HOPE program and Courts Digital event on Sat

Happy Birthday to...
9th May- Yihan, Hui Yuan and Bibie
10th May- William Regal and Nuriman

Internet connection for house com has gone AWOL once more due to some unknown reasons... so looks like I have to resort to internet cafe once more. Be patient for photos...

This is what I did yesterday... I left the house at abt 9 am, reached Commonwealth a few minutes before 10 am. I then walked to Faith Community Church (just a few seconds walk)to attend some HOPE programme from 1030 to 1500 hrs... it's a programme for those who had either been seeking for jobs for months or those who intend to make a career switch. I attended 4 seminars... Personality & Career Choice, Resume & Interview Skills, Christian Outlook on Crisis and Facing Retrenchment (all located at the 4th level). Found out that my personality trait lies within the Patience zone... slow in approach and focused more on people.

Then I did a "Mas Selamat" (haha no lah, just kidding!) by quietly retreating from the church at ard 3 pm (halfway through the last programme on retrenchment that is), boarding the MRT and taking a nap all the way to Tampines. I entered Tampines 1 Shopping Centre for the very first time, and saw a few models dressed up like mannequins. Then I took shuttle bus to Courts Megastore, where I joined a few friends to root for... none other than Joanne!! She was the co-host for some fashion parade promoting the latest IT gadgets (laptops, cameras, camcorders). The female models were quite an eyeful (esp the one in black and whie striped dress)... the Malay host was way too comical and 'unforgiving', he kept teasing someone he found very familiar, haha. Obviously i ain't gonna say who, cos she's already feeling malu enough :-p

Ayway after that, I took the shuttle bus back to Tampines to have dinner with some friends at Tampines Mall, then took bus back home. Ended the day by watching "Sheng Siong Show", "Over The Hedge", "Guess Who", "Hairspray" and a bit of "Spider-man 3".

Pictures at Tampines 1 and Tampines Courts Megastore to be uploaded in an upcoming entry... or if you really cannot wait and wanna see some of the pics (not by me!), you may go to this link (belonging to my friend)... http://www.facebook.com/home.php?ref=home#/album.php?aid=77341&id=635464901&ref=nf

Aftermath of Star Awards 2009

Knowing that there was a post-party going on right after the ceremony, and that most of the artistes would come out only after 11 pm, I decided to head to the reception to chill out for a while with some fans of Andie Chen. Fearing that I might miss out on something great, I set off to RG, meeting Ice along the way. I noticed that the Elves were quite an innovative bunch, esp when they stood on top of a lorry and waved their posters/LED boards. :-p

Pictures taken at RG between 2300 to 2330 hrs.

2305 hrs- a van drove out and lots of young fans rushed forward... it was Zoe inside. But I chose not to take pic with her, esp when that abomination (with horrid hairstyle) was present among them. I realized that he had mellowed a lot and become rather moody as of late, so I didn't provoke him at all (even if I were close to getting into another berserker rage). No way am I gonna let one single individual ruin my mood whatsoever. At least I don't have any anger management issues for now.

A few minutes later, a white BMW drove out and parked a little further from Radiogate. It was Hanwei, 3-time Best Actor winner! Thank goodness I didn't miss out. I managed to congratulate him, get his signature and take pic with him once more.

Fast forward to 2325 hrs, Yvonne Lim drove out and took pic with her fanclub. It was at around this time that Jeanette drove out to mingle with her fanclub for quite long.

Soon after came Nat Ho, I didnt know he was present for the event too. I certainly hope that he would get into Top 20 next year.

2335 hrs- Joanne drove out, and was immediately greeted with lots of congratulatory handshakes. Obviously very happy for her. :-)

2345 hrs- Felicia drove out, and the fans gave her some cake (dunno what significance, unfortunately).

2355 hrs- Elvin finally arrived, and Jesseca was with him too! Shuai ge and mei nu... Naomi even remarked that Jess looked a bit like Rui En from afar. :-)

0020 hrs- right after Elvin and Jess left, I hailed a taxi and went back home. Lights out at 0045 hrs and got out of bed before 8 am.

P.S. I am quite aware about a certain A hiding her face away upon the arrival of B, reminds me too much of a similar scenario that happened in mid 2007. I may not know anything about the animosity between A and B, but it still saddens me greatly to learn that they are no longer in good terms since last year. Some things in life are beyond our control...

Joanne's birthday gathering

Happy Birthday to Jade Seah and Atiqah

Yesterday I went for Joanne's (advanced) birthday gathering at Bottle Tree Park. It nearly didn't happen due to a downpour that happened in the early afternoon, but thank goodness the place was held in an indoor conference room.

In the morning, I went for projection duty for morning service, Word was taken from Joshua chapter 24. After that, me and Mum had lunch at Heartland Mall. And prior to going to washroom, I took the chance to purchase a simple gift for Joanne at a Christian bookshop. Then came heavy downpour that kinda bummed everyone's moods. Funny thing was, after Mum and myself reached home at 1 pm, the rain suddenly stopped! Talk about strange luck... I left the house at abt 2.15 pm after watching a bit of "That Thing You Do". Never expected the bus to reach Khatib rather quickly in 30 minutes.

Of course the rain came again later on at 3 plus, but fortunately it was only in the form of drizzles. To kill time, I took pictures of some huge fish in the pond and played a bit of puzzle games via an arcade machine within the games section. About 20 of us fans (including committee) assembled at the conference room and the party started at 4.15 pm with Joanne's arrival. Of the 3 groups (P, E, H), Team H (I was in it) won with the highest points. Team P who had the lowest points overall had to do a forfeit by er... writing a word with their butts (yeah I know, kinda disturbing). Afterwards came autograph session, gift exchange, individual pic taking, group photo. The gathering ended at 6.20 pm with an afterword and Joanne driving off. After petting a xiaomimei from my team, I went to Northpoint to have quick dinner, then headed back home to watch Mission Impossible 3 and a few more shows.

Heavy rain as seen from Kovan Hub

Arghhh... I not too happy with the male artistes list... I realized taht there are quite a lot veteran artistes there (those aged above 45). But I am totally cool with the female artistes list. This is who I think should be included and who should not...

SHOULD be in list: Nat Ho, Shaun Chen, Dasmond Koh
Not in list, but kinda understandable: Edmund Chen (no longer full-timer), Terence Cao, Jeff Wang
SHOULD NOT even be in list at all: Marcus Chin, Henry Thia, Gurmit Singh (sorry)

Now the "real countdown" begins... I have exactly one month to consider whether or not to request for tickets for the live show, even if the voting system may be as screwed up as always...
