Breathe event at Padang: the details

Happy Birthday to...
8th Nov- Tim Blake Nelson, Ted DiBiase Jr and Randy Wong
9th Nov- Chris Jericho and Janson Tay

My apologies for the slight delay again. The Internet connection in the house computer had been down for some time due to unknwon reasons, so the most I can do is write down the entries in draft format via MS Word. So I can only go about saying what happened at the Breathe event at the Padang on Friday afternoon first... pictures to come in next post.

Not much was done in the morning besides lunch of cabonara pasta. I left the house at around noon time and went to the Internet café at Bras Basah Complex for some Internet time. I was close to buying a raunchy type of desk calendar (one with pictures of Asian babes clad in bikinis!), but thankfully I resisted doing so. Guilty pleasures are so not worth the buy.

Anyway, I went to the Padang to ‘chope’ some space at abt 4 pm. Other than the few Naturals who were able to make it for the event, I saw a few more familiar faces there as well... one of them being Terence.

1615 to 1620 hrs- Healthy Food Race Cheering Competition done by various secondary school kids

1625 to 1630 hrs- Cheerleading Performance by KR Steppers... lots of hot babes! I like...

1635 to 1700 hrs- Short break... focusing on Healthy Food Race competitors at various sectors

1700 hrs- Freestyle soccer performance by Abbas Farid... truly mind-blowing!

1710 to 1720 hrs- Nat Ho singing Evanescence’s “Bring Me To Life” and Maroon 5’s “This Love”. I find it kinda strange for Nat to be singing a song originally sung by a woman.

1720 to 1735 hrs- Capoeira Demonstration

1740 to 1755 hrs- Nat Ho goes out to try various game stations

1805 to 1810 hrs- Pravin Salvi with Tribal Band performance

1810 hrs- Nat left the place after a few autographs and group photos.

1810 to 1845 hrs- After parting ways with the Naturals, myself and Terence headed to Funan Center to have dinner at Subway.

1850 hrs-
Headed back to Padang, which now has much more people than earlier on. The Breathe Campaign was officially launched with several people in white dancing. Oh yes, I finally saw the Prime Minister in person once more! Last time I saw Mr Lee Hsien Loong was probably 5 to 6 years ago. Also present among the VIPs were MediaCorp CEO Mr Errol Pang and the Minister of Health Mr Khaw Boon Wan (whom I last saw at Suntec in mid August). Quite fun to see them dance along. They left the place at around 1905 hrs.

1900 to 1920 hrs- Zumba Craze dance by 5 people from California Fitness.

1920 to 1925 hrs- Stunt performance by some skateboardists and mountain bikers from some unknown youth organization.

1925 to 1945 hrs- Nearly the whole crowd started chanting “Fiona Xie! Fiona Xie!” and indeed the bubbly Princess got on stage! She went to try out the hula hoop and the car racing stations.

2000 to 2005 hrs- Some dance performance by Fresh Elements

2010 hrs- Fiona left the place by van after a few autographs and photos. I couldn’t take picture with her, but that’s alright. At least I got her autograph on a rather old article of her (from 7 years ago).

2015 hrs- I managed to catch Bus 51 and reach home safely. So much for running...

Pictures to be uploaded in upcoming post...

P.S. I still hate traffic-minded bloggers in case you're wondering. If you smell what I'm cooking.

Dedication before heading for Padang

Happy Birthday to...
6th Nov- LNX and Pris Chan
7th Nov- Willie, Beesian

Firstly, I am dismayed to learn that Chris Jericho had regained the World Title. But since he beat then-reigning champion Batista in the Steel Cage match on the 800th episode of Raw, he will have to defend the World Title at Survivor Series against... the returning JOHN CENA!!!

Secondly, I am starting to get worried that I may be transferred to another sector and cease to work at the EBIS sector any longer come the start of December. If that is the case, then there's nothing I can do... I can't elaborate any further.

Last but not least, would like to dedicate this song to a dear friend (K) who's trying to seek forgivneness from another individual (R), who's feeling rather bitter for complex reasons (this isn't the first time it had happened). I may not know exactly what's going on, but this is the song for the greatly wronged K... this was one of the songs that JL, TB and HM didn't pick towards the end of the Popstar episode of "Don't Forget The Lyrics".

