Singapore Motorshow 2008 (ooh yeah!!)

Happy Birthday to Hazel and Edmund Leck
Rest in peace, Paul Newman

Finally, I got to go for the Singapore Motorshow!! I missed out on the Motorshow in 2006 due to studies and (shudder) work at that dreadful place in Shaw House. And since the F1 race was held this week, ticket admission for 27th and 28th of this month had been discounted!! And this time round, I got to see a few familiar faces... :-)

This was what happened yesterday...

I left the house at 12 plus, had lunch at Kovan area, and then took a bus to Beach Road, where I bought some earplugs from an army-themed stall, for safety purposes. Then I walked to Suntec City, where I decided to purchase a ticket for the Motorshow (which was held earlier to coincide with the F1 Grand Prix).

Upon entering the exhibition hall at Level 4 of Suntec Convention, first sector I got to see was the Honda sector. Got a few ang moh chicks, they look rather seductive.

Later on at 3 pm, Michelle Chia graced the stage for some upclose-and-personal segment. Even as I stood a few metres away from her, I could tell that she is rather short (abt 1.64 m I say). And even though Mich Chia is one of the more popular actresses these days (having started showbiz since young), I wasn't too keen on going up on stage to chat with her, simply cos she's not among my faves (and what's more, she's already got a boyfriend). If it were one of the princesses, I would definitely reconsider my options, hehe. ;-p

It was around this time that I discovered there was a very long queue for some Stunt Performance. Knowing that it would be too late for me to get a ticket for the stunt show, I opted to explore the place a bit more.

Trailer and truck types from Izusu

Bus types from Opel

Models from Subaru Motors. There were way too many cars under Subaru, so I decided to focus on the babes instead (though only some of them are passable IMO).

I instantly recognized one of the Subaru babes as Maggie Tan, a former DOND (Deal or No Deal) suitcase girl, the one who bears some resemblance to Fiona Xie. ;-)

Aha, so that's the Subaru Challenge! It's an annual event, where many people (mostly male) have to place their right hand on the hand symbol on any part of the car and hold it there for as long as possible (they need to have a high tolerance level if they are really in for the challenge, esp when it comes to holding their bladder). Even if you have to make a phone call (like what the guy in lime green shirt and white cap is doing), you still have to leave your hand on the car (so much for the car feeling 'violated' for many hours with so many hands on it, ha!!). The Subaru Challenge is usually held at Ngee Ann City, but this year it's held in the midst of the Motorshow at Suntec. The last man standing after 72 hours (I think) will get to take the car home, and win some cash as well!!

Don't you think this babe looks a bit like Lin Chi Ling? :-)

Sweet-looking models for Nissan Motors

Trailer types from Mitsubishi Fuso (a bus included). Ok lah, the babes look quite passable here, never mind if they may not be as slender as the others. :-)

Models for Stamford Cars. Some of them don't look so enthusiastic...

Race car simulator for kids

Mini-circuit for toy racing cars aimed for kids, though adults can also join in the fun. The downside: you have to pay 4 dollars for one game, in the form of 4 1-dollar coins. Ha!! As if I'm even willing to volunteer...

Cutie pie model sponsoring for Polygon mountain bikes

Smokin hot babe posing for a Honda type bike

These hotties sponsoring for Pioneer vans and products don't really look appealing IMO, but they sure can party for hours. :-)

Denso car models

Hey, that's Charlyene!! A sweetie pie whom I knew via Friendster, and she was recently crowned 2nd runner-up for Miss Singapore World. Man she looks innocent. She noticed me first before I did, and then told me something else which got me even more delighted... still, I'd never thought we would meet each other in person at a place like this :-)

Charlyene went on to pose with 2 models from Falken Motors. Don't you think the one on the right looks a bit like Jade Seah? :-)

Soon enough, I saw 2 babes (with hot legs) at the Sony X-plod booth, and I immediately recognised one of them... the one with the wavy hair is none other than... GERMAINE!! :-O I dunno the name of the other model though... or rather, I forgot to ask due to my shock and shyness. Still, I got to take pic with both of them!! :-p

Before leaving the place, I overcame my shyness and took picture with Charlyene, then I told her that she looks a bit like Felicia. She replied that many people had said the same thing about her (Damn!! And I'd thought I was the only one), but she didn't really think so (though she took it as a compliment of course).

Upon leaving Suntec, I spent the next 2 hours trying to find a suitable place to view the cars racing along the track for the F1 SingTel Grand Prix, but all efforts were in vain. I couldn't take picture of any of the cars cos they were going way too fast!! And the fences were sealed up with long banners to prevent the people at ground level from seeing the cars. Hmmm, the organising team sure is smart...

