My shift ended before 6 pm, so I was given more time to prepare for the event... I went around good ol' Ngee Ann City and bought an all-new Venom toy. Then I headed to the basement of Takashimaya to wait for the event to commence. Joakim and Paul were invited guests for the event; in fact they seem to be the only Idols to attend more than one New Face event. I nearly forgot that Andrea Fonseka was the host for this annual event. Backup dancers for the night were Styles From Beyond, Fantastic Four and an all-Chinese dance group not from The Dance Floor.

After the show, the first thing I did was approach Paul and Joakim of course... then I took pic wif them. Soon after, I headed to look for Andrea, but the search was difficult. Still, I got to chat wif the guys from Styles From Beyond before they headed upstairs... and then take a picture of the SFBians (Phiz, Hanif, Zaihar and Amsyar). I may haf failed in my mission to meet up wif Andrea once more, but I know that day will come soon... for now, I got other things to worry about :-/

What in the world is happening?!?! Is there no justice at all?!?!

Live The Dream is totally screwed up... but the ones who are really screwed up are the tone deaf fans and friends of a certain SOMEONE who voted most of their hard-earned money just for the sake of keeping him in the competition just so he would outlast the more talented contestants, not realizing that in doing so, they would be doing that SOMEONE more harm than good.

I shall not give my comments on the Top 6 performances, and thus I shall go straight to the point...

The group whose journey ended tonight... Revalina. That gave me major heartache... but then again, it was kinda expected since their performances weren't so outstanding.

And the soloist who would be sent packing tonight... is NOT that certain someone mentioned earlier. Instead, it was the one whom I have no regrets supporting all along... the one I managed to take pic wif once more minutes before the shocking results... the only girl remaining in the competition for the past 3 weeks...

SHAUNA ALYSSA SIMON.

WHAT!!!! WHAT!!!! WHAT!!! Two major heartaches in one night... Ken Lim was right all along: money does make the world go really really wrong. I was so looking forward to a Shauna vs Fendi showdown at the finals, NOT Fendi vs a certain lamebrained goon who depended solely on his tone deaf supporters to save his life and ensure his survival. It could been equally shocking if Fendi were the one sent home instead. I'm totally cool with By Definition, but I dont really like Catsinecradle, nor do I like their fans. I hope that Fendi wins the solo category, and that his fans prevent the Ultimate Nightmare from happening. Having that someone in the finals is already horrifying enough to make me lose sleep...

After the show... I played around with the LTD poster at the reception for a while... with a few fans approving of my actions

And then later I took pics with Revalina once more, and soon afterwards I took picture with New Yi Qing while waiting for the bus (which we boarded together lah, duh). We got to watch an episode of "Metamorphosis" in the bus before Yi Qing dropped off. My heart may be down for now due to the very shocking results that took place, but I'll be alright pretty soon.

Shauna, I'm still very proud fof you for making it this far and inspiring me, even though you truly did not deserve to go. I want to say... I love you very much, Shauna. Don't give up on your dreams.

Fendi, I'm counting on you to win the competition! Do all of us proud! Fendi supporters, help us 'avenge' the other equally talented contestants who got booted out!!

And to that SOMEONE whose name I purposely refuse to mention here, you know who you are. I feel very ashamed for you, your family, your friends and your 'super-rich' supporters. I have TWO WORDS for you, and they are written in the photo above. I look forward to giving your supporters 'capital punishment' come the 24th of October...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO BRYAN CHNG AND KIN YEW

I was another tiring day at work yesterday with too many customers coming in during the peak hours, but at least it strengthened my resolve to face any challenge ahead (for now)... all I need to do is check my new school timetable and contemplate whether to continue working or focus on studies totally...
By the end of yesterday, I was relieved when I found out that I, along with 2 more colleagues, dont need to go for POS training on Wednesday afternoon... seems like the colleagues around my age group ( L, N, I and J) can catch up pretty fast with new cashiering system. I dont mind asking for a few practice sessions, but I'm not one to do that.
I'm off to watch Live the Dream now... it's the night of Dance Party Themes and tonight, the Final 4 for the Grand Finale on October 24th will be determined. All the best of luck to the Top 6, most particularly Shauna! ;-)

