X-Men Apocalypse film informatics Part 01: Intro


X-Men: Apocalypse is a 2016 American superhero film based on the X-Men that appear in Marvel Comics. It is the ninth installment in the X-Men film series. Directed by Bryan Singer, with a screenplay by Simon Kinberg from a story conceived by Singer, Kinberg, Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris, the film features an ensemble cast starring James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar Isaac, Nicholas Hoult, Rose Byrne, Alexandra Shipp, Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, Kodi-Smit McPhee, Olivia Munn and Lucas Till.
Since the dawn of civilization, En Sabah Nur was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel's X-Men universe, he is immortal and invincible. Amassed the powers of many other mutants, upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto, to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven Darkholme with the help of Professor X must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.