A group of Spanish people rooting for Fernando Alonso outside Gate 3, located a few metres from Raffles City. Little did they know that their beloved Renault champ would meet up with another case of deja vu during the qualifying rounds... his race car got a malfunction and he finished off at 15th place!!

A few minutes before 8 pm, I gave up on trying to get a good view on the race, opting to go back home and watch the F1 Qualifying rounds from TV instead. No pictures of the cars racing, but I did record the ear-piercing sound of the cars (that's 130 decibels, mind you!!) using the recorder function of my camera phone, with my earplugs on obviously.

Preparing to watch the F1 Qualifying Rounds

Happy Birthday to Eneida and Andy Lau (the HK singer, not Gurmit's character from "Calefare"!!)

Yesterday I didn't go to watch the qualifying rounds of the F1 SingTel Grand Prix, mostly because I had a rather bad flu, and also because I prefer to watch the Qualifying Rounds at home first. The flu could be a factor resulting from one of these 3 possible reasons...

  1. the terrible downpour on Friday morning
  2. contracting the flu bug from someone else
  3. someone might be cursing me (ha, I'm just being superstitous)

I'm inclined to think of Reason No 3 as being the most likely reason, but on second thought, I feel that Reason No 2 could indeed be the most likely one. There's been more and more people sneezing these days, either in a train or bus or anywhere in general. It's been quite some time since i last got struck by the flu bug...

Today I feel slightly better (save for the phlegm in my throat), and I read today's newspaper that there are a few spots where you can get to watch the F1 race for free (haha!!), located mostly around Temasek Boulevard region. The 6 different spots are located within Suntec City, Marina Square and Pan Pacific Hotel. There's also warnings provided at each location... "Earplugs Recommended!!". I guess I'm going to Golden Mile market to buy earplugs first, and then perhaps watch a movie at Suntec or Bugis in the evening, before the 2nd Qualifying Race actually begins. Hey, it's better to be safe then sorry, right? :-)

Oh, and I finally saw the MediaCorp F1 car residing in the middle of Bugis Junction, just outside McDonald's, after months of delays... :-)

F1 SingTel Grand Prix debuting

Happy Birthday to Adam Koh and Rebecca Lim

The Grand Prix is gonna debut tonight!! I bet it's gonna be as thrilling as most other F1 races, or even as exciting as the Boonta Eve Classic seen in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace... the one that Anakin Skywalker won of course. I need to look for a good location to see the action 'live' tonight and tomorrow... :-)

And I do have something to say to that abomination known as Koh Tze Seng!! Listen up, young man!! You may have gotten a stint in the F1 pit stop crew or whatsoever, but you are still a disgusting freak, and you are the REAL DONKEY. You may be slim, healthy and 'sexy' now, but your heart, mind and soul are still as corrupt as ever, and you are forever full of crap. Who ever said I was going to outwin you?? What happened to "Mr Discerning" huh? Fancy you insulting your parents and even your grandma for trying to stop you from spending so much money on your stuff or wasting your time on your meaningless and WORTHLESS activities. Do you think I like to insult you??? The more you spew nonsense, the more uncomfortable I get, and the more I wish you were dead!!

Believe it or not, I'm actually dying to search for you one of the 3 days during the F1 SingTel Grand Prix, and see how you respond upon seeing my 'ugly face'. Then again, I'll rather wait another day, and then when that day comes, I will proceed to hunt you down and give you an ass-whooping you will never, ever forget!!

And one more thing, MKP... you are like a leopard who never changes its spots, a bigtime jerk who will forever be unforgiven in the eyes of many. I will never forgive you for who you are and what you've done... and I do hope that someday God can forgive for what I do to you.

And that's the bottom line, cause Tanat said so!!

Pics of the Impossible Journey

Happy Birthday to WIll Smith and Kailin

Whoa, I have to say that it was indeed a mind-blowing experience at the Central Promenade last night! I think we have 3 new "Jumpers" here in Singapore... they have gone through a feat that would put Nightcrawler and Blink to shame. Til now, I'm still wondering how it's even possible for the telportation to occur legitimately, in front of so many people!! That's precisely the reason why the Mega Illusion is titled "Impossible Journey".

Yesterday after knocking off from work, I was unable to teleport from my workplace at Victoria Street, I resorted to Clarke Quay by foot. The walk took abt 20 minutes, and I had a quick dinner at Subway upon reaching the place. It was there that I met up with Darren, Keane and Terence.

