Lots of confusing stuff

28th July: Matthew P's birthday
29th July: Fadzyl's birthday
30th July: Nurul Maideen's birthday

29th July: Usual boring stuff in school... went to bubble tea shop near school wif James, Amber, Xiaowei, Cheryl and Lincoln. Then back to more drawing, and head off to work from 5 to 10.30 pm. Thats abt it, I dont feel like working on Fridays from next week onwards. Need more time to rest and study
30th July: Sad to see Penelope, Jeanette, Sujeeta, Steph and Joanie step down from their positions as YM leaders... thats the only way the YM can truly function well (even wif Pastor Eddy moving on to adult cell and being succeeded by Whitley). How I regret not being ble to know them a little more (tho I do talk to Penel occasionally). Blame it mostly on my infrequent attending YM due to work and other stuff. After eating a roll of popiah upstairs, I went to work as usual for abt 4.5 hrs... then I watched TNA Slammiversary (shocking end to "King Of The Mountain" main event!!) til 1 am before going for 5 hrs of sleep
30th July: Got a meeting at 0830 hrs so obviously I had to give church service a miss by waking up very early and taking a train from Kovan. Met Jeff at Dhoby Ghaut Interchange and talked to him a bit on TNA Slammiversary. Then I went for quick breakfast at BK @ Liat Towers. After that I went for cre member meeting on what we must do to boost up the HDC standard for our outlet. Then I went to Borders for a few minutes to read some Star Wars books on the different classes of droids used in the Star Wars universe. Then started work at 11 am, and knocked off at 5 pm so I can head to my uncle's house to attend some feast in commemmorance of my uncle's death anniversary. I spent most of the time sending pics of Paul, Joakim, Jasmine and Gayle to my nephew's camera phone via infrared. And also showing him the photos I had taken so far and discussing on the fates of the remaining Singapore Idol finalists. Me and folks went back home at abt 10 pm... went to sleep early for another dreadful start on Monday morning.

Emilee ousted... sigh :-(

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO JEAN PAUL LEVESQUE AKA THE GAME... TRIPLE H!!!
To that elephant-thighed antisocial 'Samoan' who stalked me all the way from school to McDonald's (can u at least let me haf my lunch in peace by going somewhere else and dont scare me from behind!!!) and back to school again in the afternoon, I GOT TWO WORDS FOR YA... S**K IT!!!

My thoughts on the Final 10? Jonathan, Hady and Mathilda were the best performers so far. Rahimah and Emilee did pretty well too (damn, they both looked great!!). Paul was going off-key wif Moondance. Altho Jay had good vocal control and technical prowess, his stage presence wasnt very captivating. Nurul's rendition of "The Way You Look Tonight" was a little dull. Jasmine was too cutesy for "Almost Like Being In Love", whereas Joakim's vocals were still as weak as ever.
The third person to go home tonight was... EMILEE KANG. Still it was a bit of a rude shock to see Rahimah at the Bottom 3 (and boy was she really pissed)... and I thot she was one of the better singers?!?! A lot of people thot Jasmine would go since she was the weakest (but then to be honest, nobody wants their fave to be booted out rite?). But then I wasnt too surprised that Emilee had been booted out... but still this just isnt right, esp since this was her very first attempt at jazz.
At first I wasn't really crazy abt her when I first saw her at Wisma Atria on the 17th of June... even after watching her performance the following Wednesday night. Truth be told I initially didnt think she deserved to be in the Final 12. But then I slowly came to realise that maybe I should give her a chance. And sure enough I did, and I was happy to see her at Bugis and Bishan earlier this month. And yes it was (sort of) a dream come true when I got to give Emilee a big hug on stage, and believe me, I nearly got 'burnt'!! It wasn't her 'hot babe looks' that attracted me, it was more on her positive attitude, optimistic outlook on life and strong personality.

