Transformers AOE film informatics Part 44B: Minor Decepticons

ALICE
Alice
is the kind of girl you wish you met in college. She's pretty, has... prominent mammalian characteristics, is incredibly forward about what she wants, and lives next door to Leo Spitz and Sam Witwicky in Hamilton Hall. She's really interested in Sam. It's a bit suspicious, really; maybe she's just pretending? Eventually she is revealed to be a Decepticon Pretender sent from the Decepticons to get the information that Sam has when he came in contact with the fragment of the AllSpark, and she is killed by a very jealous Mikaela Banes, who used her car to ram her into a lamp post, and grind what's left of her metal corpse with the car tyres.

IGOR
A deformed Decepticon that scurries about Megatron at his base in Africa, he is actually the modified severed head of Long Haul, who was killed in the previous film. Megatron has a vague recollection of the head having used to belong to one of his soldiers, but the possibility doesn't interest him enough for him to invest much thought into it. He is last seen eating the head of the Abraham Lincoln statue in Lincoln Memorial.

HATCHLINGS
Hatchlings are the first stage of life for Cybertronians. Unprogrammed protoforms held in small sacs, they require regular doses of Energon to survive. If their sac is breached before the end of the gestation process, they will case to exist.

WATCH-BOT
Watch-Bot is a minor Decepticon present in Dark of the Moon. It can affix itself to a host around the wrist and gives the appearance of a regular looking wristwatch. However, once it has tapped into the central nervous system, it can control its host, as well as observe and record any data the host sees and hears. Once it has finished gathering intelligence, it drops off and scurries back to the Decepticon base to report.

Transformers AOE film informatics Part 44A: The Dreads

The Dreads are a group of Decepticons who follow the Autobots back from the moon and transform into black Chevrolet Suburban emergency vehicles. They specialize in infiltration and assassination missions. They also seem to vaguely resemble the Predator. They’re such unpleasant monsters that even the other Decepticons tend to dislike them. They attacked Sam, Bumblebee, Sideswipe, and Dino/Mirage on the highway and later fought Ironhide and Sideswipe by throwing their explosive darts at the Autobots.

Crankcase
A rarity among Decepticons, Crankcase is known for his subtle and shadowy nature, though it would be a mistake not to see him as a threat. As the de facto leader of the elite Dreads, the Decepticon’s top infiltration and assassination team, his specialty is hacking, data theft, and destructive sabotage of vital systems. Crankcase was killed by Ironhide with the help of Sideswipe. He transforms into a black Chevrolet Suburban.

Crowbar
Crowbar is the Dreads' second-in-command who specializes in getting into secured areas and systems. It doesn't matter if we're talking computer systems, human safes, or enemy compounds he's got the tools and skills needed to get you in. His weapons of choice are "nanotech sentries". He and Crankcase fought Sideswipe and Ironhide holding both his guns at them. He is killed by a head shot from Ironhide. In the toyline, Crowbar is depicted as a black Carbon Motors E7 police car.

Hatchet
Decepticon master strategist Hatchet is most famous for formulating devastating counter-attacks against Autobot defenses. Yet as a member of the Dreads infiltration and assassination team, he also plays another role, taking on the dirtiest jobs available personally and exterminating his targets with a brutal and efficient finality. He is killed by Bumblebee and Mirage on the highway. In the toyline, Hatchet is depicted as a black Eurofighter Typhoon.

transformers AOE film informatics Part 43B: Devastator

Whether he's formed from six, seven, or even nine Constructicons, Devastator is a giant among giants. He is in fact so huge that his body simply cannot support itself when carrying his weight upright, forcing him to lumber on all fours.
Devastator is a tormented being, his very formation wracking his component Constructicons with pain and stressing them to the breaking point both physically and mentally. The imperfect fusion process produces a mind that's very much less than the sum of its parts; rage and pain are all he knows, pushing aside whatever intelligence he might possess. Devastator relies on almost pure instinct in battle.
Other than his intimidating strength, Devastator can also create powerful gravity wells by generating an artificial black hole with his Vortex Grinder, located in his mouth. Nearby objects are drawn into his gaping mouth to be crushed. He has grappling hook that assist in climbing up huge structures like pyramids.