By 7 plus, the promenade was packed with people, and the host warmed things up by inviting 4 guys on stage (Terence as one of them) to do a modified version of the Las Ketchup dance. Couldn't stop laughing at this one... :-D

For the next 5 minutes, we watched videos on some of JC Sum's and Ning's most memorable tricks. Last year's Mega Illusion involved JC teleporting from the ground level to the 50th level of the UOB building in only 5 seconds!!

Then came J C Sum and Magic Babe Ning at 7.40 pm. Ning looks really smokin' hawt, never mind if she looks kinda skinny. And JC looks... like his usual self (aiyah, you know that the guys obviously favor the hot babe). The magic duo brought in 3 lucky youngsters (late teens to early 20s)... namely Gerard, Crystal and Joscelin. Crystal looks really cuuuute, she happened to be a part-time model. :-)

Firstly, JC wrote down Gerard's name, a country name (Japan in this case) and drew a flower on a postcard. He then tore it into pieces and passed one half to Gerald, and the other half to Ning who procedded to the other end of Clarke Quay. And as we could see from Ning's walk along with security, a normal walk would take about 2 to 3 minutes.

The 3 youngsters putting on their blindfolds, and then entering the 'teleportation pods'.

2.5 seconds later, they were gone!! And they crossed over to the other end!! The fans simply went wild with disbelief and astonishment... myself included of course! :-O

Ning shows the 2 halves of the postcard being restored. And to end off the show, the 3 "Jumpers" entered the main pod, and disappeared in 3 seconds!! Wonder where they went...

JC and Ning went for an interview from reporters from Channel 5, 8 and Channel NewsAsia on the stage by the side of the river. And then after that, there was an autograph-cum-phototaking session.

Ole! Me with JC and Ning. I blushed a little after telling Ning that she looked very cute in the FHM top 100 booklet. :-p

Oh, there were also 3 "mannequins" (they're real men for your info!!) who paraded around the place, drawing second glances from people everywhere. Even their watches are fake. I nearly got a 'heart attack' when one of them stood next to me. Too bad I can't label them as "kiam pa", simply because... they have no face!!

After JC and Ning left the place, the few of us went back separately (Keane had left as soon as theperformance ended). I had supper with Terence at Kovan area before walking home. I think I may want to watch their weekly shows at The Arena one of these days!! :-)

Impossible Journey is TONIGHT!!

Happy Birthday to Joanna and Christine

Tonight at 7.30 pm, Singapore's very own magaician JC Sum and Magic Babe Ning will be performing a Mega Illusion at the Promenade located at the outskirts of Central, along Clarke Quay... they will attempt to teleport (yes, you read that correctly!) 3 lucky shoppers from Central to the other side of the Singapore River in only 2.5 seconds!! It's a one-in-a-lifetime experience you can't afford to miss!! ;-)

Stay tuned for pictures of this extraordinary encounter in the next post... ;-)

Behold... my new championship! :-)

Happy Birthday to Matt Hardy, Ben Yeo, Xuehua, Kenneth Chen and Daniel Lee
Start of the Libra star

Some of you blog readers may have noticed a slight change in my primary picture in this blog. Ok, truth is...a few days ago, I had been awarded the WWE Championship (early 2000 era) by one of my most trusted army friends Fauzi. He already got a WWE Championship Title (Winged Eagle edition, 80s to 90s era) from his cousin on his birthday (which was last month), and he said that I was the only one worthy of the title. A billion thanks for the gift, Fauzi!! You bet I will enjoy a' lifelong reign' as WWE Champ... ;-)

And so I bring to you the new Undisputed WWE Champion... ME!! :-p

So who would like to challenge me for the coveted prize?

You can't see me!! Cause I'm the champ, and you're NOT!!

The WWE Superstars who had been WWE Champion under this "Undisputed" design (April 2002- April 2005) were...

  1. Triple H (17th March 2002- 21st April 2002)
  2. Hulk Hogan (21st April 2002- 19th May 2002)
  3. The Undertaker (19th May 2002- 21st July 2002)
  4. The Rock (21st July 2002- 25th August 2002)
  5. Brock Lesnar (25th August 2002 -17th November 2002; 30th March 2003- 27th July 2003; 15th September 2003- 15th February 2004)
  6. The Big Show (17th November 2002- 15th December 2002)
  7. Kurt Angle (15th December 2002- 30th March 2003; 27th July 2003- 15th September 2003)
  8. Eddie Guerrero (15th February 2004- 27th June 2004)
  9. John Bradshaw Layfield (27th June 2004- 4th April 2005)
  10. John Cena (won title at Wrestlemania 21 on 4th April 2005; changed design into the Spinner type one week later on 12th April 2005)

