Rooting for Jon at a variety show
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Todd Grisham, Teck Song and Felicia Sun

Yesterday...
Another day in school... a relaxing time during Audio Post-Production lesson, followed by a rather hectic and brain-racking time during CUS lesson. If I haf to be honest abt one thing, I seriously think that the BUSINESS PLAN ASSIGNMENT TOTALLY SUCKS!!! We're not even Business students, and yet we haf to fill in everything required for the Business Plan scheme. I nearly went bonkers after having wasted a lot of brainpower on such a meaningless assignment. And I'm already thinking of seeting up a barber shop for guys wif unacceptable hairstyles. I shan't mention any names here...
I got back home right after CUS lesson, taking a short rest at home before setting off to AMK for a quick dinner. Then took bus to Mediacorp... man I tell u, there was heavy traffic along Lornie Road!! But still ok, I managed to reach Mediacorp after 10 mins of 'agonising', and get ticket for the NTUC show from Eveline... I couldn't help but blush a little when I saw Daphne (who seems to be looking prettier these days). There was also another mei nu (wif long wavy hair), but forgot her name. Throughout the show, Jonathan sang two songs, the first ("Yi Lu Shang You Ni") at the start of the show, and the second one ("Xiang Xing") somewhere at the half-way mark. Throughout the show, some of us were covering our faces with the Xi Ji Qing Qian 25 posters, myself included (heh). The rest of the show comprised of various games... the last one being the most interesting, some kind of board game which guest starred Lloyd the male winner from "Hey Gorgeous". Somehow Chor Meng didnt really seem like himself, due to obvious reasons. I hope he doesnt go bonkers like his character Kaida in "The Golden Path".
Right after the show, we headed to Radiogate to wait for Jon! At first we thought that he had left already, but nevertheless continued to wait at the shelter. Jon finally drove out at 2210 hrs in his red van. Turns out that he was involved in a rather long meeting... we were all super delighted when he came out of his van to take pic wif us, and yep here's the pic I took wif Mr 'zui chun hen xing gan'. :-)
After that, all of the Jonatics went off with big smiles on our faces. It was only when I changed bus from Hougang Ave 5... that a heavy downpour came crashing down!!
Talk about strange luck... I managed to reach home without getting soaked at all. Well, maybe a little... I think God above may have understood the pain in most people's hearts after the loss of MC King... hence the heavy downpour.

Farewell, MC King

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Adrian Pang, Tze Mian and Zhan Wei
Seeing the casket containing MC King's body being rolled into the incinerator (yesterday afternoon) in the following Youtube video (link provided) reminded me back at the time when my uncle passed away, nearly 3 years ago on 28th July 2005. Back then, my parents, my brother, the rest of my family and all of my uncle's closest friends (godchildren included) were feeling exactly the same way as the artistes and guests did in MC King's wake. Likewise when my grandma died of a stroke back in 1991 when I was only a young kid.

If I haf to be honest abt one thing, I actually wanted to attend his wake either on Saturday or Sunday to pay my last respects to MC King (NOT star-spotting), but couldnt find any free time to do so. I dedicate this verse from an Elton John song, "Candle In The Wind", to the late MC King... with a slight edit to the chorus.
And it seems to me you lived your life
Like a candle in the wind
Never fading with the sunset
When the rain set in
And your footsteps will always fall here
Along Singapore's greenest hills
Your candle's burned out long before
Your legend ever will

School reopened
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Hong Huifang and Shawn Tok
My prayers were answered... the new timetable (for the last term of school that is) held more promise than ever. For most days, lessons end rather early... earliest being at 12 pm for Friday. The only day that ends real late is Wednesday, at 5 pm no less.
As expected, there were less than 10 people present for the first lesson, but that shouldnt really matter, cos there wasnt much stuff covered for the APP (Audio Post Production) lesson anyway.
And like I said earlier, I not gonna care too much abt those who either come to school late or hardly come to school... the only I would care abt is finishing the last term of DMD and get the F off for good.
And yep, lessons end early tomorrow, so that means... I can go for early dinner and head to Mediacorp early as well!! WOO HOO :-D