Emilee's certainly not the weakest singer since she's been showing improvement week after week. I liked her even more when she sang "Believe"... her vibrato was clearly wearing off even tho it wasnt her best performance. And she showed great improvement wif "Just Like A Pill" the following week. And "Making Whoopee" was her best to date.
Now that the Idol journey for Emilee has ended, I'll miss her plenty, she's like an older sister I never had... all the best in your future endeavors!! Stay sweet and pretty always, Emilee... love u always :-)

Congrats!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO NORAINI

Paul Levesque aka Triple H is now a father... Stephanie McMahon just gave birth to a baby girl in the 40 minutes of RAW. Little surprise then that Vince, Shane and The Game were noticeably absent, forcing the scriptwriters to go wif their backup plan, leaving Shawn Michaels to face The Coach and suffer the wrath of the Samoan Bulldozer Umagaaaa and that irritating, cigar breaking bugger-of-a-manager Armandoooooo Alejandroooooo Estradaaaaaa... could be those two were still angry over DX for rrrruining their prrrre-match and post-match prrrromos 3 weeks ago through the prrrroduction trrrruck (haha!!).
Anyway, back to the new arrival of Vince's third grandchild and first ever granddaughter... their daughter is named Aurora Rose Levesque, and she weighs a healthy 8lbs 7oz. Who knows she may be spraying water or playing with toy sledgehammers, hahahaha!! LONG LIVE THE PRINCESS OF PRINCESSES!!!

I cant believe this!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO KENNETH SOH!!

Wah kau, I cant believe what I just read in The New Paper!!! A 50-year old Chinese guy died in his flat due to heart failure, weak muscles and breathing difficulties... sounds rather suspicious??? Thats because the poor guy weighs a DRASTIC 300 KG... THAT'S 660 POUNDS!!!! And his height is abt 1.7 m... u divide his weight by the square of his height to check his BMI... believe me, the result is at an EXTREMELY MORBID RATE!!!!
The guy named Mr Tan A B got depressed after resigning from his storekeeper's job in 1999... so much that he binged on all types of fatty food he could lay his hands on, other than slacking at home and watching TV... u name it, we have it: cheeseburgers, chicken drumsticks, spagetthi, pizza, potato chips, ice cream... the list goes on and on. Originally weighing 90 kg, his weight ballooned to 200 kg within 5 years, and then to 300 kg late last year. And he was so big, he couldnt fit into any of his clothes (not even his underwear, it would be very difficult and costly to make a XXXXL-sized pair for him) so he had to wear a sarong (leading many to think that he's a Malay, and some Star Wars fanatics to mistake him for Jabba The Hutt from afar!!). And u thot life was tough for former WWE wrestlers like Bastian Booger or the late Yokozuna. I remembered my army friend Shaiful who weighed a hefty 175 kg... shunned by most of his bunkmates due to his enormous size and poor working attitude (yes, he took MC more times than anyone else). I wonder what happened to him now.
Had his wife and brothers sought professional help much earlier (like say, a psychiatrist), this would not haf happened. They must be regretting not being able to save him from destroying himself. I can roughly guess how stressful the funeral parlour workers were when they found out they had to make a coffin thrice the height, twice the width and abt twice the length of a normal coffin, simply bcos the guy's legs were the size of an elephant's The coffin alone weighed 250 kg. It took 10 big-sized men to carry the coffin from the lorry to the void deck. And it took the men abt 2 hours (perhaps even more) to move the poor guy's body up to the 11th floor and then back to the ground floor. And due to the fact that the coffin could not fit into the cremation chamber, the only solution was to give Mr Tan a burial, even though he would not get his wish.
My advice to you people? Firstly watch your diets... secondly, don't look down and mock your friends who are obese... thirdly, cherish the love given to you by your family members and friends... last but not least, if you know a friend who's having a weight problem and undergoing severe depression, do seek professional help. DON'T WAIT TILL IT'S TOO LATE.