In Revenge Of The Fallen, upon arrival in Egypt, the Constructicons that made up Devastator combined and attacked Leo Spitz, Seymour Simmons, Skids, and Mudflap. It rampaged through the construction facility, sucking up anything not anchored down, such as sand, cars, and Mudflap. Despite the powerful vacuum, Mudflap held out for a while before being sucked further in. Seeking vengeance, Skids clambered up Devastator for revenge. However, Mudflap had survived, as he blasted a hole through the giant Decepticon's eye to climb out before further attacking the combiner and slowing it down.

Megatron yelled Devastator's name from atop the Great Pyramid of Giza to end the twins' distraction. Devastator clambered out of the construction pit and grappled his way to the peak of the pyramid, where he used his vortex grinder to suck up the stones that hid the star harvester inside. By this point, Simmons had made his way to the pyramid, and he radioed a nearby navy ship to fire its experimental rail gun, which had been developed based on studies of Megatron during his captivity at Hoover Dam. The gun's projectile hit Devastator, blasting off an arm and the lower half of his leg, making him lose his balance, causing him to shatter into many pieces as his body tumbled down the pyramid.

COMPONENTS
Devastator is made up of:
Mixmaster (head)
Scavenger (main torso)
Overload (lower torso)
Scrapper (right arm)
Hightower (left arm)
Long Haul (right leg)
Rampage (left leg)

Transformers AOE film informatics Part 43A: The Constructicons in general

The Constructicons are a Decepticon sub-faction of robots that transform into construction vehicles, many sharing alternate modes, body-types and even names.

The gigantic Demolishor may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but he's smart enough to know when to fight openly and when to stick to the shadows. One of the Constructicons, Demolishor arrived on Earth to find Megatron dead, so he went into hiding, gathering other Decepticons who needed a big, blunt instrument to cower behind. Demolishor and Scavenger transforms into a red and white Terex OnK RH 400 hydraulic mining excavator.

When the NEST and the Autobots come to Shanghai, China attempting to uncover a hidden Decepticon they find Demolishor and Sideways. Demolishor transforms and swats at NEST helicopters as he begins to make himself mobile. Demolishor proceeds on a highway in China. He destroys an overpass just as Optimus Prime transforms and jumps off the bridge. Optimus manages to dive onto Demolishor, grabbing onto his face as he proceeds down the highway. Optimus shoots him repeatedly while at the same time Ironhide damages one of his wheel joints in which breaks the wheel forcing the Decepticon to fall over, causing him to go off road and crash. With most of his body damaged as a result, Demolishor's last words are "This is not your planet to rule. The Fallen shall rise again" before Prime executes him by shooting him in the head.

Hightower transforms into a yellow KOBELCO CKE2500 II crawler crane.

Longhaul Long Haul wishes he could spend more time in battle, destroying his enemies with projectile weaponry. Instead, he often finds himself stuck in the role of pack mule, lugging around the other Decepticons' gear. He finds this a highly loathsome task. So it isn't surprising that stuff left in his truck bed has a tendency to get lost in transit. He transforms into a green Caterpillar 773B dump truck.

Mixmaster is a genius chemist who serves as a weapons designer to the Decepticon elite. He has spent his entire lifespan mastering the intricacies of chemical reactions, becoming an expert in poisons, corrosive substances, and most especially explosives. He has a knack for improvisation, being able to make deadly concoctions from just the native materials a world has to offer. He transforms into a black and silver Mack concrete mixer truck.

Overload transforms into a red KW Dart D4661 articulated dump truck.

Rampage is a pretty violent guy. A member of the Constructicons, he can be followed by the trail of destruction as he wrecks his way through the battlefield, leaving the smell of diesel fumes and hot tar in his wake. His chassis is covered with scratches, dings and dents as a testament to his intense love of battle. Thoroughly whacked in the cranial unit, his idea of beauty is a pile of Autobot wreckage. He transforms into a red Caterpillar D9T bulldozer.

Scrapper transforms into a yellow Caterpillar 992G front-load shovel.

Transformers AOE film informatics Part 42: Sideways

Before the war, Sideways was a simple courier so he's not a physical powerhouse like the other Decepticons. As he's pretty smart, Sideways prefers to team up with larger Decepticons in the battle against the Autobots. This way, his target-friendly companion takes all the heat! When he absolutely must face the enemy, he eagerly deploys the spinning saw blades on his arms.
Many would call him a coward, but Arcee and her sisters know differently. A world-class spy doesn't do anyone any good if he's compromised. He surrounds himself with dangerous traps, yet always leaves an escape route, and has thus far never been captured... until he crossed paths with his 'long-lost twin'.

