A robot is a progammable machine that imitates the actions or appearance of an intelligent creature. Robots can be made in many different ways using all sorts of materials. Most robots share 3 main parts: the control system, the sensors and the actuators.

a) Control System
The "brain" of the robot as it determines its behavior. A robot can be pre-programmed or autonomous. A pre-programmed robot repeats itself  and does not respond to feedback from its environment and will only function in a specific scenario. more complex robots are autonomous; they are able to respond appropiately to the change in the environment. They have a set of sensors that will send information to the control system about their surroundings.

b) Sensors
Sensors act like our human senses. Different sensors have various functions:
i) Cameras can give sight to robots and allow them to "see", allowing the robots to judge aspects of the environment that can only be determined by vision, such as color, shape, size or distance.
ii) Microphones allow robots to detect sound. It can be reprogrammed to be voice-controlled when equipped with a microphone.
iii) Buttons give robots the sense of touch. When a robot is equipped with buttons on its fingertips, it is able to sense objects when it touches them.
iv) A thermometer or barometer give the robot the ability to sense tempearature and pressure.

c) Actuators
Also known as effectors, actuators are the parts of the robot that actually do the work. Actuators receive their command from the control system and respond accordingly. They are usually specific to the task the robot is programmed to do. For example, a Mars rover is equipped with a drill, a shovel, a hammer and a spectometer to analyze Mars' soil. A singing robot is equipped with a speaker to produce sound.

Stars are formed when a cloud of gas collapses under the force of gravity. When the core of a star is compact enough, the gas atoms will fuse to release tremendous amount of energy in a process called nuclear fusion. The life of a star depends on the fine balance between the outward pressure produced by the fusion and the inward pressure exerted by gravity.
In simple term, a star continues to burn as long as there is sufficient amount of gas at the core. The heavier a star is, the faster the fusion is and its lifetime will be shorter. When the star exhausts its fuel, it will either explode in a supernova explosion to become a black hole, a neutron star, or collapse into a white dwarf.

Transformers Exhibition Part 04: The Art of transformation

One of the Transformers' most impressive functions is their ability to scan the local machinery and adapt the appearances of said machines as a disguise that could be used to their advantage in the battlefield. Yet when the robots arrive on a prehistoric planet without any trace of technology, their only option is to adapt the appearances of the planet's indigenous wild animals as their camouflage. The scientists from Cybertron use their advance biotechnology to imitate the looks of wild animals for their armors that allows them to transform from robots to animals.

Transformers Exhibition Part 03: Allspark

IMPORTANCE OF ALLSPARK
The AllSpark is one of the fabled sacred artifacts in the Transformers Universe. It is a large, metallic cube and inscribed with ornate runes. It is believed to be responsible for creating and sustaining the Transformers race and the planet of Cybertron itself.

In truth, the physical AllSpark is but a shell to contain the incredible life-giving energies within. Should that shell be destroyed, the energies will remain as potent as ever, merely waiting for a new vessel to inhabit. Without the AllSpark, Cybertron began to atrophy, becoming an unhabitable world.

The Autobots and Decepticons abandoned their planet, in search for the lost AllSpark that was set adrift in space until it landed on our planet Earth.

In present day, the Autobots have landed on Earth to take on the forms of common automobiles. Soon, the Autobots and the human race will join forces in their fight against the Decepticons, who are trying to seize control over the Earth's resources and its inhabitants.

Transformers Exhibition Part 02: Zone 1 Time Warp

30 years ago, alien robots known as Transformers were born into a timeless story of good versus evil. The transformers toy line had its beginnings in 1983 when Hasbro representatives attended the Tokyo Toy Fair to find something promising that could be imported into the North American market. Takara, a Japanese toy company, at the time was showcasing the Diaclone and Micro Change series. These series of toys consisted of robots that transformed and the rights were bought out by Hasbro to release under a single brand to avoid confusion with other similar toy lines. Thus, the Transformers were born. Today, Transformers delivers an epic experience to fans across entertainment, digital, toys and lifestyle and has grown into a multibillion dollar franchise.
