doing for the past few months???

  • Reach school very very late (most frequent latecomers are Hafiz and Hakim, to name a few)
  • Wear outsider clothes instead of uniform (people like Mr D)
  • Run around like monkeys in the computer labs and not even doing their assignments (most common offenders are Shalehan and Zaki!!)
  • Throw MC damn often (Nina and NA)
  • MIA from school for super long (people like Miss R)
  • Or simply come up with lousy excuses and stories for any of the aforementioned offences (most of them!!)

I may not know what problems they are going through, but their horrible attitudes do reveal their true colors that they are nothing but a bunch of irresponsible goons who only know how to fool around and not bother to take their studies seriously!!

I could go on dissing them all night long, but it's actually none of my concern, come to think of it. I don't want others to think that I'm too judgmental anyway. But truth be told, I do take some pleasure in badmouthing people whom I feel are truly unworthy to even be included in my circle of friends (people like MKP, muahaha). I know that nobody's perfect, but these goons are really rotten to the core. Sigh, when will they ever learn??? Let's wait and see what's gonna happen when they further their studies, go to work or enter NS (for the guys that is).

To write this entry off, I wanna say a huge SHAME ON YOU to the following near-debarred students (some, not all). I know that most of you goons don't like me, and I don't like you either. Thank goodness I don't fall in the same clique or frequency as you. Just fuck off from my life real good! It's been 'great' knowing you for the past 2 years. And Im not gonna take back what I say. After the graduation ceremony, I shall wash my hands off you incorrigible bunch...

Oh, and if I must have a few words to some of the guys, I must say it now...

To Phiz, I wanna inform you in advance that I am NOT going to watch you and the rest of SFB perform at Novena Square this coming Saturday, or any other day!!! Fancy you spending more time in your dancing than in your studies... I won't be surprised if the same applies to your brother.

And Zaki, you oughta be grateful that you never got debarred from any exam paper so far... and to think you would behave like a damn monkey/orang utan/gorilla/chimpanzee during the final paper!! This is a school, NOT Mandai Zoo!!! (same advice goes to your fellow primate Shalehan) Don't you ever try forcing me to go for your birthday chalet at the end of this month, cos my answer will still be a big fat NO!!! The only presents I would glady send to you and Shalehan are a bag of peanuts and some bananas!! MUAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Never wound what you can't kill!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Esther (Jeanette lookalike)

If you happen to read this, first and foremost I wanna thank you for the suggestion that I go for the Rediscover Dance event instead of the CLEO party, at least I can save money and avoid taking late taxi ride home. BUT THEN I got something I need to get off my chest right now...

I've had it with your endless lecturing and constant nagging!! Who I support and what I do outside has got NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU. It's MY LIFE, not yours!!

Well, the initial length of the above paragraph has been shortened greatly due to personal reasons. I promise you blog readers, I shall not diss my own parents online ever again. Would rather write it somewhere else. Forgive me, Lord...

And to some readers out there, what's wrong with giving MKP 'airtime' in my blog??? It might not sound acceptable, but that's just my way of letting off hot air. What's more I'm not the only one doing that anyway. People do blog about people they despise, don't they?? And I usually don't talk about that pea-brain much unless necessary. I am so not gonna live my life in 'pure bitterness and anger' because of a few people who piss me off. I want everyone to take note that I never intended to use some big-ego person I hardly know to 'gain more recognition in the blogging world' anyway, and I am NOWHERE as crude or horrendous as Wendy Cheng aka Xiaxue. Call me judgmental if you like, but I am not biased towards everyone, for I know too well that nobody is perfect. Whatever the case, I wanna apologise if any of you feel a little put off by my little features on MKP. But you can't live with it, then LEARN TO BEAR WITH IT AND SHUT UP!!!

Ok, BACK TO REALITY!! Today is the final year exam for DVP... I gotta revise through my notes with sheer intensity, and then the very next thing I would have to worry about is what to do after I graduate from school. So anyone out there who got job recommendations, pls let me know asap, thanks!

As Venom would say in the Spider-Man 3 movie... "Never wound... what you can't kill."

Oh, and do stay tuned for the upcoming post about my thoughts on the goons who got spared from debarment hell!! You are soooo gonna 'love it'. Cos I do, it makes me happy.

Choosing studies over a dance event

Last night, I saw this advertisement on My Paper...

Photobucket
IT'S MELVIN AND SHARON!!! Man I haven't seen them for a long time already... since the Dance Floor finals last year. I still think they're both SIZZLING HAWT!!! :-p

Then I looked at the (more important) dates located on the page...