Back to school!! SIAN...!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO SYAZALI... THE CEREBRAL ASSASSIN

Some things hadnt changed much... the moment I arrived in school, I realised that I was the VERY FIRST PERSON from my class to be present!!! Then abt 7 or 9 more people turned up for the National Anthem (yawn...), the school song (double yawn) and the principal's long-winded announcements (TRIPLE YAWN!!!). And as usual, a few classmates reached the classroom after 0830 hrs, and some even arrived after 9 pm!! And the remainder came after 12 pm... AS USUAL.
Not everyone brought along their PE attire but that didnt matter, at least Mdm Banou was quite understanding, she gave us all chance. And quite unsurprisingly, 'Edge and Lita' disappeared after the PIE lesson (and they kept touching each other!!!)... I wonder what they've been doing for the past 3 weeks. Who knows if 'Lita' comes to school wif a slight bulge abt one month from now, haha!!!
Figure Drawing is quite a bore as usual, 'nuff said. 'The Bad Example' turned up late for school AS USUAL. I was too tired to collect my camera phone, so I went back home and took a rest. Not much done after that other than watching "Ai Qing Ling Du C"... oh yah wait, I went for a haircut!! Now I got a new hairdo, and feel at ease... and I look forward to 4 more days of boredom...

Heal Me

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO CHRISTOPHER LEE AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO STEFANIE SUN
My flu is getting better, and to tell the truth I went for the Lime party at @Scape (the open space next to Orchard Cineleisure) to get autographs from the Final 10 Singapore Idol finalists yesterday afternoon at abt 4 pm. Stay tuned for pictures of the event coming up.
Here's another song dedicated to all the Gayle fans in 'mounring' as well as in reflecting the interpersonal crisis Im currently going thru... and yes, that's a pic of me and Gayle taken on the 4th level of Tampines Mall at abt 1540 hrs, on the 24th of June, nearly one month ago.

HEAL- Westlife

Even though you're near me, I need you far away
To be an ocean, to build another way

I'll be broken, and I know it
But I just can't seem to find another way

Chorus:
Though you want to, though you try to
You can't stop the rain
For the first time, it's not you
Who can heal me

I need some distance to find another road
It's not so easy, sorrow's such a heavy load

I'll be broken and I'll show it
But I'm gonna have to live without you here

Chorus
Though you want to, tough you try to
You can't stop the rain
For the first time it's not you
Who can heal me

Poets say as time's a case
Broken souls will mend
But you will come around again
So my sorrow's gonna end

But it's not you... heal me now
But it's not you... heal me

Chorus 2X
Though you want to (though you want to)
Though you try to (though you try to)
You can't stop the rain
For the first time it's not you
Who can heal me...

Heal me

My thoughts on the Final 12 performances

Happy Belated 24th Birthday to Sujeeta

My ratings for the contestants... in order of appearance:

Gayle- She performed very very well wif "I Feel The Earth Move"!!! She keeps getting better!!! She truly has the X-factor!! 9/10
Rahimah- She looked very pretty!!! Tho she sounded a little drunk, I think she has taken a big risk by looking more feminine in the black attire!! but as Ken had stated, this wasn't the real Rahimah. 8/10
Mathilda- With her rendition of Goldfinger, she was THE BEST OF THE FEMALES!!! Should try to lose the 'arrogance' in her performance tho. 9.5/10
Hady- The most natural of the lot, his rendition of Robbie Williams' "Rock DJ" was a smart choice, and very well done!!! 9/10
Jay- In his valiant attempt to sound different, his prefromance of "My Funny Valentine" fell flat. But his technicial abilities and vocal control pulled him through. 6.5/10
Emilee- Tho she had shown some improvement and looked really hot, the vibrato is still evident (tho less obvious than before) and she still looked like a getai singer. 7/10
Joakim- showed some improvement wif his rendition of Take Taht's "How Deep Is Your Love". Charming and smooth delivery. 8/10
Nurul- we know she's a fan of Stevie Wonder, but the song her parents chose for her was a very difficult one to master, and she didnt quite do it justice in spite of a valiant effort. 6/10
Norman- his vocals were the weakest of the lot, lacking the power and the pitch for a bad song choice that left him 'high and dry'. Didnt help that he lacked the technical prowess that Jay possessed, but then again noboody's perfect. 5.5/10
Jonathan- Wowwee he's simply THE BEST!!! He may haf gone offkey a few times, but thankfully his overall stage presence and charisma made him stand out from the rest. 10/10
Jasmine- Super sweetie!!! Has potential, but a little too saccharine to deliver a powerful song like "Aint No Mountain High Enough"... and she looked a little obiang in that dress and hairdo. 7/10
Paul- Quite good with the song for the Smallville series, but second only to Jon's performance. His hair flinging is a bit distracting tho. 9/10

Break It Down!!