Some thoughts before end of school vacation
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Raymond Chen and Sufian
I am so NOT looking forward to the final school term... the only thing I want is for the next timetable to be BETTER than the last one. Meaning, I dont want too many days to end super-late... like Mr Syed's Advanced 3D lessons ending at 6 pm on Tues, Wed and Thurs (and risk taking a super-crowded bus back home). And with a few more weeks to go, I am uncertain whether I would be able to complete the portfolio project (on the Mezacron game campaign) on time before the term comes to a close. In terms of studies, I am going to care only for myself, not for the other classmates (well ok, maybe a few). I can't help but feel a little 'whatever' and 'bleah' regarding the last few months of my 2 years in DMD course, in a school with a managing system that seems more screwed up than anyone could ever imagine.
On a personal note, I hope that Tuesday's lessons end early, just so I would be given sufficient time to have early dinner and rush down to Mediacorp to watch a certain variety show, which involves one of my faves of course... can't reveal who that person is yet, but I assure you that it's not a princess, but rather a shuai ge... one who has won Hunk of The Year for The New Paper's Flame Awards and Channel 5 awards in 2006 :-p

Tragic passing of a local celeb
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to...
3rd Jan- Jim Ross and Valerie Soh
4th Jan- Wanran and Joan
5th Jan- Fengquan and Jun Hao
Somebody must be thinking of me, otherwise I wouldn't be sneezing non-stop... on Wednesday and Thursday that is. As for the nightmare I had on Thurs night, it may be some 'indication' to my past involvement with the church I once went to before 'defecting' to PLMC... or maybe not. Better not think too much about it.
Other than Zoe's Birthday bash at Bugis that Im obviously not interested in, there are no other interesting events for this week, sianz. And Im already suffering from 'Princess Withdrawal'... the last princess I saw was nearly 2 weeks ago. Thank goodness the many artistes I saw at Vivo City recently included a few hot babes (Mich Chong, Jade Seah, Shauna Simon, etc), otherwise I would be going 'emo' yet again. Haha yeah right, as if I am as sensitve as a certain Mr EY... -_-"
Yesterday when I started my shift, 3 friends made a super surprising appearance at the workplace at 4 plus... Peiling, Steph and Syaz (huh!! All Fire Stone beings I noticed). Peiling still looked the same ol' rock chic, Syaz is starting to look like Paul Twohill wif his hair growing longer, and Steph de zui chun yue lai yue xin gan (serious!!). Couldnt stop blushing the moment I saw Steph, at one point I even felt tempted to pinch her cheeks. At first I felt like dedicating a song to her, but that would have to wait another day... cos I just discovered 2 more pieces of news that either hit closer to home, or hit home STRAIGHT!!
1) The news that hit closer to home... ok, this news isn't really so shocking since the deceased is already past her prime. Princess Galyani Vadhana, older sister of Thailand's King Bhumibol (my personal fave, heh!), died on Wednesday at the age of 84. Hmmm same age as Mentor Minister Lee Kuan Yew. Princess Galyani had been hospitalised since June last yr, and suffered an infarction on the left side of her brain as a result of occlusion of a cerebral artery. Dunno what kind of cancer she got though. What I do know is that Her Royal Highness has gone up to a place where there won't be any suffering or pain... Rest in peace, Princess Galyani
2) The news that hit home straight...
Local actor-cum-comedian-cum-host Lan Qinxi aka MC King passed away??? It was my mum who told me the shocking news (which she heard from radio) the moment I got back home late last night... I knew she wouldnt be bluffing at all. Strange how come my eyebrows didnt twitch as much as the other time when Bhutto got slain. But really so shocking and unpredictable... last time I saw MC King was probably at the Star Awards itself (methinks). Some of his last few appearances on TV were as the Celestial Hound in "Happily Ever After", as one of Wenwei's (Miss Kindness!!) colleagues in "Honor and Passion", and as a gangster in "My Father My Daughter". To think he would suddenly get breathing difficulties and leave this world abruptly... at only 39 years old. I have already learnt never to take my friends or family for granted after the passing of my uncle 2 yrs ago. The demise of Jasmine Seah last yr further secured that vow.
Rest in peace, MC King... you will be greatly missed by many. May God bless your soul and watch over your loved ones :-(
