Singapore Idol season 3 auditions at Cathay

I was fortunate to leave the house a bit later yesterday, cos the weather was still as unbearable as always. Firstly I had early lunch at Plaza Sing, then headed to the Cathay Cineplex to check out the turnout for the Singapore Idol 3 auditions. Man I was right... it was MASSIVE, about 4000 people queuing up, 30% more than the turnout for last season!! And 40% of them are teenagers! I was surprised to meet Benny as well as Uncle Joe at the entrance region of the Cathay. Also, I saw Gurmit and Hady... later on Joakim got up to the orange elevator thingy to entertain the crowd and pick a few girls to showcase their talents. I left the place at 1225 hrs and took taxi to my workplace, telling the taxi driver about the return of the Singapore Idol franchise.

Later after I knocked off from work, I headed back to Cathay, only to discover that the barricades had been emptied at abt 6 pm; apparently the remaining fans were told to return to the same place the next day to resume the auditions round, for the security guards wanted them to get more rest and not fall sick afterwards. With little energy left inside my "fuel tank", I decided to head back home by bus, skipping the opportunity to see the rehearsals for True Hearts charity show at Toa Payoh HDB Hub.


As for the new changes for Singapore Idol season 3, Hady will be replacing Daniel Ong and taking on the role of co-host-cum-"big brother" in the upcoming season, while the producers decided to "tim the fat" and leave the judging panel at the original 3 (Dick, Flo and Ken). Gurmit remains as the main host, and there will also be changes added into the competition format... the Judges' Veto Vote and the Salvation Song will be added into the Spectacular rounds, and the results will be telecast on the same day as the performance show (much like Project Superstar or Campus Superstar). Singapore Idol season 3 is scheduled to premier on Channel 5 on August 9th, right after the National Day Parade live telecast... the date of the finals may be taking place in mid-December. (Truth be told, I really hope that history doesn't repeat itself on the day of the Finals yet again... let there be a female in the Final 2 this time please!)

WWE Extreme Rules match

WWE Extreme Rules will take place on June 7, 2009 at the New Orleans Arena in New Orleans, Louisiana.This is actually the fifth show in the lineage to the One Night Stand chronology, but this is the first to be referred under the new name. This PPV event will feature professional wrestling matches that will all be contested under some of the most extreme stipulations.

Randy Orton will defend the WWE title against Batista in a Steel cage match. Expect tons of blood.

The Rated R Superstar Edge will defend the World Heavyweight Title against the Charismatic Enigma Jeff Hardy in a Ladder match!!! There will be tons of bruises and broken bones between these two ladder specialists.

Christian will defend the ECW Title against Jack Swagger and Tommy Dreamer in a Triple Threat Extreme Rules match. Tommy's career is at stake here, for his contract expires the day before and he is granted a one-day extension, and in order to prevent retirement from taking place, Tommy must win the ECW title at all costs.

Bitter rivals John Cena and Big Show will battle it out in a Submissions match... weapons may still be in use.

The high-flying Rey Mysterio will defend the Intercontinental Championship against the egomaniac Chris Jericho in a No-Holds-Barred match.

Mr Money In The Bank CM Punk and Umaga will battle it out in a Samoan Strap match. The first person to tap all 4 corners of the ring without stopping wins the match.

Santina Marella will face Raw GM and current Miss WrestleMania Vickie Guerrero in a Hog Pen match. Expect lots of dirt and squealing!!

Kofi Kingston, who won the United States a few days ago, will defend it against MVP (the man he beat for the title), William Regal and Matt Hardy in a Fatal Four Way match. Not sure if there's gonna be any stipulation for this one...

Dinosaurs, beauties and Idol hopefuls at PS region

After another busy day at work (involving shrink wrapping, re-arrangement of books and the like), I took direct bus to Plaza Singapura, and I was in for a very big surprise the moment I got off...


Outside Dhoby Ghaut station, there was a life-sized T-Rex skeleton (like the one seen in "Night At The Museum" and the sequel).


Located near the T-Rex skeleton is a tent function for some talent competion known as Electric Youth. I managed to catch 2 pretty babes performing on stage at different timings (you can tell by the pics i took, hehe). Incidentally, I spotted an old friend there, but I couldn’t stay any longer to watch her perform... sorry, Kim!


Inside PS itself, there were various dinosaurs at the central region of the ground floor. (Interestingly, most of them were featured in "Dinosaurs Alive" exhibition at the Science Center last year).

There was obviously not enough room for an adult Stegosaurus to be included, so the personnel resorted to using a baby stegosaur instead. There might be an adult Stegosaurus at Tampines Mall though...

Also, there is a loooong series of barricades located just outside the Cathay Cineplex for the Singapore Idol season 3 auditions. It's still too early to determine who will end up as the 3rd Singapore Idol... but we do know that there will be a new host and judge this time round. Oh, and Hady is confirmed to play the role of mentor!!

Dreamt of being 'terminated' in the worst way

I had a really scary dream last night... I dreamt I was involved in a confrontation with MKP who got really aggressive and pushed me around for no reason. I tried to fight back, but the evil within MKP was too much for me to overcome. Soon after came Alvin that Hutt, the stinkbomb, Mr Hao Lian and even that hobbit. The 5 of them suddenly turned into monsters, surrounded me in a circle, and they started to torture me in the worst way possible, like trying to rip out my organs or something. I tried screaming for help, only to realise that there was noboby else around. It was as if I was being dragged into the very pits of hell... a possible indication for the upcoming film "Drag Me To Hell", perhaps? In a moment of awareness, I immediately snapped out of the dream and found myself in a cold sweat, in the middle of the night. It was as if demonic forces have attempted to invade my mind...

Looking back at the experiences I had been through as of late as well as the weeks of working at SKS Books, I am glad to have known and accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior for the past decade, for it is He who will provide me protection over the forces of darkness and resist them. I seriously feel very bad for the aforementioned individuals who are wasting their own lives by doing unforgivable acts (getting into conflicts, acting ignorant, wasting money on facial treatments, etc) and thinking that they can 'do anything by their own strength', and as a result ignoring the Word of God. Why should I even worry about them one bit? As long as I know, it is these goons who will end up going to hell, not me.
