HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO CHRISTOPHER LEE (COUNT DOOKU), ZHENG GEPING, YIRU, MAREESA AND BRIAN KENDRICK

Wowwee can get to see My Precious yet again barely a week after the event at Raffles City... and guess what, it's the third time I got to see Felicia at Bishan J8!! She was the All-Asian female winner for the 2003 Star Search finals. Other Star Search alumni include Ivy Lee (SS 1993 winner) Carole Lin (SS 1995 finalist), Ix Shen (SS 1995 male winner), Brandon Wong (SS 1995 finalist), Yvonne Lim (SS 1995 finalist) and Vivian Lai (SS 1999 All-Asian female winner). For the second time, SS 1990 winner Chew Chor Meng was absent from a roadshow. The event was hosted by YES 933 DJ Siau Jia Hui (who was much shorter than even Vivian!!) and Joey Swee (a SS 1997 semi-finalist). More info on the aforementioned celebs in a later post
While it was good to see fans like Esther, Liting, Terence, Rina and Eric... nothing could prepare me for a great shock by the unexpected arrival of... THE SOURCE?!?! :-O

Talk on Cyber Awareness

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ERIC BISCHOFF, WAN HUA AND BEE GEOK

I never thought I would return to my old school for a cyber awareness roadshow... and it was about 5 years since I last stepped into ITE Tampines. Makes me wonder how I manage to graduate from that place in first place, and how I could even survive 2 yrs in that institute (which is many times bigger than the Bedok campus). Going around the place, I noticed a few minor changes... the washrooms look similar to the ones at ITE Macpherson, the library has become empty (arghhh what a shame), the fish ponds are all barren... and that was about it. Oh, and the teachers who had taught me years before are still around, as I had observed on the staff notice board.
Anyway, I noticed by the end of today that THE WHOLE CLASS managed to show up for the roadshow, and most of the usual latecomers (Mr H and Mr D... I haf nothing to say) managed to report to the auditorium/school on time. We got to learn the dangers of getting our privacy intruded as well as how online predators can fool many innocent online users so easily (like how "Blue Cherry" managed to coax the simple-minded Ah Boon into giving him his money). Not to forget how rumors, racist remarks and rude remarks from blogs can sometimes infuriate or cause emotional hurt to others reading the blog (like how bimbotic Cheryl's blog posting on Amy's huge crush on Boon caused Amy emotional stress and also landed Cheryl in deep trouble with the teachers). Worst cyber crime of all, as seen in a short film made sometime between 1998 to 2001 (Jamie Yeo who had made her TV debut as Tammy in "Growing Up" in late 1998, was featured on the cover of a student's 8 days magazine), has gotta be the one where two teenagers hacked into the school website and tried valiantly to uplaod a provocative site on their form teacher (whom they dislike).
After the talk was done, we could all go our separate ways. But having gone through this seminar on cyber awareness has made me more aware on the dangers of abusive blog entries... and thus I will cut down on the negative stuff and use the blog for good. As the saying goes... "with great power comes great responsibility".

Info on Kraven the Hunter

The next villain i want to talk about is Kraven the Hunter.

BEGINNINGS

Sergei Kravinoff was born in Stalingrad, a district in Russia. As Kraven the Hunter, he was a maniacal big game hunter who sought to defeat Spider-Man to prove that he was the greatest hunter in the world. Unlike other hunters, he typically disdained the use of guns or bow and arrows preferring to take down large dangerous animals with his bare hands even though he often made elaborate preparations to weaken a quarry before hand. He also used a mystical serum to give him similar strength to Spider-Man, but even without the serum he was still a threat to the wall-crawler. Spider-Man proved a frustrating quarry because Kraven continually underestimated the superhero's resourcefulness.

POWERS AND ABILITIES

By ingesting mystical potions, Kraven and his heirs are able to gain superhuman strength and speed approaching, but not equaling that of Spider-Man. These same potions also slow the aging process, for example, at the time of the original Kraven's death he was over 70 years old and he appeared to be in the prime of his life (though age was beginning to affect him).
Agility, reflexes, stamina, and endurance are also enhanced. Kraven and his heirs more or less constantly ingest these potions and herbs, so they normally have these abilities, but without the effects of these potions they still possess physical strength and agility of the level of an Olympic athlete.
Aside from the augmentation of the mystical herbs, the original Kraven was a brilliant tactician and gifted hunter and tracker. He was a master of many forms of armed and unarmed combat. He was very familiar with medicine and with exotic poisons and tranquilizers. His sons also possess(ed) knowledge in these areas.