Up next... Breathe Games For Life event at the Padang later today! Can't wait for it... ;-)

Sorry Seems to Be The Hardest Word

What I got to do to make you love me
What I got to do to make you care
What do I do when lightning strikes me
And I wake to find that you're not there

What I got to do to make you want me
What I got to do to be heard
What do I say when it's all over
And sorry seems to be the hardest word

It's sad, so sad
It's a sad, sad situation
And it's getting more and more absurd
It's sad, so sad
Why can't we talk it over
Oh it seems to me
That sorry seems to be the hardest word

What do I do to make you want me
What have I got to do to be heard
What do I say when it's all over
And sorry seems to be the hardest word

It's sad, so sad
It's a sad, sad situation
And it's getting more and more absurd
It's sad, so sad
Why can't we talk it over
Oh it seems to me
That sorry seems to be the hardest word

Yeahhh...

Na na na na na na... sorry!

What I gotta do to make you love me
What have I got to do to be heard
What do I do when lightning strikes me
What have I got to do
What have I got to do
When sorry seems to be the hardest word

Results of the US Presidential Election!

Happy Birthday to Vasily and Valerie

The day of reckoning is finally here... the US presidential election had ended, and the results have been tallied. And your next US President is...

BARACK OBAMA!!! WOO HOO!!! :-D

The 2008 election was the first time in U.S. history that an African American was elected president. It was also the first time two sitting senators ran against each other, as well as the first time an African American was a presidential nominee for a major party. In addition, it was the first time in history that both major candidates were born outside the continental United StatesHawaii for Obama and the Panama Canal Zone for McCain. Since the Republican nominee for vice-president was a woman, Governor Sarah Palin, the eventual winning ticket was bound to be historic, as neither an African American nor a female had achieved either of the respective offices. If John McCain had been elected, he would have been the oldest first-term president. Senator Joseph Biden is the first Roman Catholic vice president to be elected.

I knew beforehand that he was going to win, given his determination and immense popularity with the Americans as well as people from other parts of the world. Barack is sure to be the most electrifying president in American history...

IF YA SMELL... WHAT BARACK IS COOKING!!! ;-)

"Don't Forget The Lyrics" Popstar Special Recording

Happy Birthday to Elena

Yesterday was totally INSANE!! Not only were the Jonatics present for the final recording of "Don't Forget The Lyrics", but also the fanclubs for 2 more Singapore Idols (hint: TB and HM). There were also abt teachers and kids (abt 50 in total) from the Chasworth International School or something like that. I believe the total number of people present for the recording was about 100 or slightly more.

I reached good ol' MediaCorp at 6 pm, and more fans started coming at from 6.30 pm. Lo and behold, New Yi Qing arrived, escorting us to Studio 1. I shan't dwell too much into detail... the recording started at abt 8 pm and lasted for abt 3 hrs, the setting for DFTL looked smaller than I had anticipated (see rough diagram), and there was some 'major revamp thing' in the middle of the studio sets. The musicians who performed throughout the 3 hrs were an awesome bunch... I kinda like the female backup singer named Huimin, she looks really cute (and looks a bit like Jade Seah). Gurmit was indeed a really funny and quirky host, and it was truly an Idol Reunion of sorts among Gurms, Jonathan and the other 2 guys. If you wanna find out who, do catch "Don't Forget The Lyrics" on 27th November to find out ;-)

As we were heading out of the studio at 11.20 pm, I went on to take picture with Yi Qing :-) Then I managed to catch the last of Bus 165 and 854 to head back home... no need to take taxi, muahaha! ;-p

Ok lah, no need to guess the names of the other 2 guys already... do refer to the labels at the bottom of this post. ;-)

My take on these 2 desperados!! >:-(

Here's the entry on the 2 Super Desperate Brothers I had been talking about!!

Warning: this entry is intended to be a long one… I hope you don’t mind reading it. Otherwise, you can choose to go elsewhere, and thanks for coming. Still with me? Good, then let's carry on.

As most of you readers may have known, I’ve always been against arrogant bastards and attention seekers in general. I’m not just referring to traffic-minded bloggers like Mr Kiam Pa.

Take these two brothers for example, they showed up for both days of the recent Travel Fiesta event at Suntec Convention. I already found them very familiar the moment I noticed them… refer to the next picture for proof.

Flashback on the 8th of March this year, these 2 brothers showed up at Ang Mo Kio Hub to buy 4 packs of Vitagen as well as take picture with the lovely Felicia Chin. They did something really unbelievable… the older brother actually asked Fel to autograph on a Jacky Cheung CD??? I mean, it’s ok for anyone to ask for the artist to autograph on a blank notebook in the case that he/she does not have an article linked to the artiste, but to ask the artiste to autograph on something entirely unrelated is so very WRONG!! They already left a bad impression on the minds of the many people present, most particularly the Felicians.