  • 12th March (today), 7 pm- Melvin & Sharon/ Vas & Pris (woohoo, them also!!)
  • 14th March, (Friday), 7 pm- Melvin & Sharon/ Vas & Pris
Venue is at Square 2, located just next to Novena MRT station.

Other Dance Floor finalists like Fantastic Four, Styles From Beyond, Breakforce Crew and JDI will also be performing on different dates (but none of these fancy me, like seriously). If Platinum were involved too, I would probably give a damn.

BUT before I can say "I WANNA GO!!!", I did some serious thinking... I could go support MnS as well as VnP today, but I certainly cannot forgo my revision for DVP exam tomorrow. So Im definitely staying at home to revise through my notes today.

As for Friday... whoa, very very tough decision leh. Cleo Bachelor's Finals Party also falls on Friday. To make things worse, Louisa is a fervent supporter of MnS leh. But if the SMS convo I had wif Michelle earlier today is anything to go by, my final decision would have to be... I would probably give the 14th March event a miss too and go for the Cleo Party instead (still pending). The Cleo Party has much more to offer than just dancing... stuff like games and singing. Plus, there are at least 5 well-known personalities to look out for among the 50 hunks... guys like Andie, Desmond, Joakim, Ash and Daren!! If only both events didn't clash, that would make life much easier... hmmmm :-/

Anyway, I dedicate this song to MnS and VnP as well as the fans of these 2 groups (ok lah, everyone else too)...

(And sorry to say Phiz, I am so not going to watch you and the rest of SFB perform tomorrow!! I got much better things to do... so why don't you ask the rest of the class to go support you, cos I WON'T GO!!)

THE DANCE- Westlife

Looking back on the memory of
The dance we shared beneath the stars above
For a moment all the world was right
How could I have known that you'd ever say goodbye

And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end, the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance
I could have missed the pain
But I'd have had to miss the dance

Holding you, I held everything
For a moment wasn't I a king
But if I'd only known how the king would fall
Hey who's to say? You know I might have changed it all

And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end, the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance
I could have missed the pain
But I'd have had to miss the dance (repeat)

It's my life, it's better left to chance
I could have missed the pain
But I'd have had to miss the dance

Filming at Cathay

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Aaron Eckhart, Vicki Zhao Wei and Patta

Yesterday me and about 40 other fans went to
Photobucket
to be part of a filming scene that involves
Photobucket
and also involves
Photobucket

I reached Cathay the earliest at about 1230 hrs, after a rather quick lunch at PS... the 'Evil Gang' (as they called themselves) arrived soon after. My main targets from that group were the cheeky little Jerena and baby-faced Rachel. Those two were forever 'debating' on who is cuter, haha! Ryan and his friend Dallas arrived soon after. The rest came between 1 to 1.30 pm. Brandon Wong arrived at around that time, and I believe that it was due to the heavy downpour that Fel arrived late. Nevertheless, filming at Gramophone started the moment Fel changed to red dress and got into her role as a local singer named Cherry (not you lah, Feimao... sorry). Julian Hee was also part of the filming, I think he plays 'Cherry' 's best friend (and possibly secret admirer) Sky.

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
It was my second time appearing in the same scene as Fel, the first one being at CHIJMES last year (the finale for 'Honor and Passion' which also involves my other faves Rui En, Nat and Rebecca). Only difference is, this one was more upclose and it was like any autograph session. So you can say it's partially real. Esp since Cherry was similar to the real Felicia in almost every aspect. People watching from outside the CD shop were snapping away wif their camera phones! :-p Right after Fel signed on all CDs (empty casings actually) as well as magazines, we were allowed to snap pictures of her and even take picture wif her. I couldnt get to take pic wif Fel again, but then again. i already did so at Vivo and at AMK Hub. Unfortunately, we couldnt see Julian anywhere, for he probably left soon after he got his CDs signed. :-/

Photobucket
These are the magazines that Fel (or should I say, Cherry?) signed on. Mission accomplished!! Thank goodness I didnt bring out the FHM Jan 2005 magazine for Fel to sign, otherwise she'll be screaming in embarrassment! Cos that's exactly what she did the moment I showed it to her after filming ended!!

Filming wrapped up at abt 1550 hrs, earlier than scheduled. Then myself, Ryan and Dallas went to Billy Bombers to have rather late lunch (ok, so I can consider this as 'real lunch', cos what I had at PS wasn't so filling).