In Revenge Of The Fallen, Sideways was hiding out in Shanghai with Demolishor when NEST came to investigate a possible Decepticon insurgence. At first, the two Decepticons remained concealed, but Demolishor soon transformed and attacked. While the soldiers and their Autobot allies were busy fighting off Demolishor, Sideways took advantage of the chaos and attempted to make his getaway. He was not entirely undetected, however, as Major Lennox sent out Arcee and the twins in pursuit.

With Arcee and the Twins on his tail, Sideways turned a corner to an apartment complex in his way. Rather than turn and lose momentum, Sideways chucked caution to the wind and transformed, jumping through the apartment building and out the other side. The Twins were unable to keep up with the chase, and Sideways was soon able to fight off Arcee. Sideways didn't get far, and eventually met his end when Sideswipe engaged in pursuit, transformed, and bisected Sideways as he attempted to flee.

ALTERNATE MODE
Sideways
transforms into a silver-colored Audi R8 car. He is often confused with Sideswipe due to the similarities in their names and their looks, except that Sideways has red-tinted windows, whereas Sideswipe has blue-tinted windows.

Transformers AOE film informatics Part 41: Scalpel

The tiny Scalpel, also known as "the Doctor", looks harmless enough with his big, inquisitive eyes. But beware—in the world of the Transformers, things are not what they seem! Scalpel has vast databases of anatomical and mechanical knowledge, being familiar with most species in the galaxy. He's extremely adept at getting to the root of a problem and can handily disassemble most technological devices... or life-forms. Unfortunately, when he goes to put them back together, he always has a few parts left over. This has left most of the Decepticons reluctant to come to him for care, in spite of his duties as their field medic.

Scalpel was transported to the Laurentian Abyss by Ravage and four of the Constructicons. Once the Decepticons reached the sea floor, Scalpel was released to assess the extent of the damage done to Megatron. After a cursory examination, Scalpel concluded that they would need spare parts, and ordered the death of the smallest Constructicon. Once he had the "donated" parts and the AllSpark shard stolen by Ravage, he rebuilt Megatron into a more powerful—and very much alive—form.

Later, at a factory in the same city as Sam Witwicky's university, Megatron ordered Scalpel to examine Sam, in hopes of finding out what he had learned from the AllSpark information downloaded into his brain. Using several extremely invasive techniques, Scalpel deduced that Sam's mind was definitely full of handy-dandy information. And the best way to get said information was to examine Sam's brain... while it was laid out on the table. Scalpel's attempt was interrupted by the timely arrival of Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, with Prime destroying him.

ALTERNATE MODE
Scalpel transforms from a spider-like cyborg to a microscope.

Transformers AOE film informatics Part 40: Brawl

To say Brawl is a warrior is like calling Cybertron a hunk of metal. Brawl does not just enjoy fighting, he is consumed by it. Tearing Autobots apart is embedded into his very core, and every fiber-optic cable of his being is obsessed with wild, unyielding combat. The only thing he enjoys, or even cares about, is the fury of battle. And he loves a good explosion. Particularly if it's one he created, and if it's an Autobot that is exploding.
While it's not uncommon for ambition or independent thinking to cause trouble in the Decepticon ranks, Brawl's never had that problem. This is mostly because he suffers from a severe lack of both qualities. Where others question orders, Brawl simply carries them out, perfectly happy to let Megatron do all his thinking for him.

ALTERNATE MODE
Brawl transforms into a dark green M1 Abrams tank. He has two tank turrets on his back (evoking his G1 persona), 4 missile launchers on each shoulder, two Ripper Blades and a Gatling gun on his left arm, and a long tank turret coming to his right arm.

