Going for various events for next few days... ;-)

Happy Birthday to Mark Pereira and Rachel

I'm setting off for Magic Day later on, for nearly whole day... on Sunday, I will be going for the Creative Industries Fair at Marina Square, and then to the Armed Forces Career Fair at Ngee Ann City. So the next update will be either on Sunday night or Monday. So for now, it's akan datang ;-)

P.S. I took a quiz on Facebook recently, and found out that my addiction to Facebook is "beyond hope". WHOOPS!!! :-X

Creative Industries Fair at Marina Sqaure, plus strange luck

Earlier today, I went to print out a few more posters at Bugis, before going for some interview at Singtel tower, for some position as advertising executive for some SingTel firm. The interview didn't go as smooth as I thought (thanks not to frequent phone calls), and it seemed a lot more challenging than I thought (yes, I admit I started to panic a little). It was mostly due to this interview that I had to postpone my visit to the Creative Industries Fair to about 5 plus...

Anyway, one quick train ride and I reached Marina Square at about 4.30 pm for the Creative Industries Fair. Not only was there a wide range of animation courses, there were also a few pretty babes present at some of the sectors. But what really caught my eye were 2 animation schools... Egg Story Digital Arts School and CG Protege School. Suddenly, my desire for animation has been rekindled after so long... but thing is, I dunno which anime school to sign up for, since both look quite promising. I'm going there again on Sunday to see the presentations so as to get a better understanding of either school... before coming up with a final decision. Meditate on this, I will...

Oh, and to talk about the 'strange luck' part as stated in the title... after having dinner and leaving Marina Square, I was on the way to City Hall station (to get back home of course), I saw a very familiar-looking babe about to walk past me...
None other than Miss Q!!! :-O (lady luck seems to be smiling upon me now, heh)

One year already, and STILL no news of him???

Exactly one year has passed from that fateful afternoon when the infamous Mas Selamat made a prison break from Whitley Detention Center. If there's anyone who has to take the full blame for letting this happen, it had to be those 2 idiotic security guards who failed to do a proper job in !! Then again, there wouldn't be any Facebook accounts or Pac-Mat games dedicated to Singapore's Most Wanted if that hadn't happened... shame on him for caring only about himself and not for his own family (esp his five kids).

The obvious question buzzing around everyone's minds is... where on earth is he now??? (who knows he might indeed be dead and chopped up in some forest or something...)

"A Perfect Cut 2" preview screening at K-Union

Happy Birthday to Kaileng and Hui Feng

Last night, I went to Orchard Cineleisure with Terence, Ryan and Darren to watch the preview screening for the first episode of "A Perfect Cut 2". Event was hosted by Lin Cuifang. Yep, there will be uncomfortable scenes linked to facial scars and skin grafting. Edmund Chen, one of 2 new additions to the cast ensemble, made his debut in the last 5 minutes of the episode, assisting Alex Tan (Thomas Ong) in a difficult surgery. Cameo appearances by Zheng Geping and Lina Ng.

Present at the preview screening were Lina herself, Michelle Tay aka "Yi Da Li" (who plays Xiaoli, girlfriend of Sky Tan played by Julian Hee), Silver Ang and a cute girl named Kanny (the latter two play nurses to Thomas Ong's character Alex Tan). Event was hosted by Lin Cuifang, also present were a few DJs from 97.2 FM. The little girl who played Lina's daughter in the show was also present alongside her real-life mum.

After the event, me and Terence took picture with most of the cast members...

Me with cute gal Kanny (voice like Dawn Yeoh)

Me with Silver :-)

Me with Lina Ng

Me with Michelle Tay

After that, me and Terence took train back to Kovan region. I got back home to watch the Dream Catchers episode which I had recorded.

"A Perfect Cut 2" debuts next Wednesday (4th March) at 10 pm on Channel U... will be shown every Monday to Friday night.

To MKP, you really DO NOT wanna do that...

Warning: this entry contains explicit language.