Photobucket
Check out the size of that jumbo-sized hotdog!!
The food alone cost a bomb... so no drinks here, we resorted to plain water.

After that, we headed back to Gramophone, finding out that Fel had already left some time ago (as did her fans). Still, I couldnt help but compare the pic of Vic Chou and Ken Chu on the new CD with Ryan's look, haha! The three then rushed to PS under the drizzling rain and went to develop photos with templates appiled...

Photobucket
Check out this one! My head and Fel's match the arcs of the heart shape exactly! All hail the 'power' of Photoshop, muahaha... :-p

I found this magazine outside Guardian... immediately, I recognised the slim beauty on the cover...
Photobucket
who else but JESSECA!!Looks like I got one more thing for her to sign on come April 5th... :-p

I went upstairs to look around a Yamaha outlet with Ryan, Dallas and a third guy named Jiawei (I think)... looking thru guitars, drums, keyboards and classical pianos. I don't have any musical gene inside me, unfortunately... but after watching a 71-yr-old grandma play an electric guitar in the debut episode of the new local talk show titled Rouge, I think I may want to take up guitar lessons soon... and probably drumming lessons? :-/

Anyway, at about 6 pm, I decided to take train from Dhoby Ghaut to Woodlands... I saw a huge pasar malam stall there, and I heard some familiar song blasting thru nearby speakers... it's WESTLIFE KARAOKE!! :-O I got so hooked, I had to sms Michelle & Irene (fellow NATurals) to meet me at the CD section of the pasar malam stall, while I sang along to the songs from Westlife's first albums (songs like Flying Without Wings, Fool Again, Seasons In The Sun, etc). I handed over the extra Cleo invitation card to Michelle & Irene, and also showed them the pics I took recently. After the 2 gals left, I bought a Ramlee beef burger for quick dinner and then headed back home... losing sleep again due to obvious reasons, ha!! :-p

And one last thing... THANKS FOR DROPPING A COMMENT, QIUTING!! You're damn cute and sweet!! How I long to pinch your cheeks... ;-p

P.S. Irene, I think you're also very pretty like Fel! (blushes)

8 days and i-weekly for this week

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Terrence Howard, Ix Shen and Esther Goh

(Awww shit today is MKP's birthday too!!!)

Yesterday my mission at Suntec failed in some fashion, I never knew that the filming would finish at around 6 pm... to make things worse, I was close to transforming into VENOM the moment I stood in front of the toy collectible store besides Rock Auditorium... not bcos of the Venom figures I saw, but by this...

Photobucket
ULTIMATE VENOM LAU NUAAAAA!!!!! Consequently, I had this splitting headache as the symbiote threatened to dominate my mind and soul... I have to cleanse myself of impure thoughts somehow. :-/

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
Tay Ping Hui, Fiona, Yuwu, Nat, Rebecca, Andrea and Joanne are also featured inside.

Photobucket
On i-weekly is Fiona and Ekin, talking about their roles in "Rule #1".

Photobucket
Jeanette is also featured. Here she is required to do taekwondo for the upcoming drama "Bian Zhou Qu".

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
Cai Peixuan, Rebecca Lim, Joey Feng, Koh Yah Hwee and Jesseca are also featured.

I'm off for filming at Cathay Cineplex... can't wait to see Sheng Jing Po again... :-)

I don't think MKP might show up... given the fact that he's kicked out from the Felicia fc for his constant trouble-making and obsessive behavior. Then again, we can never be too sure about that...

Cleo Bachelors' Carnival at Zouk (details)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Anthony Ong, Desmond and Goh Zhewen

It was my first time going to Zouk, and already I made my first blunder... I missed the stop in front of Copthorne Plaza (which is located in front of Zouk!!). And I had to walk a rather long distance... next time I must be more careful.

So I met up with Louisa, and went inside Zouk... yes, this is indeed my virgin visit into the nightclub. Looks kinda crammed, but at least the lights were brightly lit and the place was not as nightmarish as I thought it to be.

The hosts were Fly Entertainment artistes Irene Ang and Chua Enlai... man these two really know how to crack up the crowd. Gals were screaming as 38 out of 50 hunks were formally introduced. Four of the hunks were talent contest finalists... Star Search 2007 champion Andie Chen, Star Search 2007 finalist Desmond Tan, Singapore Idol 2 finalist Joakim Gomez and Live The Dream group winner Ash (lead vocalist of By Definition). The other 34 hunks who were present for the carnival were...
Benjamin Tan, Jon Cheong, Laurence Ong, Andrew Chew, Jareth, Kai Reuber, Ryan Marc Pereira, Julius Sim, Bryan D'Silva, Bryan Gamboa, Daniel Wuu, David Teng, Eddie Herbert, Ian Sim, Joel Thong, Kelvin Ong, Freddie Lin, Prem Goh, Adam Toh, Alex Toh (not the HK singer!!), Alan Soh, Charles Chua, David Wang, He Fulin, Jason Chew, Jonathan Lim, Khairudeen, Nicholas Bloodworth, Ratna Suffian, Md Yuzzaimi and two more guys whose names I can't remember.

