The true purpose of joining fanclubs?

Happy Birthday to King Bhumibol, Kang Jia Xi and Kang Cheng Xi

If there's one thing that really disappoints me, it's being misunderstood. Like when people assume that I join certain fanclubs 'with the intention of knowing more young girls'. Do you have any idea how I feel deep down inside when I read that??? It shocked me greatly, it really made me feel hurt... in fact, it was like a poison arrow shot through the heart. Goes to show that you few who made those assumptions don't know me well enough. But as you know, I'm neither the petty type nor one to get sensitive rather easily, so I guess I can forgive them for making such assumptions. But still I just wanna make myself very clear on one thing...

I AM NOT A FLIRT OR A SICKO!!!

Anyway, speaking about celeb fanclubs, I sometimes sit down and question the true purpose/agenda of joining fanclubs, though the common reason is that I like the artiste for who he/she is as well as appreciate his/her efforts (excluding the faclubs of WWE or Star Wars, which are 'for life'). But I don't deny the fact that I had quit from a few fanclubs due to 'valid' reasons (at least in my own point of view)... here are some examples:
  • I didn't really quit from Fanclub A, but rather the fanclub practically disbanded right after the artiste quit from showbiz...
  • I quit from Fanclub B because I wasn't really an avid supporter of that celeb... or the fanclub wasn't even a strong one to begin with. A common point with fanclubs of most Singapore Idol or Project Superstar contestants, which last for a limited period of time and fade off at least a month after the competition comes to an end.
  • I quit from Fanlub C because I wasn't happy with the fact that the whole fanclub had been revamped all of a sudden, and not forgetting the fact that most of the original members had already left on their own accord due to similar reasons.
  • I quit from Fanclub D because the committee was either not strong enough, or the celeb was too bochup to even acknowledge the existence of such a fanclub (sad but very true). In short, the fanclub is 'close to exntinction'. And with that, I found it rather pointless to continue staying on.
  • But even if I had quit from the aforementioned fanclubs, does not mean I will 'sever all ties' with the artiste, but rather I will still remain a supporter or close associate. I will still attend events involving the celeb whose fanclub I had quit from, and not show any bias feeling towards them. It's really sad to hear that there are people out there who would actually 'sever their ties' (if that's the right word to use) with said artiste once they quit from that fanclub.

To end off, I will put in a WWE theme that I am rather addicted to, while I get some peace of mind...

Voices- Rev Theory (Randy Orton's current theme)

I hear voices in my head
They council me, they understand
They talk to me...

You got your rules and your religion
All designed to keep you safe
But when rules start getting broken
You start questioning your faith
I have a voice that is my savior
Hates to love and loves to hate
I have the voice that has the knowledge
And the power to rule your fate

I hear voices crying, I see heroes dying
I taste the blood that's drying, I feel the tension rising

[Chorus]
I hear voices in my head
They council me, they understand

They talk to me, they talk to me
They tell me things that I will do
They show me things I'll do to you
They talk to me, they talk to me

All the lawyers are defenseless
All the doctors are disease
And the preachers all are sinners
And the police just take the grease
All you judges you are guilty
All the bosses I will fire
All you bankers will have losses
And politicians are all liars

I see darkness falling, I hear voices calling
I feel justice crawling, I see faith has fallen

(Repeat chorus twice)