Fast forward to the afternoon of November 1st. The 2 Gwailo brothers went up on stage to play some game. The older brother is wearing formal attire, with his shirt tucked in!! I mean come on, which person in the right sense would wear so formally for casual events such as this?? Why can’t he be like his younger brother who is wearing casually? I think he left his brain at home…

Evidence of his low intelligence was shown in the ‘speech’ the older brother gave after winning the golf mini-game: “You can call me Triple H, and my brother is Stone Cold Steve Austin.” And all the people (including me) were slapping their heads and going, “WHAT!!!” And the way he celebrated his win was as if he won the 2009 Royal Rumble... IN YOUR DREAMS!!!

Reality check: Excuse me young man, you call yourself Triple H??? You look like Mr. Bean!! And your brother calls himself Stone Cold??? He looks more like a court jester!! Both of you really got no face!! SHAME ON THE BOTH OF YOU!!!

And they stayed on to watch Ping Hui perform… you know what they did??? The older one asked Ping Hui to autograph on a pirated WWE Raw VCD!! Ping Hui simply gave the 2 brothers this strange look on his face. The other fans simply prevented those 2 weirdos from getting to take picture with Ping Hui. Then they left the place sometime before Diya’s appearance. It’s obvious that some things never change. Buay tahan. :-(

November 2nd… those two brothers really thick-skinned; they showed up for the event again!! The younger brother is wearing different clothes this time round, but the older brother is still wearing the same Mr Bean-like attire!! WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH HIM!!! :-@

To make things worse, they went up on stage and made a big fool of themselves in front of Edmund and many others! The older one called himself Jacky Cheung (WHAT!!), and the younger one called himself Daren Tan (WHAT!!). They even tried to make Edmund sign on a Jacky Cheung poster, much to the disbelief of everyone in general! Not only that, they also pestered my friends out of pure randomness. It was also during this time that I realized the younger brother spoke with a stutter. Kinda obvious that they both left their brains at home...

As Edmund went down, those 2 brothers tried to get him to autograph on another unrelated poster, but thankfully the escorts stopped them from doing so. And I must admit that while the fans are waiting for Edmund to come out of the dressing room, I was very close to giving that Mr. Bean lookalike some Sweet Chin Music?? He really knows how to get on other people’s nerves. Next time I see him, I will give him a piece of my mind in regards to his character and antics. And to make things worse, the nerd nearly wanted to get into a fight with some of us when the escort prohibited him and his younger brother from taking pics with Edmund again. Talk about whining ass-clowns!! Sibei qian bian... :-(
Still, I can’t help but feel rather sorry for the younger guy, having such a weird and abominable person as his older brother, and how he had to serve as his 'lackey' all the time, carrying his older bro's balls (yes, really!!). Thank goodness I am nowhere near that status. It is true that I have a FUCKING problem with desperate fans like them. How I wish they could just go to hell. :-(

I realized that the two brothers have a lot in common with Mr Kiam Pa and Alvin Da Hutt… they are abominable, arrogant, attention seeking, childish, despicable, irritating, stupid, troublesome, uncivilized… you get the hint. Do refer to this post for the A to Z list of characteristics. http://tanatrandomarchives.blogspot.com/2008/09/to-z-of-mkps-behaviour.html

But there is one trait that makes these two brothers stand out from the aforementioned… they actually have more guts. They are not afraid to volunteer themselves to go up on stage and make a fool of themselves.

I think these 4 abominations can team up to form a wrestling stable! Now THAT would be awesome!!! :-)

Sean Koh TS as Mr Kiam Pa (de facto leader)
Alvin Da Hutt as Mr Seow Lang
The older nerd as Mr Hao Lian
The younger nerd
as Mr Gwai Lan

I realized that there is one attention seeker who beats all these 4 individuals… the Yellow Trunks Stripper Steven Lim! Now THAT is a true abomination. Hopefully he can be their manager. I won’t be surprised if Steven happened to be the inspiration for those 2 weird brothers.

The name of their stable? The Despicables!! Looks like I got to make some improvising on the Borgwan Sleazy character in the WWE game to make him look exactly like that Mr Bean nerd. Still contemplating on creating a new character for the younger weirdo.

To the two brothers, if you happen to read this, let me say that you simply disgust me! And if the both of you, MKP, Alvin or even Steven Lim ain’t down with that, then I’ve got THREE WORDS for you…

YOU REALLY SUCK!!!