What I do know is that Daniel Jacobs, Daren Tan and Paerin Choa are among the 12 absentees.

The activities on stage were simply crazee... for Batch no 1, 3 gals (one of them who looked damn HOT in microshorts and an oversized shirt) had to dump ice and Brand's berry essence bottles into 3 guys' shirts and made them look 'pregnant'!! Thank Andie and Joakim never kena...

For Batch no 2, a young lady named Angela (I think) was invited on stage to say some witty quotes as 3 hunks took off their shirts and danced around her... after which she had to lick off lemon marks on their forearms! Talk about a crazy sexy time...

For Batch no 3, 3 gals had to sing a love song with 3 hunks, and the song had to contain the word 'time'. Team no 3 won with creativity and dramatic poses. 4 more gals were invited on stage to play some game where Girl A had to throw some balls past 4 men doing pushups, and Girl B has to catch the balls that made it safely to the other end and drop them in the basket.

After a lucky draw for 6 lucky gals who won grand prizes, Louisa and I went to play a few games... managed to win an invitation card for the Cleo Bachelors' Finals Party this coming Friday. After that, I managed to get autographs on the Cleo magazine from Andie, Desmond and Joakim... then me and Louisa headed for the Dunk-A-Hunk segment located near the entrance.

First person to get dunked into the water tank was Cleo editor Deborah Tan. After which came Eddie Herbert, Freddie Lin, Desmond Tan and Kelvin Ong. Louisa and I then left the place at abt 1830 hrs, and took respective buses home. Well actually, I went for dinner first, then headed back home.

Man I can't wait to go for the Cleo Bachelors' Final Party later this week!! Stay tuned for pictures in next post ;-)

Felicia promoting Vitagen at AMK Hub

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
The moment I reached AMK Hub, I failed to realise that the place had TWO basement levels. Man was I so dumb indeed. Nearly wanted to pinch Rachel's cheeks cos she's getting cuter everyday!! Violet Chen the host for the event arrived at abt 1140 hrs, and 10 minutes later, SHENG JING PO ARRIVED!!!

Photobucket
Indeed I bought 4 packs of Vitagen Collagen to redeem a coupon to take pic wif the beautiful Fel... and yep, I went weak all over and couldnt stop blushing!! Thank goodness I didnt turn into Venom... yet.

Photobucket
Indeed I was right, the 'common enemy' didn't turn up for the event. But then a disturbance of another sort came at the most unexpected time. This guy in businessman suit and spectacles is damn extra, only want to seek attention and irritate everyone, wasting other people's time as well. He embarrassed himself in front of Fel by asking her to sign on JACKY CHEUNG CDs?!?! WTF!!! And to think that he could even push his younger brother away!! Shit lah, that idiot better get admitted to IMH after this!!! His ego was much bigger than MKP's lor. I could have given him Sweet Chin Music anytime!! If SK is Mr Kiam Pa, then this guy (who is also named Sean) will be Mr Super Kiam-Pa!! (evil smirk)

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
As Fel went for a short break at 1 pm, I left the place and had my luinch at Mos Burger Jubilee, where Feimao is currently working. The waiting time is still so long (I waited for more than 20 minutes!!!) and the manpower there is suffering, thank goodness I don't work there. And even better is the fact that the Jubilee outlet is gonna close down soon!! About time...

