Carlsberg event at Balaclava on Boxing Day

On Friday night, I went to Suntec City with some friends to attend the Carlsberg roadshow at Balaclava featuring the 3 Carlsberg Lucky Ambassadors Michelle Chia (Love), Fiona Xie (Health) and Allan Wu (Friendship). This is the first of 3 events, all hosted by comedian Irene Ang. Almost couldnt recognise "Rosie", who was wearing a green dress similar to the one Fiona wore the previous week.
The main difference for this event was, only patrons aged 25 and above are allowed to enter the place, and they have to show their ICs to the security for proof. The rest who do not meet the minimum age requirement would have to wait outside. The security guards weren't totally convinced that me and Eric were above 25 even though we had already showed them our ICs, and asked us to say out our ICs, and we did so withour stopping... proof that the ICs are authentic (I mean come on, who can fake that??). I only went for the first one, then went home soon after they left for the next location, but not before taking picture with Fiona! :-p
Pictures taken during the first few minutes outside the bar

Pictures taken inside Balaclava... focusing more on patrons playing games with Allan, while Mich and Fiona were having a drink at the corner.

The 3 ambassadors filming for the next Carlsberg ad, firstly in English then followed by Chinese (which proved quite a challenge for the American-bred Allan).

This pic actually consisted of myself, Fiona and Eric... but then Eric requested me to remove his image from the pic and send to me a separate copy of the original pic to him...

Just a few more hours, and the Little Nyonya roadshow is about to commence. By the time you read this, I would have already left the house to reach Compass Point early and book a front row seat, as well as try getting the poster. Pictures and details to come either later tonight or on Sunday ;-)

Random reports during the Christmas season

Random thoughts for the week before I 'surrender' myself to yet another grueling assignment...

- The Singapore Flyer observation wheel which had been closed down recently will not resume commercial operations for at least another week, nd is set to lose hundreds of thousands of dollars. Its management is currently investigating the exact cause of the wheel’s failure, which trapped 173 people for nearly seven hours on Tuesday night. Me and family hadn't even tried it out yet! :-/

- Kinda shocking how HK veteran singer Vivian Chow and Joe Nieh kept their marital status under wraps for not one, not two, but TEN YEARS!! Chow and Nieh had actually registered their marriage ten years ago in the States. This is also speculated to be the reason why Chow has tolerated and forgiven Nieh's frivolous behavior, in salvaging the marriage. They could have at least informed the press about it much earlier... but since they're gonna hold another wedding soon, that should be ok. But that tramp-of-a-third party better not crash the second wedding!!

- Sanlu, the China company at the heart of the tainted milk global scandal, has been declared bankrupt. It will now be managed by a court-appointed receiver who will assume responsibility for an orderly sale of the company's assets and payment of creditors.

- Not sure if newly-elected Thai Prime Minister Abhisit would be capable enough to handle the political crisis that the Bangkok residents have been going through for months now, but he seemed pretty confident to me, esp after me and family had watched the CNN interview with him a few nights ago. (I do hope that the authorities do something about the Thaksin campaign...)

- The dance party at the Float within Marina Bay region had been cancelled due to poor ticket sales, but the Channel 5 countdown party there will still go as planned. Either way, I am still unable to go for it...

- And and, I know I shouldnt be doing this, but I read this quote from that jabroni's blog (I believe most of you know who), after browsing through his painfully long-winded and nonsensical entries for minutes...
Why am i talking about this in my BLOG? I can CHOOSE not to mention this in my blog but eventually i did talk about it. I know after talking about this, my image is totally gone but i couldn't care less. I am who i am, I am XXX. Yes, i am a real life living JOKER and you can find anything IMPOSSIBLE on me possible. I do whatever stuff that people cannot imagine and ridiculous. I don't care whether you like me or not, i don't really give a shit about it. I just want to live the life the way i want it to be and thats about it.
I have only this to say to that person... since you wanna continue destroying yourself and splurge all of your brother's savings or your parents' hard-earned cash for your own desires and luxuries, YOU MIGHT JUST AS WELL BURN IN HELL. You better not let me and the others see your grotesque face at Compass Point this Saturday. And yes, I do agree that you are a real-life living JOKER... only problem is, you're nowhere as sadistic or ruthless as Jack Nicholson, Heath Ledger or even Mark Hamill!!!