WWE RAW updates...
- On October 2nd, John Cena suffered a torn right tendon muscle following an assault by Randy Orton, and was hence stripped off the WWE Title after holding it for a rather agonizing 380 days. The website then announced that a new WWE Champion will still be determined at No Mercy 2007, and history will be made as well.
- Randy Orton, the No 1 contender who had been targeting Cena for months, was awarded the WWE Title, but before he could celebrate, he was told by William Regal that he had to defned it against anyone of his choice. A choice was already made when Triple H, an old enemy of Orton since the days of Evolution, showed and challenged Orton for a title shot. The Legend Killer's first reign as WWE Champ came to an end at only 22 minutes as The Game beat him to become 6th time WWE Champ!! Orton's first reign as WWE Champ was the third shortest title reign in WWE title history!
- BUT THAT'S NOT ALL... Triple H was ordered by Vince McMahon to defend his title against Umaga, and once more against Randy Orton in a Last Man Standing Match... HHH was greatly weakened after his match against the Samoan Bulldozer, and lost the match when he couldn't get up to the referee's 10-count... and history was made as Orton became a 2-time WWE champion in just one night. Triple H's reign as WWE Champ lasted for 2 hrs 20 minutes... the 4th shortest title reign in WWE title history!!
- And on October 9th, as Randy was holding his very own Appreciation Night, he called for Triple H to get into the ring, or else he would go to the backstage area to drag The Game out... just as he was about to make his way to the Titantron, another old enemy of his returned... SHAWN MICHAELS!!! And the Legend Killer got hit with Sweet Chin Music!!

Information on The Hulk

After physicist Dr. Robert Bruce Banner was caught in the blast of a gamma bomb explosion, he had the ability to transform into the Hulk, a raging monster, in times of stress and anger. The character, both as Banner and the Hulk, is frequently pursued by the police or the armed forces, often as a result of the destruction he causes.

The Hulk possesses the potential for near limitless levels of physical strength, depending directly on his emotional state, particularly his anger, spawning the famous quote: "The madder Hulk gets, the stronger Hulk becomes." He is also extremely resistant to physical damage, psychic assaults, temperature extremes, and is completely immune to disease and poisons. Strength

The Hulk possesses the potential for astounding levels of superhuman strength, directly depending on his emotional state, particularly his anger.

The Hulk has been shown capable of supporting, with the assistance of leverage, a falling 150 billion-ton mountain range, as well as holding together the continental plates of an entire planet to keep it from collapsing. The Hulk has also been shown shattering an asteroid twice the size of Earth with a single punch. There are examples of the Leader, and Doc Samson, attempting, unsuccessfully, to measure the limits of The Hulk's strength using the advanced technology at their disposal.

Durability
The Hulk is depicted with extremely high levels of superhuman stamina and resistance to physical injury. His muscles are resistant to fatigue poisons, which allows him to function at peak performance without tiring for extremely long periods. He's been shown enduring the impact of high-caliber artillery shells, falls from orbital heights, or extremely powerful energy blasts without sustaining injury, and resisting poisons and diseases with no ill effect. The Hulk is capable of withstanding a ground zero nuclear explosion, as well as the 1,000,000-degree Fahrenheit "nova-burst" of the Human Torch combined with a lightning strike by Storm.

The Hulk is extremely resistant to drugs, but they can affect him, however, his near-impenetrable skin makes gas a more reliable method of administering them. He can also be immobilized, put to sleep, reverted back into Banner (or other manifestations), or pacified, either by the use of magic, or specialized radiation. His powers have been shown and stated to increase after absorbing large amounts of radiation, or even direct nuclear attacks

Healing Factor

Despite his body's high resistance to damage, it is possible to injure The Hulk. He has been hurt numerous times by opponents wielding weapons composed of adamantium. However, he can regenerate damaged or destroyed tissue with far greater efficiency than an ordinary human. He has proven capable of regenerating his eyes, skin, and most of his muscle tissue, within moments of having it flayed from his body. His future "Maestro" incarnation proved capable of eventually reconstructing himself after being blown to powder. It has been stated that The Hulk's durability,stamina and the efficiency of his healing powers all fluctuate with his emotional state, much like his physical strength.

Speed
Marvel Comics executive editor Tom Brevoort has officially listed The Hulk as possessing superhuman speed comparable with Thor or Spider-Man.

Resistance to psionics
The Hulk has also demonstrated great resistance from psychic control such as assaults from Xemnu the Titan, Cable, and Professor X.