After which, I went back home to keep the Vitagen Collagen packs, and took off to my next destination... ZOUK! To be continued in next post

Dedication to Mei Ren Yu before event

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Jeremy Han and Jerena Goh

Me off to see Sheng Jing Po at Ang Mo Kio Hub today, and see some hunky guys at the Cleo's Bachelor's Carnival at Zouk later on... here's a song I dedicate to Felicia, and it's by one of my fave popbands Maroon 5. Til then, stay tuned for pictures at both venues! :-)

INFATUATION- Maroon 5

Baby, I don’t want to spend my life on trial
For something that I did not do
And maybe if you stopped and looked around some time
I wouldn’t pass right by you
Maybe it’s because you are so insecure
Maybe your plain don’t care
Maybe it’s the chase that really gets me off
I fall so when it’s just not there
Burn another bridge, break another heart
Try again, it will only fall apart

Infatuation
Not seeing the rest of you is getting the best of me
It’s such a shame that you shot me down
It would have been nice to be around
I’m touching your skin
If it’s only a fantasy, then why is it killing me?
I guess this must be
Infatuation (I want it, I want it, I want it,
I want it, I want it, I want it, I want it)

Try to put my finger on what burns me up
It always seems to escape me
And when you have decided that you’ve had enough
Just tell me where I need to be
Now her face is something that I never had
To ever deal with before
She left me with the feeling that she’d had enough
And I’m the one wanting more
Burn another bridge, break another heart
Try again, it will only fall apart

Infatuation
Not seeing the rest of you is getting the best of me
It’s such a shame that you shot me down
It would have been nice to be around
I’m touching your skin
If it’s only a fantasy, then why is it killing me?
And I guess this must be
Infatuation (I want it, I want it, I want it
I want it, I want it, i want it, I want it...)

I’m so attracted to you
The feeling’s mutual too
And I get scared the moment you leave
Get so hot I forget to breathe, yeah...

Infatuation
Not seeing the rest of you is getting the best of me
It’s such a shame that you shot me down
It would have been nice to be around
I’m touching your skin
If it’s only a fantasy, then why is it killing me?
I guess this must be infatuation

(I want it, I want it, I want it) Ooh...
(I want it, I want it, I want it, I want it)
(I want it, I want it, I want it) Ooh...
(I want it, I want it, I want it, I want it)
(I want it, I want it, I want it) Yeah…
( I want it, I want it, I want it, I want it)
Yeah, yeah yeah yeah...

Projects finished!!! SIBEI SONG

WOO HOO!!! I can't believe it!!! I finished my DVP showreel!!! And within 6 hours for today some more!!! SIBEI SONG!!! :-D

I just couldn't be bothered to get stressed unnecessarily over one obstacle any longer. I just wanted to get it over and done with, then fuck off from the school with a cert and flying colors.

Portfolio presentation- CHECK
APP project- CHECK
DVP showreel- CHECK (and it's not easy at all)

Now I can concentrate on revising for the upcoming DVP exam as well as look forward to going for the upcoming events for the next few weeks. But first I have a few things to digress about...

1) I was not amused by the fact that ALL the almost-debarred students had their appeal letters approved... the moment I saw the results on the board, I was going WHAT THE HELL??? Yes, I do have a fucking problem with that, and I shall express my thoughts about it sometime next week.

2) SOMEONE arrived in school super-late as always. Not just today, but also for the past few days. To sum it up, he's ALWAYS ALWAYS LATE!!! School started at 9 am today, and that SOMEONE reached school at 1330 hrs, when lesson was going to end at about 1430 hrs. And this had happened for about the hundredth time already. Same applies to a few more people. If Mr Kelvin were to find out about this, he is going to be terribly upset with him. And yet he still had the cheek to ask me about any upcoming event tomorrow. I only told him about the Cleo Bachelors' Carnival at Zouk... I never told him anything about Felicia's event at Ang Mo Kio Hub at all (and I don't intend to), given his horrible attitude and frequent latecoming. It's better that he find out about it for HIMSELF!!! He gotta be ashamed of himself!!!

3) And I am also angered by the fact that some people still wanna skateboard around the computer lab and not finish up on their showreel... see if they dare play around when they go out to work or enter NS!! To think that they would spend the most of their 2 years in school playing around, going MIA and not being serious in their studies. No sense of discipline at all!!! I'm glad I'm not one of them.

Funny article on Singapore's Most Wanted!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Huang Biren, Paul Twohill and Teng Hui

I saw this article at www.talkingcock.com... man, I tell you, you're going to die laughing!!! I laughed so hard til my ribs wanna break already!!! It may be more than a week since Mas Selamat bin Kastari, Singapore's Biggest CBK (you really don't wanna know what these initials mean), has escaped from prison and gone into hiding, but suddenly he's become a hot topic among Singaporeans today... he's even being made fun of in TalkingCock!! :-D

This is what the article says...