I have nothing against fat people, for I happen to be one. I also don't have any say against people insulting me, I don't expect everyone to like me anyway. But what I cannot tolerate is people claiming to be very smart and popular, resort to get all the attention for themselves, and take pleasure in insulting others. Last night I read this paragraph from that abomination's blog, and yes I was mightily, totally, extremely, FUCKING pissed off. You all know very well who I'm talking about... none other than MR KIAM PA!! :-(

This is what he said...
I am like freaking FAT now can? Talk about FATS, it reminds me of that stupid FAT ugly donkey. The fattest shit among us, it was totally a turn off. I still remember vividly that time i go into the mediacorp theatre toilet, i saw a huge tummy and i turn my head up to see it was him. I almost puke my dinner out, crap! Anyway i think my tummy is going to grow big already. I have to do something about it. Must start to use my UZAP daily already. Must resume my daily 100 to 200 crunches. I am simply lazy to exercise man! All i do is, eat, eat and eat!!!!! A glutton PIG, faint!

Mr Koh Tze Seng, we know too well how self-conscious you are over your own weight and your looks, how obsessed you are over several artistes and how you fucking harass them, how badly you want to "make out" with your favroite singer (yeeeech!!!), and we also know about your awareness on the many people who despise you for your actions and character. I also know how fat I am getting these days (and I am trying fucking hard to lose weight), but do you really have to rub it in by mentioning me again in your fucking blog entry??? Are you not already FUCKING ugly yourself??? Your face already cannot make it, yet you still want to take 1000 pictures of yourself!!! And you still call me stupid, when you yourself are the stupid one, always typing in lots of nonsense in your blog!!! Your English is still as atrocious as before!!! If I'm "the donkey" in your eyes, then I feel you're 1000 times more DONKEY than me and anyone else, and a lying, childish asshole at that!!! And if you don't 'ever want to get fat', then you might as well DON'T even think about eating the tapioca and coconuts you bought!!!

Sean Koh, I am already trying so fucking hard to mind my own business and refrain from mentioning you nowadays, and you crossed the line once again by your mere mentioning of me in your entry. And thanks again for causing me to once again become an explosive wreak like Christian Bale. If you got a fucking problem with me, then why not you say it in my face or simply send in a message to my email address or Facebook account!!! Go ahead and insult me some more lah, I'm "begging" you to sue me for harassment or online abuse if you dare!! But deep down I can sense that you really do not wanna do that, do you??? Just wait and see what I will do to you next time I see you... I might just give you a punch to your ugly face and a vicious punt kick to your skull, treat it as an early birthday gift. You have been warned.

Vanness at Orchard Cineleisure

Happy Birthday to Gary Huang and Eunice
As stated earlier, I went to Orchard Cineleisure to see Vanness Wu during the evening. He was on stage for only 5 minutes, cos he had to go inside the cinema to watch "Kung Fu Chefs". Still, every second of seeing him in the flesh was worthwhile. :-)

This was how it went... I left the house rather late, took train to Orchard area, and had early dinner. I did a bit of recce-ing around some places, then headed to Orchard Cineleisure at 6 pm (yes, i know I'm quite kiasu). Much to my surprise, the basement wasn't very full at all, got about 20 fans there. I bet you if it were Jerry Yan or Vic Zhou, the response confirm will be even wilder (cos Jerry anc Vic are the more popular of the F4 members). By 7 pm, there were about 50 fans at basement level, with a decent number of people watching from 1st and 2nd level.

I did spot Chen Hanwei at one point... he went to book ticket for some film, then went to draw money and buy some fruits at nearby food court. I nearly wanted to go up to him and congratulate him for being nominated for Best Actor for his role as Chen Bufan in "By My Side", but refrained from doing so. In due respect to Hanwei's privacy, I shan't upload any of the pics I secretly took of him, but I can provide an illustration of what he looked like (pardon my horrible drawing via Paint tool).

The emcee from 100.3 FM (I think) went on stage to start the event, he asked the fans questions on the film, and he then selected 5 Vanness fans on stage to play some game... to pose in the same way as the stick figure in 3 different diagrams. Each of the fans got a white umbrella as prize.

Finally, Vanness graced the stage, most obvious feature is that he was clean-shaven!! Hurray, no more mustache and goatee!! :-) I noticed that his ears stick out a little. I personally prefer him with short hair, but oh well. Vanness talked a bit on the film, and said that his next stop after Dragonfly would be Australia. He spoke in a mixture of English and Chinese (he's an Amercian-born Chinese, duh). Only F4 Fanclub presented him with some blue colored box and a bouquet of flowers, before Vanness went through back door to enter the cinema to watch special preview of "Kung Fu Chefs". Only those fans who won tickets from the Kung Fu Chefs contest sponsored by 100.3 FM were allowed to watch the special preview. I headed home after a bit of exploration around Orchard Cineleisure, reaching home in time to watch another episode of "The Dream Catchers".