Transformers AOE film informatics Part 39: Bonecrusher

Bonecrusher, known as the Claw of Megatron, is a Transformer that can be described with one word: Hate. While other Decepticons get by on greed, ambition, or just their fondness for dispensing chaos, Bonecrusher is fueled by sheer, unrelenting hate. He hates everyone and everything, be they Autobot, Decepticon, or anything in-between—he even hates himself, revolted by his misshapen, hunchbacked robot mode, which he considers a reflection of all the ugliness and malice inside himself. The full force of this vicious cycle of hatred finds release in explosive frenzied bursts of psychotic brutality, as Bonecrusher takes out the full force of his bitterness and self-loathing on anyone who looks at him sideways. He hates that. He also hates Megatron, but would hate being terminated by the Decepticon leader more, so he sticks around.
On Cybertron, Bonecrusher was actually quite a skilled tactician—dedicated to the art of war, a fast thinker who could plough into battle while others were still mapping out strategy, and, most importantly in Megatron's eyes, a masterfully dirty fighter. However, Bonecrusher's skills left him consigned to a supervisory position and kept him off the battlefield, which, of course, he hated. Naturally, this only helped to increase his already epic levels of frustration and misery at his lot in life, until he became what he is today. He's so intensely pent-up that he'll unflinchingly take on opponents of any size—the bigger the better! Bonecrusher wouldn't hesitate to confront Optimus Prime head on, if he could.

ALTERNATE MODE
Bonecrusher
transforms into a Buffalo H Mine-Protected vehicle, probably the only vehicle he doesn't hate so much.

Transformers AOE film informatics Part 38: Scorponok

Scorponok is a small Transformer with a symbiotic connection to Blackout. Just as Blackout would often be found looming powerful and silent by Megatron, Scorponok is always near Blackout, except in those times he has been sent to kill.
His main drives are to hunt, destroy, and hunt some more, causing many to view him as barely sentient. Others are concerned that he actually be a cunning opponent getting friend and foe alike to underestimate him... and the latter are often right. In secret, Scorponok has proven to be astonishingly erudite and focused on patient, long-game operations.
Since he can tunnel underground with frightening speed, Scorponok incredibly good at ambushing. His favorite pastime is playing Hide and Seek with unsuspecting players, be they robotic or organic. He prefers to be hider and seeker. On Cybertron, he was deliberately left behind on battlefields so he could use his chameleon mesh armour plating to blend in perfectly with the background, then ambush any Autobot patrols that would arrive. Thanks to this, Megatron gave him more autonomy than other Decepticons would get, as he admired Scorponok's genocidal zeal.

In the film, he and his partner Blackout attack the SOCCENT Operations Base in Qatar. Scorponok chases eight Special Forces soldiers across the desert, eventually killing trooper Donnelly, wounding Figueroa, and killing several Qatari soldiers before being wounded in an attack by two A-10 Thunderbolt IIs and an AC-130 Spectre gunship. With the tip of his tail blown off, Scorponok burrows under the desert sands, and is not seen again for the rest of the film. However, the survivors take the damaged tail and bring it aboard a transport plane en route back to the U.S.. While examining the tail, it suddenly goes wild, but Lennox and Epps manage to restrain it. The soldiers also discover through the damage on the tail that while robot armor is impervious to bullets, it can easily be weakened by anti-tank sabot rounds.
In Revenge of the Fallen, Scorponok appears briefly once in Egypt with his tail repaired and participates in the final battle. He bursts out of the sand and disembowels Jetfire, who in turn kills him by smashing his head with his fist.

ALTERNATE MODE AND WEAPONRY
Scorponok's default mode is a gigantic mechanical scorpion; he is the only Transformer that does not have a humanois form, although he has a robot mode (complete with military warning and command designation markings) in the toy line. His weapons include missiles, spinning pincers (which can also be formatted into drills for burrowing), directed-energy weapons, and an impaling spike that represents the stinger on his tail.

Transformers AOE film informatics Part 37: Blackout

The massive Blackout has been described as the "hound" of Megatron. In better days he was always to be found looming powerful and silent behind his leader's right shoulder. When given a target he hunts it down with fierce determination. Blackout is not happy with the progress Starscream is making towards finding the missing Decepticon leader. He suspects (quite rightly) that Starscream would prefer Megatron to stay lost. Blackout is openly mutinous and will challenge Starscream's leadership at any opportunity, not for his own sake, but to better serve his ultimate goal of finding his lost master. Blackout has a sneaky side and uses his symbiotic companion Scorponok's small size to great advantage.

Early in the film, he, along with his minion Scorponok, attacks the SOCCENT Forward Operations Centre in Qatar, disguised as a MH-53M Pave Low IV helicopter, that was apparently shot down over Afghanistan three months earlier. Blackout is escorted to the base by two F-22 jet fighters, where he transforms and single-handedly destroys the whole base. During his attack, he attempts to hack into the base's system to download data on the location of the Allspark and Megatron, only to have the hardline to the system cut off by a military officer. He then deploys Scorponok, sending him after a fleeing Captain William Lennox and his team. Later, Blackout is seen rallying with the other Decepticons to Starscream's call, after Frenzy discovers the Allspark in the Hoover Dam, saying "All hail Megatron" as if to remind Starscream who his master is.