Posted on Saturday, March 1st 2008
OK, we know we normally only update on Monday, but this is a national emergency. The Great Singapore Search is still on, and people have been circulating pictures of escaped terrorist Mas Alamak Kastari so that members of the public can help to spot him. But not say we say what, the pictures (below) are not very helpful leh:

Almost the same, what! I mean, this guy is smart enough to escape ISD HQ, you think he wen go and find some more powderful disguise, meh?In our one and only contribution to national security, TalkingCock.com brings you a handy guide to help spot Mas Alamak which you can print out and keep inside your wallet, just in case… ;-P

You can start laughing now... wonder what Mas Selamat would say if he ever learns of this :-D

Gala premiere of "Rule #1"!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Mr Kennedy, Norman Then and Janice

Yesterday was one of the most memorable highlights for the year... I was one of 100 very lucky people who won tickets for the gala premiere of "Rule #1", and this marked my very first time watching a movie free-of-charge!! :-D

After another dreadful day in school (which I shall not elaborate on), I reached home at abt 1540 hrs to get changed, and then went to Harborfront station to meet up with Wendy (who likes Fiona). We then headed to Vivo City and reached the ticket redemption booth, only to be told that the booth will open later at plus. So we went to have our dinner at Carl's Jr... there I told her the rough story of "The Leap Years", then we headed to the booth to get our tickets (using my IC of course). Seeing that we still had time to spare, we headed to a nearby PageOne bookstore to browse through some magazines, before heading to the red carpet area at around 2015 hrs. The props looked too real indeed...

Me and Wendy posing in front of the stage segment
These are the tickets that I won!! Halleluia! :-)

Of course there were other artistes who went for the event... most surprising appearances were Elvin and Nat Ho... others were Gurmit Singh (with beard??? EEEE), Jack Neo, Shaun Chen, Michelle Chia, Ix Shen, Ericia Lee, Nick Shen, Wu Luoyi, Qi Yuwu and Thomas Ong. Got one more artiste also, but I shall reveal the name later...

Then came the director and cast... Kelvin Tong, Ekin Cheng, Shawn Yue and Fiona Xie!! Soon after they headed to the main stage, me and Wendy rushed to take pics of them. Obviously it was crowded and we could only take pictures from a certain distance. After about 10 minutes, they headed up to the Gold Class cinema to get seated.

Me and Wendy headed up to the second level of GV Vivo... and I was super surprised to see... FELICIA??? :-O And when Fel saw Wendy, her eyes grew very wide!!! (cant tell u why). I was rather upset not to be able to take pic wif Fel, cos she had her back turned as you can see in the pic (that's Shaun next to her).

Well, at least I got the chance to take pic wif 3 shuai ges: Nat, Yuwu and Elvin... after that, myself and Wendy headed to Cinema no 12 and watched the film.

Man I tell you, it's downright eerie and frightening... I had to cover my face with the newspaper quite often, while Wendy pulled at my sleeve and shrieked!! I only found out that it was a horror film one week prior. Some scenes will send chills running down your spines... and there is an interesting twist towards the end of the film.

Unfortunately, the film falls short on character development, cos there seems to be more focus on the ongoing hunt for the wandering spirit than on the characters. On an interesting nsideote, Fiona (who plays Shawn Yue's wife) has all her scenes in the apartment where she and Shawn 'live' in, and does not share any onscreen time with Ekin at all. I rate this film 3.5 out of 5 stars... you should watch it, but only if you can tahan horror films (cos I can't, I admit I'm a wuss when it comes to watching horror flicks). Thank goodness it aint as disastrous as "Men In White".

Right the film ended, Wendy had to leave early cos her dad was gonna pick her up... I met Source outside the ticket lobby and we waited for the artistes to come out. I finally got to take picture with the beautiful Felicia after so long, but not without going weak in the knees. Thank goodness my nose didnt bleed, heh. And i also managed to get 'Judge Ironfist' 's (Thomas lah, who else) signature, though I couldnt get to take pic wif him.
So happy I was, I did the Shawn Michaels thingy again (kneel down, close eyes, raise arms high and give thanks, minus the fireworks)... then me and Source headed back to our respective homes via North-east line MRT... and yep, I sure lost a lost of sleep!!!

WOO HOO!! I cant believe it!!!

OH MY GOD!! I can't believe that I'm so lucky... :-O
This morning I received an sms stating that I won a pair of tickets (from an i-weekly SMS contest) for the gala premiere of "Rule #1"!!! That means that I will get to bring along a friend to watch the film with the cast and director, and possibly take picture wif HK star Ekin Cheng and Shawn Yue... and most importantly FIONA!!! WOO HOO!!! I'm off to Vivo City to get my tickets!!! Stay tuned for pictures coming up in a later post...!!! :-D

Pictures of Ah Maos part 1

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Emilee Kang and Regine Tang

Some of you may not know that I have another weakness... other than getting weak at the sight of pretty babes like Felicia or Rui En. Ok, it's not really a weakness, cos many people share the same sentiments as I do on this one...