There was a temporary power shutdown today, and it started at 0920 hrs. Not to worry, we still managed to find something to do during the few hours of 'disadvantage'... I followed Mum and Bro to Bishan J8 to settle some stuff at DBS... then we had lunch at Cafe Cartel, and did a bit of shopping. We originally thot of watching a movie but then a 3 o' clock movie would be too late, so yeah we went back home wif groceries. And the power came back at 1615 hrs!! Oh goody, can watch TV... muahaha!! Looking forward to the first spectaculars of Singapore Idol tonight... not to forget "Love @ 0 degrees Celsius" and WWE Raw!! Speaking abt RAW superstars... here's the main theme for all u DX fans out there (this being the first month since Triple H and Shawn Michaels had reunited)
And if anyone of you out there reading this aint down wif that, then I got TWO WORDS FOR YA... errmmm, you know what they are.

The name of my blog has changed!!

Happy Birthday to Kelly Poon!!
I dont know what the fuck is going on wif me these days... it seems I cant even haf the freedom to do anything I want. I dont like being controlled, I dont like being asked where Im going, and I CERTAINLY HATE BEING SCREAMED AT. I am already trying very very hard to change into a better person and yet people STILL lose their cool and yell right at my face, and I TOTALLY HATE THAT!! I am not as strong as you all think, I get hurt very easily by your so-called advice, so please leave me alone and stop trying to tell me what to do and what not to do!!! This is exactly why I haf decided to change the name of my fucking blog. Yes thats right... like it or not, I am becoming a little rebellious, a little defiant, and I am NO PUSHOVER. I DO NOT LIKE PEOPLE PISSING ME OFF WITH THEIR NAGGING, THEIR SCOLDING AND THEIR HURTFUL REMARKS ALL THE TIME. THE MORE YOU YELL AT ME, THE ANGRIER I GET, AND THE MORE I WILL CONVERT THE PAIN INFLICTED ONTO ME INTO STRENGTH AND RAGE.
And if anyone of you out here aint down with that, then I JUST GOT TWO WORDS FOR YA...SUCK IT!!!!!!

My thoughts on Superman Returns

Happy Birthday to Meow Rong!!!
I watched Superman Returns yesterday... what can I say, it was worth the watch!! :-) Bryan Singer did an EXCELLENT JOB to the film, staying true to the continuity of the old films (despite being 19 years apart) by bringing back Marlon Brando's introductory speech, John Williams theme wif the classic fonts for the main titles (complete wif cool effects on planets exploding) and also the last scene wif Superman flying into outer space (standard ending for all Suprman films). Oh in case u didnt know, the film is dedicated to both Christopher Reeve (who died of cardiac arrest on October 10th 2004) and Dana Reeve (who died on March 6th this year due to lung cancer) in the end credits.
A few noteworthy mentions:
- At the start of the film, a sickly old lady was shown talking to Lex Luthor and managed to sign the will before dying... that lady was named Mrs Vanderworth and it was she who fought for Lex's release, and in return the bald maniac married her in return and promised to take care of her; her signature on the will would mean that Lex would inherit everything she has, since she didnt want to leave it to any of her family members who had abandoned her. She had two dogs at the start of the film... later when Lex and his henchmen return to the mansion, it was shown that one of the dogs had (gasp) EATEN THE OTHER ONE UP!!!
- Bryan Singer recently explained how the late Marlon Brando reprised his role as Superman's father, Jor-El: "What we did is we went back to footage from the original Superman and re-created Jor-El using computer technology based on references to the Richard Donner film. ... The challenge is that, when you have an actor, you can scan them using a cyberscan and a lumispheric scan to re-create them all the way down to the pores on their tongue or the hair on their ears. But since we didn't have Brando (who died prior to filming), we didn't have the actor. All we had was reference photography and film footage, so we had to reconstruct him in a computer. It was very challenging."
- The film's main storyline concerns an attempt by Lex Luthor (who was released from prison during Superman's absence) to harness stolen Kryptonian technology. Luthor steals several crystals from Superman's Fortress of Solitude, and uses holographic recordings of Superman's father to learn that on Krypton, such crystals were routinely used to "grow" useful objects such as buildings and vehicles, and could even be used to grow entirely new landmasses. Luthor sets out to grow a new continent in the Atlantic Ocean, the size and displacement of which will cause most of the United States to flood. In the ensuing chaos, he will leverage his possession of the crystal technology to become a world superpower.