Arriving in Mission City during the final battle, Blackout attacks Sam, who is saved by the timely intervention of Ironhide, who throws a car at Blackout, which the Decepticon blasts out of the way and then he shoots down Ironhide. Later he attempts to kill Sam with his rotor weapon, but misses him by a few feet. Towards the end of the battle he attempts to help Megatron finish off Optimus Prime; however, he is attacked by Captain Lennox and his team, with the former racing underneath him on a motorcycle and firing at him with a sabot round, along with human pilots in F-22s firing a barrage of missiles from the air, eventually killing him. His corpse is disposed of in the Laurentian Abyss, along with Megatron and the other fallen Decepticons.

Blackout also appears in Revenge of the Fallen, despite his death in the 2007 film. When Megatron is resurrected it's presumed Blackout's resurrection took place off screen. He is seen later joining the fight against Optimus Prime along with Megatron and Starscream. He is killed, this time permanently, by Optimus who gets up on the Decepticon and rips his face apart with his battle hooks, just before the Autobot gets fatally stabbed by Megatron.

ALTERNATE MODE AND WEAPONRY
Blackout transforms into an Sikorsky MH-53 Pave Low helicopter. He is armed with a missile launcher, 2 arm-mounted Gatling cannons, 2 energy cannons and has the ability to disrupt electronic devices via EMP blasts. He is also able to detach and wield his tail rotor blades as a close-combat weapon. When in helicopter mode he can simulate the appearance of a human pilot, the same holographic model (referred to as "Mustache Man" on-set and in the credits) that "pilots" Starscream and "drives" Barricade.

Transformers AOE film informatics Part 36: Frenzy

Frenzy is small, sneaky, skittering and single-minded. His hyper-active twitching and lightning-speed gibbering in his own tongue belie incredible espionage and sabotage skills, but it is in causing chaos and carnage that Frenzy truly excels. This creepy little abomination is the best there is at what he does, and approaches his tasks with a level of sinister glee that make it hard to deter him from a course of action once he has settled upon it.
Frenzy is exceptionally hard to kill, due to the fact that he possesses a de-centralized, modular nervous system. In essence it means that even if he suffers critical injuries—such as getting his head severed, which seems to be a not-infrequent problem for him—he can continue to function. In addition to this, he is equipped with a hyper-reactive trans-scanning and reformatting system that allows him to totally reconfigure his alternate mode with ridiculous speed, meaning that he can be something one minute, and something completely different the next. Although this is something which he does regularly anyway, it also works regardless of what state of disrepair he may be in, making it quite the challenge to keep track of him.

Frenzy first appears when he infiltrates Air Force One to hack into the U.S. military's mainframe to find out Megatron's location. The military officials disrupt the downloads and send three secret service agents after the infiltrator, but Frenzy kills them and escapes. He then aids Barricade in locating Sam Witwicky. When let loose on Sam and Mikaela Banes, Frenzy attacks Sam but is decapitated by Mikaela using a reciprocating saw. He survives the injury and leaving his inert body behind, his head sprouts spider-like legs for movement, reformats into Mikaela's mobile phone and hides in her bag.
Later, he infiltrates the Hoover Dam and uses the power of the All Spark to regenerate his lost body. In the original script as well as the comic adaptation, he reattaches his original body, which is brought to him by the other Decepticons. He then proceeds to shut down the cooling systems, resulting in Megatron's reawakening, and alerts the Decepticons to the All Spark's presence. While attacking a group of humans in the control rooms, Frenzy accidentally kills himself when one of his own shurikens goes full circle and slices his head in two as he says "Oh shit."

In Revenge Of The Fallen, Seymour Simmons kept Frenzy's head with his secret stash of stolen Sector Seven material in the basement below his mother's deli. Leo Spitz reached out to touch it, but Simmons shooed him away, saying it was still radioactive.

ALTERNATE MODES
Frenzy can transform into various objects such as a GPX Boombox, a Black Nokia 8800 phone (head), and a car stereo. His weapons include a small automatic weapon on each hand and CD-like shurikens that fire out of his chest.