I like cats. For a very long time as a matter of fact. I think they're really cute. I may not have had any time to keep a cat in my entire life, but I really enjoy their presence. And I enjoy taking pictures of a cat whenever I see one.
Unfortunately, not all cats are very cooperative, cos some of them seem to know that I am gonna snap a pic of them, and they would run off very quickly... prompting me to curse out the "P" word (u know, that very rude word for the female organ).

There are about 14 cats (maybe even more) loitering at the Hougang South area... 7 of them at the ground floor of my block. And yes, this entry is dedicated to all cat lovers and those gals I nickname "Ah Mao". :-)
The cat residing near Mediacorp, taken on 4th September 07.
The very first cat picture I took upon getting the Nokia 3120 camera phone... dated 19th October 2007. This Ah Mao is seen outside my block. I would later name him 'Clyde' due to his on-off relationship wif 'Bonnie'.
Taken at Bedok Central. With scruffy fur, this is one ke lian de mao. (29th Oct 07)

"KUA SI MI!! I'm trying to watch my fave Ch 8 drama, can?" I name this one Garfield due to his orange fur. I hadnt seen him since. (taken at S11 on 30th Oct 07)
This one was lying down on a bench at the block opposite my place (1st Nov 07)
Taken somewhere near my place, I think... I can't remember (4th Nov 07)

'Bonnie', my personal fave Ah Mao. Probably the only one who doesnt mind being stroked by anyone. She even followed me to my doorstep once, serious!! (8th Nov 07)

I personally don't like black cats, cos I think that they are unattractive and ermmm... bring bad luck. (10th Nov 07)

Right after I took picture of this grey cat at Bedok, it ran off very quickly!! (15th Nov 07)
I think this one was taken at Bedok. (21st Nov 07)

This grey cat was loitering at a bridge near Kembangan MRT station. (29th Nov 07)
Somewhere near S11, I believe. (1st Dec 07)
Ah Mao gathering at Bedok on 10th Dec 07. Wonder what they were discussing about... which 4D number to bet on from the license plates of the nearby cars, I think? :-p

I think these two are lovers... ok, I will name them 'Bonnie and Clyde' due to their complex relationship and their occasional moaning!! Yes, these two make love every 3 to 4 weeks... which is kinda sick. And their loud moaning irritates the people in the block all the time.
I saw 'Clyde' last Wednesday (27th Feb). He tried to ask me to help him look for Bonnie. I simply said, "Sorry bro, you better save your talk to someone else, cos I got no time for this mushy stuff."
Cats playing about on Wednesday evening... could they be siblings? I think so.
I believe these two are twin brothers. (28th Feb)

I saw this on my way to the bus stop last Friday (29th Feb). Probably one of the two playful cats I saw earlier on 27th Feb.
On Sunday (2nd March 08) when me and Mum were going out for dinner, we saw 'Bonnie' sitting near the lift.

'Bonnie and Clyde' trying to emulate Romeo and Juliet on Monday night when I was abt to head home.

Bonnie: Romeo Romeo, wherefore art thou? I long for yout touch...

Clyde: Aiyah, I'm here lah! You've been sitting there for the past 30 minutes looking at me, and you still dunno meh? Meh meh meh meh?

I took this yesterday evening on my way home from dinner... this black cat damn lawah... often seen sitting on top of cars!! Perhaps it wanted to cool its butt on shiny metal... you know how hot the weather is these days, causing the pavements to get heated up.

Of course I will continue to take pictures of cats whenever I can... and upload them here :-)

New Ch 5 drama En Bloc

Starring Patrick Teoh, June Lim Liyun, Darren Lim, Nick Shen, Andrea Fonseka, Nathaniel Ho, Rebecca Lim and Lim Kay Tong.

What happens when a family home is about go en bloc?

It’s been all over the papers and discussed at dinner tables around the country: Will my estate go en bloc or not? Singapore has officially gone en bloc crazy.

This new drama takes a deeper look at the issue, zooming in on the Lim family and the consequences of having their estate up for an en bloc sale.