Highlights during the era of the Undisputed WWE Title design:

  1. Prior to Brock Lesnar's first reign, the WWE Champion can defend the title on either Raw or Smackdown.
  2. Before the unveiling of the new design, the titles came as 2 separate titles, the Classic WWE Title (Circular design in late 90s) and the Big Gold Belt once used as the WCW Championship. Chris Jericho, the first ever Undisputed Champion, was the only individual to hold both title bets simultaneously from December 2001 to March 2002.
  3. A week after the first WWE Draft on 1st April 2002, then co-owner Ric Flair awarded this new title design to Triple H, making him the first Superstar to hold this new design.
  4. The Undertaker was the only person from the above list to hold the WWE title in under 3 title designs (prior to the Spinner Belt edition)... the WWF Winged Eagle design (1983-1998 timeframe), the WWF Circular design (1998-2001 timeframe), and the Undisputed Title design (2002-2005 timeframe).
  5. The oldest person to hold the championship under this title design was Hulk Hogan at 48 yrs old 8 mths. He is the only Superstar in the list not to have held the Circular design of the WWE Title (but he did hold the Winged Eagle Title in his first 5 reigns). All of the other former WWE Champs between 1998 to 2002 had held the WWE title under the Circular design and Undisputed design.
  6. The WWE Title lost its undisputed status on 26th August 2002 (the night after Summerslam 2002), when then-champion Brock Lesnar, under the instructions of then-GM Stephanie McMahon, agreed to defend the WWE Title only on Smackdown. The following week on RAW on 2nd September 2002, then-RAW GM Eric Bischoff introduced the World Heavyweight Championship Title (which is based on the Big Gold Belt design formerly used by WCW and NWA) to serve as Raw's counterpart for the top prize.
  7. The Rock was the last Undisputed Champion prior to the dissolution of the Undisputed status. His victory of the WWE Title under the Undisputed design at Vengeance 2002 made him a then-record 7-time WWE Champion (Triple H would later tie with him in April 2008), and this also marked his final WWE Title reign.
  8. Brock Lesnar had held this Undisputed Title design (not the championship) more times (3) and longer (11 mths) than anyone else in the aforementioned list between 2002 to 2005. He was also the youngest person to win the WWE Title (in general) at 25 yrs old 1 mth.
  9. Eddie Guerrero is the lightest and shortest person to win the WWE Championship (in general).
  10. JBL became the longest reigning WWE Champion of the new decade (2000-2010 era) by holding the title (albeit by dirty means) for more than 9 months.
  11. John Cena became the last person to hold the title under that design after defeating JBL at Wrestlemania 21; the following week on Smackdown (13th April 2005), he brought in a new spinner design to represent the WWE Title, which serves as the current title design. The WWE Championship would soon be part of Raw by early June 2005, following the 2005 Draft when John Cena became the first person to be drafted to Raw.

HE watches over us

Happy Birthday to Alan Sandosham, Audrey and Jasline

Sigh, I really wonder why such people have to exist...
  1. Arrogant assholes who boast too much about their lifestyles and think way too highly of themselves.
  2. Small frys who are desperate for fame as well as attention (and possibly power too).
  3. Heartless bastards who take pleasure in killing other people.
  4. Fugitives who are still on the run from the law and have yet to be found. Most of you know very well who I'm referring to...

Arghhh, I can't be bothered with such ignorants any longer. I have my own affairs to worry about... these ungodly people can suffer and burn in Hell for all I care.

Since I don't have any new assignment as of yet, I guess I'm gonna make use of this opportunity to give another Daily Bread dedication... hey, at least I'm doing something meaningful during the laptop session, right? :-)

"He Watches Over Us"
Psalm 33 tells us that God is like a collection of closed-circuit video cameras watching from on high (verse 14). He sees not just images and activities, but discerns thoughts and motives. As Creator God, when he speaks, it will be done (verse 9). His eternal purposes march on unhindered (verses 10-11). Earthly obstacles are mere steeping stones to Him. Though many depend on military strength for deliverance and safety, their hope is in vain (verses 16-17).

Yet we who fear the Lord need not flee from this awesome God. The psalmist affirms, "The eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him, on those who hope in His mercy... He is our help and our shield (verses 18 and 20).

The eyes of the Lord may be fearsome, but we who trust in Him rejoice. He is not an intrusive "Big Brother", but our loving heavenly Father who watches over us.

Keep your eyes on the Lord at all times; He never takes His eyes off you.
