HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO...
29th July- Sinjie and Wanting
30th July- Nurul Maideen and Arnold Schwarzenegger
Ok, finally I can get to upload the pics I took at Indoor Stadium on Saturday...!
After nearly 6 hrs of serving many sweet-faced babes at work, I knocked off at 5 pm exactly and headed for early dinner at Lucky Plaza. Then I took a bus from there and reached the stadium rather early at 1810 hrs. Then I headed to the corridor with the vending machines, where I saw Shane Mardjuki aka the host of "Spell Cast" waiting for a friend. At 1840 hrs, the wrestlers turned up, and they came at this order...
Finlay- he seemed rather dao... even when people were chanting his name
The Great Khali- rather loud chants of "Khali", and most of the fans (myself included) were amazed by his towering build
Michelle McCool
Chris Masters- muscles quite solid
Domino- he showed the peace sign
The Major Brothers- they waved back
Batista- the fans went ballistic!!
Rey Mysterio- very few fans could actually recognize the little guy without da mask
John Morrison
Kane- I was prob the only one who actually shouted "KANE!!"
Cherry
Chavo Guerrero- some chants
Tommy Dreamer- he showed the peace sign
Deuce
Ric Flair- very loud "WOOOOOOOO!!!"
Elijah Burke- chants of "E-C-W!!"
After that, I headed to the merchandise stall to wait for Tris... all the Batista, Undertaker and Edge shirts got sold out by 1915 hrs. Me and tris then went up to the North Entrance of the stadium... where we encountered impersonators of the Boogeyman, Kane and Jimmy Wang Yang. The queue outside was like freaking long, but it didnt really matter (after all, we got da tix to the show). At 8 pm exactly, the show begun... TIME TO RUMBLE!!!
Opening match- Chris Masters vs Ric Flair
The Nature Boy obviously got the loudest cheers... he managed to avoid getting a Master Lock from the Masterpiece, and won the match with the Figure Four.
WWE Tag Team Title match- Deuce and Domino (champions) vs The Major Brothers
The 70s rock n roll duo retained the gold by delivering "Crack 'Em In The Mouth" onto Brian, and Brett was unable to break the pin when he tripped over the ropes.
Diva Match- Michelle McCool vs Victoria
Sexy and sultry Diva Search 2004 finalist Michelle managed to escape a Widow's Peak and win the match with a McCool Backbreaker onto the slightly psychotic Diva. How I wish Torrie Wilson were here... :-/
ECW Singles- Stevie Richards vs Elijah Burke
Singles match- Finlay vs Kane
The Big Red Monster clearly had the bigger advantage, and managed to kick out from the sneak attack from Finlay's shillelagh. Kane then had a moment of humor with Finlay's partner-in-crime Hornswoggle (who had tried to interfere), when the leprechaun placed his hat onto Kane's head and tried to chokeslam him!! Kane went on to chokeslam Finlay and win the match... despite losing the match, Finlay would entertain the fans a little by doing that 'jump-clap-legs' thingy!
Intermission for 10 minutes...
ECW Title Match- Tommy Dreamer vs John Morrison (champion)
John Morrison wowed the fans with his breakdance legdrops, whereas the ECW Original used his technical prowess to try weakening the cocky youngster. Morrison retained the title by hitting a corkscrew neckbreaker onto Dreamer.
Cruiserweight match- Rey Mysterio vs Chavo Guerrero
In this match between former friends-turned-bitter-enemies, Rey (who is scheduled to make his return to the ring by Summerslam) managed to survive Chavo's Gory Special as well as the Three Amigos, recovering quickly enough to deliver the 619 and a "Drop Da Dime" headbutt to win the match.
And now, the MAIIIIN EVENT...!!!
World Heavyweight Championship match- Batista vs The Great Khali (champion)
It was a grueling yet rather slow match, mostly because Khali was a rather slow fighter, being a giant with weak knees. Some fan even shouted "Eh Khali! Murtabak satu!" Due to interference from Finlay, Batista won the match by DQ. Kane later came in, and another match was thus added... when The Animal called Khali a 'great big chicken' for trying to run away, the World Champion had no choice but to accept the challenge. After that, the fans started chanting, "Khali Chicken!", best chant of the night!!
Tag Team Match: Batista and Kane vs The Great Khali and Finlay
Quite a funny end... when Khali Chicken, I mean Great Khali got trapped in the ropes, Batista and Kane picked up a helpless Hornswoggle and rammed him into the helpless Punjabi Giant. HA, Midget Battering Ram! After a Double Chokeslam onto Khali, Batista went on to finish off Finlay with the Batista Bomb.
When the ring was cleared (with Kane chasing after Hornswoggle, Finlay staggering out and Khali walking away with the World Title), Batista posed for the fans for the last few minutes, knowing that he would settle scores with Khali and reclaim the World Title in the near future... with that, the show ended at 11 pm.
A bit sad that MVP, Matt Hardy, CM Punk and esp Edge couldnt come... still, I enjoyed the entire event :-)
Superstars that did not make it on the show:
Edge (injured), Undertaker (injured), CM Punk, Marcus Cor Von, Mark Henry, Torrie Wilson, Matt Hardy, Montel Vontavious Porter, Boogeyman, Matt Striker, the Cruiserweights!! Extreme Expose
...and of course Chris Benoit