Transformers AOE film informatics Part 35: Barricade

Barricade is apparently a complicated robot. He's considered "fractious" even by Decepticon standards, yet is willing to give Starscream the benefit of the doubt and follow where he leads, at least for the time being. Though not totally dedicated to the service of the Decepticons' current leader, he is much more cautious and reserved about expressing mutinous dissent than say most. He believes that Starscream is vital in their search for Megatron and the AllSpark. In many ways this makes him Starscream's closest ally in the naturally combative Decepticon ranks. Then again, it's been said that he likes to trick people into trusting him, just so he can see their reactions when they find out just how much of a bad idea it was. As such, he has disguised himself as an Earth police car in an attempt to fool the humans around him. He is the perfect Earth infiltrator and inquisitor.

If his attitude toward his fellow Decepticons is inconsistent, his attitude toward the Autobots is not: he seeks to kill them all. Barricade might not be as large as most of his peers, but he is every bit as deadly. He thoroughly relishes every chance in fighting the Autobots. He's smart enough to let one live if he thinks he or the Decepticons can use it to their advantage, but most of the time, they're dead before someone's even thought of a plan.

ALTERNATE MODE
Barricade transforms into a black Saleen S281 police car, with the words "To Punish and enslave" imprinted on his rear quarters, a parody of the classic police slogan "To Protect and Serve". He is able to house Frenzy in a compartment within his chest, ejecting him from his front grill.

Transformers AOE film informatics Part 34: Laserbeak

An example of a mechanimal re-engineered to serve Transformers, Laserbeak serves the Decepticons primarily as a scout and spy for Soundwave. But that doesn't mean he isn't capable of other tasks, such as hunting down targets for capture, be they human or Autobot.
Perhaps the most useful of his abilities is to transform into almost any type of alternate mode, even those who aren't alternate modes.

Laserbeak kills Alexi Voskhod after he brings NEST to Chernobyl. Later, on the orders of Megatron, Laserbeak kills all of the human collaborators except Dylan Gould, at one point transforming into a small pink version of Bumblebee to infiltrate a house. After Jerry Wang tells Sam what he knows, Laserbeak shoves him out a window to his death, and chases Sam through his office. Along with Soundwave and Gould, he takes Carly Spencer captive to force Sam to cooperate with the Decepticons. Later, in the form of a TV screen, he guards Gould's Chicago penthouse; he attacks Sam when the latter arrives trying to rescue Carly. While fighting with Sam, Sam manages to push Laserbeak's head in front of a gunship's weapon, which blows off Laserbeak's head and destroys him.

ALTERNATE MODE
Laserbeak is shown to take on multiple forms, including a LCD television screen and Canon Color imageCLASS MF8350Cdn All-in-One printer. His primary form is a Dragonhawk heliplane.

Transformers AOE film informatics Part 33: Ravage

Ravage specializes in infiltration. A frequent partner of Soundwave, he does the dirty work of the larger Decepticon. Ravage's body and armament are all dedicated to hitting the enemy before they even know what hit them. He can be orbitally inserted at fifteen times the speed of sound, spy inside highly secure locations using swarms of microcons, and generally ruin your day. He respects the danger humans present though, as they were the ones who managed to defeat Megatron.

Perhaps due to his origin as a reengineered mechanimal, some doubt Ravage's sentience, and there is debate on the degree to which he is a distinct entity, rather than an extension of Soundwave's will. However, he's displayed guile, cunning, and split-second tactical thinking, making it hard for others to believe he does not have some innate intelligence. In reality, Ravage just considers the other Decepticons beneath him, and allows his eerie, silent ways and manner to alienate him from his comrades. Soundwave is the one exception: the two are kindred spirits, understanding each other's true nature and motives.

In Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Ravage was launched to Earth by Soundwave with the objective to steal an Allspark shard. He landed in the ocean near the NEST base, and quickly jumped over the fence. He searched the area, coming to a ventilation pipe that leads to the Allspark shard room. He disgorges thousands of what appear to be ball bearings down the pipe. These tiny transformers known as the Microcons, combined into a razor-thin robot (named Reedman) which acquired the shard, and escaped from the base. Ravage covered their retreat as he heads to the Constructicons before accompanying them to revive Megatron. Ravage also deployed Scalpel when they find Megatron.