Events coming up (some which I will have to miss)

Happy Birthday to Ric Flair and Amber Lim
(WOOOOOOOOOOOO...!!)

Unfortunately, it won't be totally WOOOO for the days to come... there are events I will go for, and others I have to skip due to the choices I made. How I wish I had the power to duplicate myself so I can attend all the events in one shot. But oh well.

Anyway, I am going to see Vanness Wu at Orchard Cineleisure later tonight, he will be there to promote the latest movie "Kung-Fu Chefs" (which he co-sytars with Sammo Hung). Another event on the same day is Fish Leong's 10th album autograph session at Bugis Junction. I know I'm gonna have to miss out on Liang Jing Ru, but that's ok with me... I admit I'm pretty excited to see an F4 member in person for the very first time!! :-)

This coming Friday to Sunday, there is some Creative Industries Fair to be held at Marina Square. Obviously I will be going for this one, to check out the various job opportunities and training programmes provided... linked to Arts & Culture, Media & Commnications, and of course Design. :-)

Here is a list of events which will take place on Saturday...
  • Magic Day at The Arena, Clarke Quay... 1330 to 2030 hrs. This is the event I'm going for, the entire day. Haven't seen JC and Ning for long time already...
  • Campus Superstar roadshow at Bugis Junction, from 3 pm to probably 5 pm at most. Due to commitments with Ultimate Magic event, I have to skip this one (but I will still be seeing the finalists next week).
  • Don't Forget The Lyrics roadshow at Causeway Point from 3 pm to 4 pm I think. It involves Gurmit, Adrian Pang, Tracy Tan, Fiona Xie, etc. Another event I obviusly can't go for due to commitments with Magic Day. There goes my chance to see Tracy again...
  • Armed Forces Career Fair at Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza, from Friday to Sunday. Jeanette Aw would be there on Saturday, and Fiona Xie would be there on Sunday. I can only go check out the fair on Friday and Sunday. Can't go see Jeanette on Sat due to Magic Day commitments, but that's still ok.

Star Awards 2009 nomination list is out!

Happy Birthday to Li Hong and Le Yao

The nomination list for Star Awards 2009 is out! It shouldn't come as any surprise that "The Little Nyonya" got the most number of nominations. You may have noticed that there are six nominees for each category this time round, unlike previous years' Star Awards which had 5 per category.

Best Drama Nominee
小娘惹 The Little Nyonya
黄金路 The Golden Path
一房半厅一水缸 Just In Singapore
不凡的爱 By My Side
一切完美 Perfect Cut
心花朵朵开1 Love Blossoms 1

My prediction: High chance Little Nyonya might win lor. But I'm placing some bets on 'dark horse' "By My Side".

Best Actor Nominees
Qi Yu Wu (The Little Nyonya)
Pierre Png (The Little Nyonya)
Chen Hanwei (By My Side)
Huang Wenyong (Just In Singapore)
Tay Ping Hui (The Golden Path)

Eh, Zheng Geping not in list??? :-O

My prediction: I am torn between Hanwei and Ping Hui. Adrian Pang quite good also.

Chen Liping (The Golden Path)
Jeanette Aw (The Little Nyonya)
Joanne Peh (The Little Nyonya)
Chen Liping (Just In Singapore)
Fann Wong (The Defining Moment)

Arghhh, no Zoe or Rui En??? Also, Best Actress winners Ivy and Yvonne were denied here. Chen Liping nominated TWICE??? KELONGGG!!!! :-(

My prediction: Ok, I am not gonna show any favoritism here (since 2 of my main faves are inside), so this is my honest opinion... either Chen Liping (for Golden Path) or Jeanette might win. 'Nuff said. Comments on dissent or hatred are not to be tolerated here. I beg you readers not to make this another Zoe vs Fann comment feed, as seen in Paul Chan's BaGua TV blog...

Best Supporting Actor Nominees
Darren Lim
Yao Wen Long
Zzen Zhang (The Little Nyonya)
Dai Yang Tian
Chew Chor Meng (The Golden Path)
Zhu Hou Ren (The Defining Moment)

Huh, DYT in this category when he's only a newcomer??? I'm surprised!!

My prediction: Most probably Zzen might win.. his portrayal as the abominable and despicable Robert Zhang was truly unforgeetable at most. But then again, Darren is another strong contender.