The Spider-Man character database is coming to an end in just a few days... the next villain I wanna share is some big-sized fella who appears in the video games for Spider-Man 2 and 3... the unstoppable RHINO.

BEGINNINGS

The Rhino was initially Aleksei Sytsevich, a poor immigrant from Russia who was desperate to pay for the rest of his family to come to America. With little education and no real skills, the only paying jobs Sytsevich could get were using his impressive strength and musculature as an enforcer for various criminal organizations. One day he was contacted by some Eastern Bloc agents, who offered him a vast sum of money for participating in an incredible experiment. Sytsevich agreed, and was subjected to intensive chemical and radioactive treatment, which bonded a super-strong polymer to his skin and greatly augmented his strength and speed. He was given the code name "Rhino", and was sent to work as a super-assassin.

POWERS AND ABILITIES

As a result of being bonded to a powerful polymer suit, as well as being innately powerful, the Rhino possesses tremendous physical strength. He also has heightened levels of speed, stamina, and a high degree of resistance to physical injury. The Rhino's costume renders him highly resistant to conventional injury, withstanding high caliber bullets, temperature extremes, and great impacts without injury.
Originally the source of the Rhino's powers was his costume which resembles a rhinoceros, which was once permanently attached. Eventually, the abilities of the costume merged with the body of the wearer. He has been physically improved over the years by several other villains. Rhino's strength and durability is unmatched by other Marvel characters like the Juggernaut and the Hulk.

Hoho Mdm Rashidah had come after us liao... apparently she wasn't very happy with the overall attendance for the past few weeks. She came during Web Design lesson to talk to us regarding our detiorating attendance, telling us on the actual truth behind Fadzyl's and Hari's expected expulsion (as well as the current whereabouts of that despicable HUTT Jay... anyone remember her???). And FINALLY, she said she's gonna deal with those two super-ignorant "student councillors" Ninatrie and Illi for spending too much time in their 'major tasks' and so little time in their studies... abt time those two A$$-clowns get their just desserts. And three of da guys are finally going to have haircuts... can't wait to see their new hairstyles by the end of this month, hehehe :-D
I dont know what's wrong with those few people who either reach school real late or don't come to school everyday or even head to work before the end of the last lesson... but they seriously need to get some sense knocked into their thick skulls. What I do know is that Danial and Em are already in critical danger of getting fired, NUFF SAID. Don't get me wrong, I am not gonna gloat over other people's failures, for they are the ones who got themselves into such a big mess in first place. I dont even think that the few students would really respond to the wake-up calls, but I do know that the guy who is part of a sextet hip-hop group seems to be turning a deaf ear on Mdm Rashidah's advice and not taking it seriously at all... so I can sort of see his true colors (altho I really hate to say this). And I DARE SAY THIS OPENLY BECAUSE I AM TOTALLY DISPLEASED WITH YOUR FREQUENT AWOL OR SUPER-LATECOMING FOR THE PAST FEW MONTHS, MR H. EVEN IF YOU LIVE VERY FAR FROM BEDOK, YOU STILL NEED TO WAKE UP EARLY AND COME TO SCHOOL ON TIME, WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT!! YOU BETTER PUT IN MORE EFFORT IN YOUR STUDIES, OR ELSE I WON'T HELP YOU ANYMORE.

Today is the start of the Gemini star

I never thought that Felicia would appear in yet another event on Saturday afternoon... in fact, I only knew abt it on Friday afternoon thru Steph (must give u a big hug!!). And coincidentally, the venue for that outreach was just located near CHIJMES (where the wedding scene took place days before!!).

Fel looked very stunning in a maroon dress (truth be told, she looks good in anything!) and sang "My Star" really well... she then wentinside for a short while, and came out a few minutes later to chat with the personnel involved in the event (including guest-of-honor Mr Wong Kan Seng), as well as take pictures with her ever endearing fans. She then left the place at around 1350 hrs, and I kick myself for being too shy to even say a word to her, like compliment on her lovely voice or ask her to take pic wif me again (but it wouldnt really work, cos we alrady did so days ago). Fel wasnt the only celeb present btw... Irene Ang aka Rosie of PCK fame (which had ended its run just months ago) made an appearance, interviewing some cancer surivivors about their expereinces with the life-threatening disease.

That retard code-named Mr SK was also present that day, and he was one of 50 lucky people to report at the place early and get a picture wif Fel. His over-excitable and annoying behavior (not to forget mentioning his backstabbing characteristics) sickened me so much, I had to snap a few pics of him from the 2nd level (makes me sound like a stalker ya?). But in due respect to that poor soul's privacy, I won't publish his face in this blog, only to do so 'when the time is right'. Enough said.