Another significant sub-plot concerns the paternity of Lois' son Jason, which wasnt revealed til the very end... who is seen as an ashmatic kid at the early parts of the show.
- When Lois and Jason are being held hostage by Luthor, Jason shows an aversion to a kryptonite crystal when it was being held by Luthor. Lex notices this, too, and seems to draw the same connection (he actually FELT the raction). Then when he asked Lois about who the boy's father is, Lois simply replied, "Richard". And then at the same time the boatman informs Lex abt their co-ordinates, and Lex said "Are you sure?", replying to Lois' answer rather than the boatman's transmission.
- When Lois' life was being threatened by one of Lex's henchmen named Brutus, a piano comes FLYING FORWARD at Brutus and KILLING HIM... and it was Jason who PUSHED the piano (his hands were outstretched). He is about to take a breath from his inhaler soon after that, but then he realizes he NO LONGER needs it.
- Moreover, Jason seems to know that Clark Kent is Superman by comparing Clark's face with Superman's face on the TV in the main office, and reacting with surprise. AND as Richard had mentioned to Lois, Jason scored A for science and D for gym... something quite remarkable for a kid who's only 5 years of age.

Like Reeve in the classic movies, Brandon Routh is tall, dark, handsome, and so sincere as to be faintly comical. The character embodies unadorned decency, and that makes others assume he's a square, especially when he has the Clark Kent glasses on. An actor has to be focused enough and bland enough to make that work, and Routh has both qualifications.

James Marsden IMO did a better job as Richard White in this film than as Cyclops in X-Men 3... even without his powers that is. The main flaw is, without his optic blasts, James cant blast open the cabin door when he, Lois and Jason are trapped inside as it was sinking (oh wait, wrong movie... hehe!!! ). But then James managed to display his excellent piloting skills (same as Cyclops' top skills in fixed-aircraft flying in the first X-Men movie) after he saved Superman and when he flew the plane over some Kryptonite rubble... that was one of the top scenes for Marsden! And altho he lacks the chiselled frame of Brandon Routh, James makes up wif his handsome features such as his pretty blue eyes and shiny white teeth!!

Overall I give it 4 out of 5 stars... A MUST WATCH!!!

Dawn Yeoh at Ngee Ann City Kinokuniya!!

1st July... HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO KYM NG

Just now I went to Kinokuniya @ Ngee Ann City to see Dawn Yeoh's official launch of her very first pictorial book... it's my second time seeing her in person, and yes she looks too cute and pretty for words indeed... too much like a manga character!!! (wowwee quite a lot of fans indeed)
Yep most of the drawings on the pictorial book were designed by her, including the huge 'D' letter... she's really very creative!!! The emcee of the event requested for a guy in a pink shirt to take pic wif Dawn but there was none... then the host asked for a girl in pink to take pic wif her... so happened there was a gal wearing in pink, kena sabo'ed to take pic wif Dawn... in due respect I wont say who it is.
Then came a few surprises... Sebestian Leong, Zheng Geping, Hong Huifang and Dennis Chew Chongqing!!! Sebestian looked really Beng wif golden hair, Huifang had flawless skin and looked prettier in person, Geping also looked rather young in real life, and Dennis... hmmmm I've seen him before, quite short indeed.
Altogether the event lasted for abt 70 minutes... what can I say abt Dawn? She's a really nice and friendly girl... too cute for words indeed. Yes I do think her mind is a bit like a 12-year old's at times... esp when she stares into space and blinks her doe-like eyes. And of course I managed to take pic wif Dawn!!! Before that, I showed her the New Face article (wif her profile of course!!) I had kept all these years ago, and she covered her face in slight embarrassment!!! I think she must be very touched that I still haf the article!!!
So yeah she left the place at abt 1810 hrs, then i headed back home via MRT and had dinner at McDonald's... and headed back home to watch the repeat telecast of the Singapore Idol Wildcard shows. :-)