Lin Mei Jiao (The Little Nyonya)
Ng Hui (The Little Nyonya)
Eelyn Kok (The Little Nyonya)
Xiang Yun (The Little Nyonya)

Li Yin Zhu (Little Nyonya)
Cai Pei Xuan (The Golden Path)

WHOAAA, most of them from Little Nyonya??? :-O

My prediction: very tough here... either Eelyn or Lin Mei Jiao. I could've betted for Xiang Yun too, but she seemed a bit too submissive here...

Best Newcomer
Dai Yang Tian
Andie Chen
Jerry Yeo
Paige Chua
Koh Yah Hwee
Zhang Zhenhuan

My prediction: most likely Dai Yang Tian, or maybe Andie Chen. :-)

I personally hate it when anyone in general insult any of the younger celebs (dare to say that they suck??? WTH, I have no comment at all), most particularly some of the seven Princesses. And I am even more disgusted by the fact that anyone in particular accuse me of "showing favoritism" towards any of my fave artistes!!! You really do not wanna do that... don't make me give you a vicious punt kick to the head.

And to any detractor out there (esp those who flooded Paul Chan's blog) who wants to condemn any of the artistes or fans yet again, I would just like to tll you to please SHUT THE HELL UP!!!

Missed out an event, and Academy Award wins

Happy Birthday to Zheng Fang and Dira

Man, I can't believe I missed out on a great event yesterday... JC Sum and Magic Babe Ning made an appearance at Suntec Convention Hall No 601 (during SA tours) at two different timings...1530 hrs and 1630 hrs!! I learnt about it only after Terence had called me to inform me about it... at that time, I was already at home!!! Dohhh... that goes to show that I should have visited the Magic Boutique site more often!!!

Then again... I shouldn't even despair for too long, cos I'm still gonna see them this coming Saturday, for 6 hours at that. Ok, enough of the head-slapping.

I happened to find these Wikipedia links on the magic duo...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J_C_Sum
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magic_Babe_Ning

Also, congrats to the following individuals for their Oscar Academy Award wins...
- Sean Penn for Best Actor win (Milk)
- Kate Winslet for Best Actress win (The Reader)
- Heath Ledger for (posthumous) Best Supporting Actor win (The Dark Knight)
- Penelope Cruz for Best Supporting Actress win (Vicky Cristina Barcelona)

Slumdog Millionaire dominated this year's Academy Awards with 8 wins, including Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Musical Score and Best Picture. I think I may be watching this film one of these days this week... :-)

Oh yes, I nearly forgot to mention that today is your last chance to vote for your favorite hunk or babe from Hey Gorgeous season 3 (which isn't creating much buzz due to the 2-minute episodes every Monday evening, before Campus Superstar season 3)... here's the link to cast your votes... http://heygorgeous.mediacorptv.sg/contestants.htm

My thoughts on latest happenings in the WWE

Happy Birthday to Dasmond Koh, Daren Tan and Cheryl Chin SH

Currently things in the WWE seem to be out of control, with controversy swarming over nearly every brand. Soehow becoming like Gotham City if you ask me.

I can feel the heartache within Triple H... his in-laws being assaulted by one cunning viper who covered himself behind lawyers and doctors and even claimed to be 'suffering from some mental condition known as IED'. Firstly, we know that Vince McMahon, chairman of the WWE, got punted in the head just mere minutes after his return on national television, on the week before Royal Rumble. Then Shane feuded with Orton in the weeks to come... only to suffer the same fate as his dad the night after No Way Out. On that very night, we also bore witness to Raw GM Stephanie McMahon getting an RKO, and that led to the new WWE Champion rushing out to attend to his fallen wife, and stare at Orton with anger and hatred in his eyes. Expect a showdown between The Game and The Legend Killer at WrestleMania 25... this could indeed be a good chance for Orton to make use of his Royal Rumble win to face the new WWE Champ, esp since Edge is now in a feud with John Cena.

It is for this very reason (i.e. Orton's assault on the McMahons) that I have decided never to buy the Randy Orton figure. Maybe I will buy Shane McMahon and Vince McMahon, but never will I buy any figure linked to Orton or even his dad. Just as Triple H said, Orton had crossed the line, the one he can never come out from... he made this conflict even more personl than ever.