- Still in the topic of hated personas, remember the other time I mentioned that I am not gonna create any wrestler based off MKP, Alvin or that Jacky Cheung fanatic (aka Mr Hao Lian) in the WWE SvR 2009 game (PSP)? Well guess what, I am staying true to my word and I have found another way to 'convert' my negative feelings into something good... by simply creating new heel wrestlers based off that despicable father-and-son duo Charlie and Robert Zhang in "Little Nyonya"... hahaha!! :-D

Merry Christmas to everyone!

Happy Birthday to Celest Chong, Michael Ho and Kalyn Ho
Merry Christmas 2008

The time of the year has come... this year comes off a bit different for me personally.

Firstly, there was no Christmas gathering for the first time in many years (as stated in an earlier post), but that's alright really. At least I got to find time to watch the first disc for "The Twisted, Disturbing Life of KANE", and watch "Little Nyonya" and WWE Raw as usual. Oh,and did I forget to mention that while I was at VivoCity yesterday afternoon, I saw Julian Hee and Michelle Tay acting at the 3rd level? Seems like they are indeed filming for the 2nd season of "A Perfect Cut"... :-)

Earlier today, I had to wake up early to go for briefing for Christmas service... me and another AV member basically took control of the portable video camera for both English/Peranakan and English/Chinese services. There was still a bit of space for the 1st service, but 2nd service got fully booked! Got the same xiao mei meis in Silver Boxes, and the same 3 xiao mei meis plus preteen boy as harpers. I held the videocam at various angles til my wrists started aching, as did my ankles. We were all dismissed at abt 1230 hrs at the conclusion of the 2nd service, and I couldnt resist pouting my lips upon seeing a very pretty and cute girl among the AV team (blushes). I went to good ol' Compass Point to have lunch there as well as re-familiarize with the place (I think the last time I went there was about a year ago, I could be wrong). Then headed back home to slack and have dinner, and watch a bit of TV as well.

And lastly, I don't need to work on Christmas Day at all, haha!! Remember, I currently work at Bugis, not Shaw House...

There's a post-Christmas party that myself and friends are gonna attend tomorrow, and this one will be at Suntec City... yes, I will be going for the first part of the final series of Carlsberg roadshows to see Fiona, Mich Chia and Allan Wu! ;-)

Pictures of Christmas decors taken last week

The other time I went to VivoCity, I took some pictures of the amazing Christmas decorations located at the 3rd level. The Christmas tree is smaller and makes for easier space for the stage setting for the upcoming Channel 8 countdown party. It is with much regret that I won't able to celebrate the New Year here this year... not like last year and me and my friends had a crazy time screaming our voices hoarse when the likes of Gurmit, Taufik, Fendi, By Def, etc performed on stage, and partied on till 1 am.

The Twisted, Disturbed Life of Kane DVD :-)

Here is the DVD I had bought earlier this week... :-)

For more than ten years, Kane has cut a fiery swath of destruction through World Wrestling Entertainment. Whether cheered or booed, Kane has been one of the most popular superstars of WWE, battling his (kayfabe) brother Undertaker, fighting the equally deranged Mick Foley, and countless other battles against Edge, Matt Hardy, Triple H, Big Show, Shawn Michaels, and more. He has held both the WWE and ECW championships, as well as the Intercontinental Championship and World Tag Team titles on multiple occasions. Now, for the first time ever, fans can purchase The Best of Kane, a 3-disc DVD set that showcases the greatest matches in the Big Red Monster's history.

Once you open the DVD case, you will see a picture of Kane's old mask, the very one he wore between 1997 to 1999.

The DVD package comes wth 3 discs, each disc containing Kane's greatest matches during different timezones...
Disc 1- Matches from Oct 1997 to February 2001 (Beginnings)
Disc 2- Matches from May 2001 to mid 2004 (The Unmasking)
Disc 3- Matches from late 2004 to 2008 (Drafted to Smackdown and ECW)
The booklet containing the full list of chapters for each disc... each chapter starts off with brief commentary by the Big Red Monster himself on the significance of the match.
Kane action figure and Kane DVD

This makes the best Christmas present for anyone who is a big fan of Kane (like me!). Muahahaha... :-)
