X-Men First Class film informatics Part 04: Good characters reintroduced

Scott Summers/Cyclops
Scott Summers possesses the ability to fire red beams of concussive force through his eyes, destroying anything around him. His body absorbs energy from the Sun and fuels it into the energy beams stored within his eyes, and he is hence immune to his own power. Due to his inability to switch off the beams, Scott was brought to the X-Mansion by his older brother Alex, where Professor X took him in and helped design a pair of specialized ruby quartz glasses to help block the beams and safely diffuse them. Cyclops was later chosen to succeed his mentor and became the X-Men's field leader.

Jean Grey
With her advanced telepathic and telekinetic abilities, Jean Grey has the potential to be even more powerful than Professor X. With her telekinesis, Jean can move or immobilize objects with her mind, and also create Telekinetic shields and powerful blasts. With her telepathic powers, jean is able to read minds, communicate mentally and project thoughts. Jean is also in possession of the mythical Phoenix Force, which enables her to generate fire and disintegrate matter on a molecular level, and also amplifies her psionic abilities to near-unlimited levels.

Kurt Wagner/Nightcrawler
Kurt Wagner is a mutant with a physical appearance of a demon, which made him an outcast well before his mutant powers fully manifested. He has the ability to teleport short distances, grab objects with his prehensile tail, and also camouflage into shadows.

X-Men Apocalypse film informatics Part 03: Good guys brought forward from Days Of Future Past


Professor X
Professor Charles Xavier is the leader and founder of the X-Men, and one of Magneto's best friends until conflicts of opinion create a rivalry between them and their teams. One of the most powerful telepathic minds of earth, Xavier can read the minds of others, detect when others are nearby, and communicate with them telepathically. A scientific genius, he is also a leading authority on genetics, mutation, and psionic powers. an cause the loss of specific memories or even total amnesia. He can also project powerful mental 'bolts', enabling him to stun the mind of another person into unconsciousness.


Mystique
Once a close friend of Charles Xavier, Raven Darkholme turned against the X-Men and joined Magneto's Brotherhood of Mutants, taking on the identity of Mystique, before going out on her own. She has the ability to assume the appearance of any person via shapeshifting, even copying their voices, fingerprints and retinas. Following the incident at Washington DC, Raven had become a pivotal figure within the mutant community and ushering a new era of pacific co-existence between humans and mutants, though she feels that she is no hero.


Beast
Hank McCoy was a child prodigy, having graduated from Harvard at the age of 15 due to his genius-level intellect. He was eventually recruited to work as a researcher for the CIA's Division X, wherein he investigated supersonic flight and built the Cerebro prototype. One day in 1962, he was approached by The Man in Black, Charles Xavier, Erik Lehnsherr, Moira MacTaggert, and Raven Darkholme during the early formation of the X-Men as a black-ops group. When Charles accidentally exposed him as a mutant, the urbane Hank displayed his physical mutation of prehensile feet and agility, as well as enhanced strength and reflexes.

Havok
Alex Summers, code-named Havok, is a mutant who has the ability to absorb cosmic energy and discharge destructive blasts from the energy. He has had difficulty controlling this power at first, and has to wear a special containment suit equipped with special sensors for measuring and controlling his power output. By the 1970s, Alex no longer requires any chest panel, and has more control of his power, being able to fire straight energy beams from his chest and hands. In 1983, Alex takes his younger brother Scott to the X-Mansion to seek help from professor X, with regards to his inability to control his optic blasts that are at risk of destroying anything in its wake.


Quicksilver
With the ability to travel faster than the speed of sound, this supersonic mutant named Peter Maximoff rightly earns the name Quicksilver. He was recruited by Charles Xavier to free Magneto from the heavily guarded prison located beneath the Pentagon. Later on he learnt that Magneto is his biological father, and 10 years later when he learnt about Magneto's whereabouts, he races off to the X-Mansion to get help from Professor X. He is able to use his speed to cross bodies of water, or run up walls, as well as think at great speeds. Peter can even vibrate his body to become intangible, or destroy anything he touches. As a result, he can dodge oncoming bullets with ease.

X-Men Apocalypse film informatics Part 02: Good vs Evil


The X-Men are a team of mutants who believe that humans and mutants can live together instead of fighting each other.

Professor X/Charles Xavier - leader and creator of the X-Men and the founder of the Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters.
Hank McCoy/Beast - a mutant who has super strength and the ability to switch between human form and blue-furred, bestial form. He was one of Charles Xavier's students, and also a teacher in the Xavier Institute.
Alex Summers/Havok - one of Charles Xavier's first students, and the older brother of Cyclops. He has the ability to generate strong plasma blasts.
Mystique - a mutant with the ability to shapeshift into anyone and also copy their fingerprints, retina and voice.
Jean Grey - a mutant with powerful telepathic and telekinetic abilities.
Scott Summers/Cyclops - a mutant with the ability to fire powerful energy blasts from his eyes.
Kurt Wagner/Nightcrawler - a mutant with a demonic appearance who possesses superhuman agility, teleportation, and invisibility in deep shadows.
Peter Maximoff/Quicksilver - a mutant with the ability to move at superhuman speeds, granted with enhanced durability, stamina, agility and reflexes.
Jubilation Lee/Jubilee - a young mutant with the ability to project pyrotechnic energy plasmoids.


Apocalypse and his Four Horsemen
The Horsemen of Apocalypse are a team of four elite followers of En Sabah Nur. The Four Horsemen are Apocalypse's personal warriors and always play a key role in his plans for mutant conquest and domination.

Apocalypse - real name En Sabah Nur, an immensely powerful and ancient mutant. He is believed to be the very first mutant, having lived for several millennia.
Ororo Munroe/Storm (Famine) - the first to be recruited by Apocalypse, she has the ability to manipulate the weather, in the form of rain, tornadoes, lightning and mist.
Betsy Braddock/Psylocke (Pestilence) - the second to be recruited, the former assistant to a mutant broker is a telepathic and telekinetic mutant capable of generating psionic blades.
Warren Worthington III/Angel (Death) - the third to be recruited, Warren is a mutant who has the ability to fly with large, white-later-metallic wings.
Erik Lehnsherr/Magneto (War) - the last to be recruited, Erik is one of the most infamous mutants, having a stand against humans due to him being a part of the Holocaust and how humans are known to hate and fear mutants. He has the ability to manipulate magnetic force fields and magnetic flight.

X-Men Apocalypse film informatics Part 01: Intro


X-Men: Apocalypse is a 2016 American superhero film based on the X-Men that appear in Marvel Comics. It is the ninth installment in the X-Men film series. Directed by Bryan Singer, with a screenplay by Simon Kinberg from a story conceived by Singer, Kinberg, Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris, the film features an ensemble cast starring James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar Isaac, Nicholas Hoult, Rose Byrne, Alexandra Shipp, Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, Kodi-Smit McPhee, Olivia Munn and Lucas Till.
Since the dawn of civilization, En Sabah Nur was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel's X-Men universe, he is immortal and invincible. Amassed the powers of many other mutants, upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto, to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven Darkholme with the help of Professor X must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.