Another figure I am not gonna purchase is the Edge figure. Sure I enjoyed watching the "Edge: A Decade of Decadence" DVD, but I certainly don't approve of his obsession over gold. As if losing the WWE Champion in the first 3 minutes of the Smackdown Elimination Chamber match at No Way Out wasn't enough, Edge showed others why the fans call him the "Ultimate Opportunist"... by taking out Kofi Kingston and interjecting himself into the Raw Elimination Chamber match, and winning the entire match to become the new World Heavyweight Champion.

Remember the time when Edge won his very first world ttle some 3 years ago, when he cashed in his Money In The Bank opportunity at New Year's Revoultion 2006 to defeat a bruised and bloodied Cena to become WWE Champion for the very first time? He had used the same tactic on May 2007 to defeat a bruised and bloodied Undertaker to become World Heavyweight Champion for the very first time. As most of you know, Edge had relied on mostly dirty tactics to claim a few more world title wins in the months between January 2006 to February 2009. Before we knew it, he is an 8-timeworld champion, having won the WWE Title and the World Title 4 times each. And there's no doubt that former champion John Cena is indeed looking or some payback.

Other points to consider...
- I seriously think that Christian should be drafted to Smackdown after WrestleMania 25 so he can teach his "brother" a lesson. I still find it weird that he could debut on ECW and not even get any promo hinting at his return.
- If The Miz and Morrison defeat Carlito and Primo to win the WWE Tag Team Titles this coming Friday, I'll be damned!!
- The Battle of the Brothers... Jeff Hardy vs Matt Hardy. Similar to any brotherly feud, but probably bettersince both are known to be extreme :-)
- When on earth is Shelton Benjamin ever going to drop the United States title??? He's already been champ for a staggering 8 months!!! I want someone to dethrone this idiot for good!!! :-(
- Hopefully Tommy Dreamer can gain more confidence and win the ECW Title once more before his contract expires in early June...
- WWE action figures in consideration... CM Punk, Rey Mysterio, Stone Cold Steve Austin and probaly Mr Kennedy. Speaking abt which, what happened to the loudmouth from Green Bay, Wisconsin?

Career Fair at Bedok, and first time take pic with "The Queen"!

Happy Birthday to Joyce and Jess

I played a bit of "Quest For Glory 2" in the morning, left the house a few minutes before 12 to go for some Career Fair at Bedok Central...

man I tell you, the place was rather crowded with people, moreover it was frigging hawt (as in the weather). I did make applications for abt 3 to 4 different places (mostly admin duties), and I did spot a rather sweet-looking girl (a bit skinny, but what the heck, I like her all the same) hosting the event. Her voice sounded like Jean Danker, and she bore some resemblance to Rebecca Lim. I couldn't resist taking a few secret shots of her... :-p

Oh yes, I saw this bus at the Bedok Interchange region... I had a good look at the girl's picture on the bus, and found it very familiar!! Turns out that the girl in the "Save The Environment" commercials turned out to be... RACHAEL CHANG HUI SHI!!! :-O

Anyway, I left Bedok after spending about 30 to 40 minutes there, and took a loooong bus ride from Bedok to City Hall region... by the time I reached there, it was raining rather heavily. First thing i did was have a quick lunch at Subway, I hadn't eaten anything since I left the house. My main purpose of going to Raffles City was to try 'catching' at least one of the 2 mum celebs involved in some parenting session at the Stamford Ballroom... Ivy Lee or Zoe Tay. Turned out that Ivy appeared in the first half of the event, and then she left at 3 plus, just when I was on my way up. Bummer!! So I waited around the 4th level, and I made some new friends with a few Zoe fc members.

At 5 plus, Zoe appeared at the refreshment area, signing posters and booklets. Then she went inside the ballroom for group pictures with some mothers. She soon came out and took pic with us fans (well ok, I'm not exactly a diehard fan, but I don't deny the fact that I like Zoe). And yep, this is really the very first time I took pic with the Ah Jie of Caldecott Hill!! :-)

After Zoe left the place in her unique-looking Audi car (she is heading for filming of "The Ultimatum"), the few of us went our separate ways. I had dinner at Bugis Junction, then took another long bus ride back home.

Yes, I was quite aware that there were several events at different locations in regards to Rachel Liang, Rainie Yang, Jiro, S.H.E. and so on... but I didn't go for any of them. I was never into chasing Hongkong or Taiwanese stars for the record... and also bcos I don't really like going for events that are guaranteed to attract a massive crowd (save for the Little Nyonya event at Compass Point, that was totally unexpected and overwhleming).