The Hulk debuts on Channel 5 tonight!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO JEFF WANG, BARBIE HSU, ALOYSIUS AND AIK LIN

The film version of one of Stan Lee's many famous Marvel creations "The Hulk", directed by Lee Ang (the guy who brought us "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" and "Brokeback Mountain"), will be shown on Channel 5 for the first time tonight at 1845 hrs... don't miss out on all the tank-smashing and road-bashing action! ;-)

I remembered watching this film with my brother 4 years ago... at first I thought the movie was ok, but then later, I felt it was mediocre in whole, compared to films like "Spider-Man" and "X-Men". While Eric Bana did quite well in portraying Bruce Banner, the scientist who bottled up his anger within him for too long due to his mutated genes passed on to him by his father David Banner, his alter-ego aka The Hulk didn't fare too well... many people complained that he looked too CGI and looked too Asian compared to the Hulk's standard look. Some even thought that a human actor should have been used for the Hulk, like what Lou Ferrigno did for the Hulk TV series in the 1980s. Still I can't help but wish that I had the same powers as the Hulk (who wouldn't?).. wanting to take out all the anger by destroying anything in his path, being able to de-stress himself, and wanting to be left in peace... I hope the upcoming film, "The Incredible Hulk" (with a new director, new cast list and new concept), will fare a lot better than the 2003 film.

Man, I can't take it already... yet I 'force' myself to agree on doing that.
Countless days of working long hours almost every day is starting to drive me insane... not to mention the few customers who 'try to be funny' with me (like a certain foreigner who tried to cheat her way into buying a free meal, and it's not even the first time she did that!!). If I'm not careful, I may soon end up like Yongjian or even Heixiong (though I know he's only pretending to go bonkers). How I wish I have the ability to release all my inner stress by turning into a green creature of mass proportions and healing factor. Only then can I feel free from anything that comes my way.
God I pray you give me the courage and wisdom to appraoch my boss about my decision to resign...

Unexpected twist to "Live The Dream"...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO DYLAN BAKER (Dr. Connors), WILLIAM CHIN AND HAZEL THEN

"WAH LAU EH". That's how I describe last Wed's "Live The Dream" recording for Cross Culture. Just when we were expecting the weakest singer to be booted out, Utt had to reveal the awful truth by announcing that NOBODY is going home tonight (yes, the horror of it all!!!). All too soon, we realised that the producers for LTD had pulled out a fast one on us by borrowing the idea of a non-elimination night from American Idol season 6 (Idol Give All), just because the whole show is dedicated to President's Star Charity... WTH!!!!

Well on a brighter note, the votes for the week will snowball into the votes for next week's round of "Dance Party Themes". Little surprise then that many people are complaining about this in the forums right now...

On an even brighter note, Andrea Fonseka, who looked damn cute wearing the spectacles of Revaline member Naza (aka the 'Small' of the trio), noticed me from the crowd prior to the results show and shook my hand... (blushes)

Former contestants such as Alan S, Robert Sunga and the Sugarettes were spotted among the fans... Daren and Diya wowed everyone with two songs, "In Love With You" (the 1994 classic sung by Jacky Cheung and Regine) and "Liang San Po he Zhu Li Ye". Boy was I surprised to see New Yi Qing inside the theater!! :-D

And err.... that 'Singapore Cowboy' really got some mental problem, being way too 'over' as he held up his SUPER-SIZED poster and rooted for Shauna like a football coach would yell at his team to work harder... I hope he doesn't show up for the next recording, cos if he does, then I will give him capital punishment right away...!

The lowdown on the Top 6 for the LTD competition...

Fendi

His first song, Liu Sha by David Tao, wasn't very good cos he sounded like he was mumbling, and it was the first time he had gone really flat. He was however, more comfortable wif the second song which he sang in English.

Victor

His English song, "Don't Cry", was to his regular standards as it had been for the past few weeks... his second song, a Korean one from the soundtrack of "My Sassy Girl", was more impressive, but too mellow to be true...

Shauna

She was the one who shone among the 3 soloists. While her family dressed up in kimonos for the 1st performance, the beautiful Shauna sang an almost pitch perfect Japanese song... then she melted everyone's hearts (mine included, heh) with Coco Lee's "Before I Fall In Love".

Revalina

The trio of 'small, medium and large' truly shone in both songs... they are being nicknamed "The Trio of Harry Potters" by Ken Lim, for they maintained their geeky image throughout the whole competition, and were being true to themselves. My pick to win the group category.

By Definition

The quintet band's entertainment value and showmanship was unmatched. While their rendition of JJ Lin's "Cao Cao" was thrilling to watch, their second song, "You'll Be Safe Here", was a bit of a letdown. Still, I'm rooting for them to advance to the finals.

Catsinecradle

'The Cats' sounded rather offbeat in the first song, and while they did better with Alex To's "Wu Xin Shang Hai" (baby I'm so sorry), Ken Lim thought that they sounded like they were singing at a restaurant. I don't want to see them at the finals due to their seemingly snobbish attitude and their super-rowdy fans.

