Batman v Superman film infomatics Part 5B: Becoming the Man of Steel

For over thirty years, Clark Kent lived in secret, and hid his amazing abilities for fear of being a social outcast. He searched the world, hoping to find more evidence of the Kryptonian race. Finally, he discovered an ancient Kryptonian scout ship buried in a glacier in the Canadian Arctic. He placed the key into a machine on the ship, and saw a hologram of Jor-El his real father.

Jor-El taught Clark many things about Kryptonian history and presented him with a very special gift: a blue colored bodysuit bearing the symbol of the House of El, and with a long flowing red cape. It was on that day that Clark became Superman, and soon became known to the world after he bravely saved the Earth from an alien invasion from General Zod and his Kryptonian henchmen.

Clark soon moved from his hometown of Smallville to the busy streets of Metropolis, taking on a job as a reporter for The Daily Planet. Clark can investigate things without attracting attention, and then use his knowledge to figure out where Superman is needed the most. Metropolis is a major American city, home to millions of people as well as several big businesses like LexCorp.

A Superman statue was erected at one end of the memorial park, in honor of his heroic acts that day. The statue has become a tourist attraction, as people come to pay their respects to Superman and remember how he saved the Earth from destruction.

Even though many people around the world have embraced Superman as a hero, some are sill wary of this savior. After all, everyone knows that the Kryptonian invaders came from the same planet as Superman. And everyone knows that the Man of Steel doesn't answer to anyone; no government or military power can control him. Although Superman always uses his powers to help others in times of great peril, some people can't bring themselves to trust him. This mistrust means that he was to keep hiding his real identity while disguised as Clark Kent. But he's always ready to help people - even those who are suspicious of him - as Superman!