Through that one cataclysmic event, each of the show's eight one-hour episodes explores the dynamics of family relationships, the unfolding of family secrets and how the characters and their relationships are affected and influenced by the sudden onslaught of wealth. There are the reluctant parents (Patrick Teoh and June Lim), who dread the thought of leaving the home they've lived in for decades. There is the eldest son with the troubled past (Darren Lim), the opportunistic younger brother (Nick Shen), the hot-headed young lawyer (Andrea Fonseka), the aimless youngest child (Nat Ho), and the uneasy daughter-in-law (Rebecca Lim). How will this family keep itself together in the midst of their disagreements?

Be sure to catch the debut episode of "En Bloc" tomorrow at 2030 hrs on Channel 5!! ;-)

Magazine and event updates for month of March

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Lance Cade, William Phua and Terence Toh

Woots...!! Nat finally gets his first ever solo coverage... that was very fast indeed! Only one week after gracing the cover of i-weekly with Thomas Ong some more...

And what better way than to appear on the cover of the super-sized U-weekly...!! :-D

He is also featured in 8 days as well as i-weekly (alongside Thomas... pictures are same as the one from last week's issue). Qi Yuwu is also featured inside.

I was kinda sad that I discovered recently that I totally missed out on the Army Career Fair at Marina Square last Sat (mostly cos i didnt know abt it) for Joanne was there... then again, not many people knew abt Jopeh's involvement since it was rather last minute. :-/

But oh well, I guess this will cheer me up? Joanne and Dawn on cover of i-weekly!!

I found out that Sheng Jing Po will be at AMK Hub this Saturday to promote Vitagen once more... I am gonna buy 4 packs of Vitagen, I'm dying to see Fel and take pic wif her again, woohoo!!!

Arghhh, and I found out something else... Fiona, Ekin Cheng, Shawn Yue and director Kelvin Tong will be at Plaza Singapura this coming Wednesday (March 5th) at 6.30 pm to promote "Rule #1"... and they will be heading down to Vivo City to attend the official gala premiare as well!!

Watching "The Leap Years"

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Gayle Nerva, Lilly and Anna

I went to watch "The Leap Years" as promised... at good ol' Vivo City!! I don't know why, but I just got this affinity with the place. Watching the film also helped to destress myself for the upcoming week, where I had to finish up on 2 projects (arghhhh!!!). I admit that I am not really a big fan of romantic films, but hey I don't mind watching one. :-)

There is a reason why Joan Chen is being featured prominently as the middle-aged Li-Ann... Tracy Tan from "My Sassy Neighbor" and "Heartlanders season 1" plays her stepdaughter Dylann (I guess you should know who her on-screen father is, don't you?). Somehow the shifts between the present and flashbacks of the past kinda make the plot more confusing. The show focuses on Li-Ann reminiscing the 16-yr period when she met Jeremy... meeting him for the very first time at a cafe when she turned 24 on Feb 29th. She meets Jeremy again for the next 3 leap years (at ages 28, 32 and 36), each with a different outcome. Qi Yuwu provides emotional support as the childhood friend KS. Vern, Nadya and Paula play Li-Ann's cloest friends with distinct personalities.

Oh ya, there are a few surprises during the 16-yr flashbacks (as in the 4 leap years)... Allan Wu makes a very brief cameo in the film, KS moves on and gets engaged to one of Li-Ann's close friends (3 guesses) and Li-Ann was going to marry a former Power Ranger towards the end of the film.

Yep, I think the film is quite good, I give it 3 out of 5 stars. It may not be a very fantastic film, but hey at least it is much more worth watching than films like "Meet The Spartans" (which I don't intend to watch in cinemas at all). Yet I cant help but think that it's plain silly for both female and male lead to wait at the same place and same time every 4 years (with this trend bcoming too much of an obsession)... I mean come on, who would really do that? Even Dr Catherine Lim, the author of "Leap of Love", thinks that it will be a very naive and silly thing to do.

Fugitive on the run... citizens, be vigilant!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Daniel Craig, Quan Yifeng, Yenny and Joshua Ang

I bet all of you may have known about the latest news here... you may have seen this notice pasted inside buses or trains or shopping centers... everyone please be on the lookout for this guy!!

"Jemaah Islamiyah (JI) detainee Mas Selamat Kastari, escaped from the Whitley Road Detention Centre at 1605 hours, local time.
Mas Selamat was the leader of the Singapore JI network and is presently at large. He is about 1.58 m tall and walks with a limp on the left leg. He is not known to be armed. Anyone who renders any assistance to him is committing a grave offence.
Call 999 immediately if you see him!!"

God knows what this man is capable of doing... I hope he gets caught soon and tighter security measures exercised. I bet his family had long disowned him since the day they found out that he is part of the JI...