Ravage reappeared at the final battle in Egypt, when Bumblebee is amidst the fight with Rampage. Ravage jumps onto Bumblebee's back and attacks him violently. Bumblebee grabs Ravage and rips out his tail, pulling out his spine with it, killing him (ouch). Bumblebee even used the tail as a whip briefly against Rampage (double ouch!).

ALTERNATE MODE AND WEAPONRY
Ravage's alternate mode is an entry pod-missile that is launched by Soundwave from orbit to the Earth. Ravage is armed with what appears to be twin heavy machine guns mounted on his back, possibly firing standard projectiles or Cybertronian ammunition of some nature. Other armaments belonging to Ravage are mounted to his chassis, one being a mace-like tail and razor edged claws. Presumably due to his serrated appearance with multiple sharp, bladed edges, contact with him at all may cause some damage.

REEDMAN
Reedman is the form taken by a swarm of microcons when they combine together. The combined, mantis-like form is razor-thin, allowing for nigh-invisibility when seen from certain angles.

Transformers AOE film informatics Part 32: Soundwave

Soundwave, the Decepticon communications officer and one of Megatron's staunchest supporters, doesn't just master the frequencies that carry information across our planet, he revels in them. Stationed high in the upper atmosphere and capable of processing millions of data streams at once, he is fully capable of taking over communications on a planetary scale. Whether he uses this to direct civilization or destroy it remains to be seen.

Soundwave has two extremely powerful weapons: his spread of sonic cannons... and Megatron. If any Decepticon crosses him, he does not hesitate to send a full record of said Decepticon's failures to Megatron, almost certainly ensuring an untimely demise. His lofty position has made Starscream suspicious, so Soundwave has his minion Ravage keep an eye on the Air Commander if he gets out of hand. Soundwave is also nearly defenseless in space, as his devastating sonic cannons only work within the atmosphere.

In Revenge of the Fallen, Soundwave spends his time hovering above Earth in orbit. He receives a message from Wheelie about Mikaela Banes possessing a shard of the Allspark and orders him to retrieve it. Docking onto a satellite and hacking it, Soundwave intercepts information on the location of Megatron's corpse and the Allspark shard. He deploy his servant Ravage to retrieve the shard and sent the Constructicons to rendezevous at Megatron's resting place. After the death of Optimus Prime, Soundwave carried out Megatron's orders to prepare the Decepticons for the invasion of Earth. While coordinating attacks, Soundwave located Sam Witwicky's parents in Paris, France, and called Judy Witwicky via her cell phone. He demanded she tell him where Sam was, but Judy did not take him seriously, believing him to be a pervert caller, and hung up. He later intercepted calls from the Egyptian government on Sam's location, and informed the other Decepticons. Soundwave did not take part in the last battle, although Ravage did and was killed by Bumblebee.

In Dark of the Moon, Soundwave is revealed to have been on Earth since the 1970s. He discovered the Autobot ship, the Ark on the Moon, and recruited various human servants from the U.S. and Russian space agencies to prevent further exploration of it following the initial Moon landings, while he ordered a large army of Decepticons to steal most of the pillars onboard and hide under the moon's surface. In the modern day he appears at Megatron's base in Africa, where he and Laserbeak report the Autobot's recovery of Sentinel Prime and the remaining pillars from the crashed Ark. Megatron praises Soundwave's initiative in the decades-long plan and orders him and Laserbeak to kill their human allies. The only human they don't kill, Dylan Gould, has Soundwave disguise himself as a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG that belonged to Sam's girlfriend, Carly, in order to get close to the Autobots. He reveals himself and captures Carly once the two humans learn of Gould's alliance with the Decepticons, and threatens her in order to convince Sam to discover the Autobot's plans.

During the Battle in Chicago, Soundwave and Barricade lead several Decepticons in capturing some of the Autobots. Gould convinces Soundwave not to take prisoners, and Soundwave orders the others to execute their "trophies". Once Wheeljack is dead, Soundwave prepares to kill Bumblebee himself, but a Decepticon ship hijacked by Wheelie and Brains drops fighters near Soundwave, distracting him as the Autobots began fighting back. Bumblebee attacks Soundwave who tries to shoot him, but is confused among the crushing ships and shoots the other Decepticons. Bumblebee killed Soundwave by throwing an uppercut and sticking his gun in Soundwave's chest and shooting. This caused Soundwave's head to blast off, killing him instantly.