After the show, the three of us (Kai Leng, Edmund and myself) headed to the reception to wait for anyone who came out... at around 2300 hrs, New Yi Qing came out. Turns out he's working there part-time to get more money, while also tackling with studies. It was great to see him again :-)

After that, Revalina came out... I got to take picture with Naza "Harry Potter", Ross "Spider-Man" and Az "Optimus Prime".

By chance, Kai Leng and i spotted Ann Kok coming out of the reception... she just finished another busy day filming for "Kinship part 2". Altho 'Yinsha' still looked attractive as always, I honestly prefer her long hair... the 'helmet' hairdo doesn't really suit her. Well at least Im happy to haf taken pic wif her... something to would make my old friend Jason Tan rather envious... nah, just kidding!! :-)

As the show came to a close, we shouted our voices hoarse for various artistes... names like "Jonathan!!', "Taufik!!", "Hady!!", "Olinda!!", "Daren!!", "Nat!!", "Shauna!!" and many others. Then me, Eric and Terence headed to Radiogate to wait for any artiste who came out from there. And NO, Venom did not follow me to Mediacorp in his 'full-form' cos I didnt want him to 'make a scene' in front of the VIPS and the President. I managed to 'imprison' him in the 'Venom-capsule racer', just so he can watch the show and not break out from the 'prison'.

2210- 2230 hrs: First to come out was Michelle Chong... I managed to get her autograph on a magazine I brought along (the one wif Andrea Fonseka on cover), but I couldnt get to taks pic wif her cos my camera had some flashlight focus problems (the same problem persisted later)... looks like I better send it for servicing when I haf the time. After that, I took pic wif Adam Chen (last seen as Ke Mingde in "Metamorphosis") as well as Ben Yeo (wif that 'auntie' hairdo of his, haha!). After that, me and my friends went to the reception.

2235 hrs: As I was heading upstairs for the 2nd level, Phiz happened to be passing by. I talked wif him for a short while before proceeding to the reception. As Eric, Terence and I was heading for the door, I couldnt help but wonder if it was right of me to head for the reception so quickly (and miss the chance to see Jon and Nat once more)... but as u know, no one can be at two places at the same time (unless you haf the ability to duplicate youself like Multiple Man).

2250-2255 hrs: Quite a lot VIPs came out. Joakim was the first to be spotted... I got to take pic wif him of course. Aliff Aziz, the Anugerah 2007 winner (who is only 16) came out as well... after much consideration, I decided to take pic wif him too. No sign of Paul... I think he had already left before that.

Update as of 2024: who wouldve thought that Aliff would turn into a serial cheater and gaslit his wife into staying rather than divorcing him... I should never have taken photo with him had I gained the ability yo see the future. But since I took photo with ex-convicts and transexuals, I shall keep this photo as a memoir instead of deleting it.

2255-2300 hrs- Jessica Tan, Miss Singapore universe 07 winner, came out. i immediately took out the FHM Oct 2007 issue, rushed to the mei nu and asked for her autograph. And yes, I controlled my nosebleed all this while (I tell u, it was not an easy thing to do). Soon after, Vas and Pris came out, and yep I got their autographs too. Main objective no 1 accomplished!

2300- 2305 hrs- members of Platinum, Breakforce Crew and more VIPs came out. I managed to take pic wif Kay (my personal fave!), Aishah, Clare and Shu Lin. Couldnt take pic wif Andrea cos she had already headed for the taxi. Marianne was not involved due to her profession as a lawyer. Main objective no 2 accomplished!

2220 hrs- Evelyn from E-Squared came out. She sure looks adorable, my knees got a little weakened there. Main objective no 3 accomplished! Kai Leng and Ryan came at around this time, telling me that I had missed out on quite a lot: after Adam and Ben, came many others like Kym, Nat, Diya, Jonathan and even Elvin (I think he finished Kinship 2 filming rather lat). Jade and Olinda zoomed off very quickly, so there was no way anyone could haf stopped them. Upon hearing this, Eric aka Mr EYgot rather sad (understandable), and decided to leave the place soon after. Dont worry, Eric... there's always a next time to see Jade, ya? :-)

2225- 2235 hrs- Finally, the LTD contestants came out. I finally got to talk to Shauna, as well as get her autograph. Main objective no 4 accomplished!! Fendi was a little exhasuted, so I chose not to disturb him. As for Victor, very few people appraoched him... and from what I heard, his side still got a lot of spare tickets for the upcoming performance show! Goes to show how unpopular he is becoming right now...

2245 hrs- Me and Terence headed home by bus, but not before chatting with Edmund and another friend. We managed to catch the last few buses,,, and no need to take taxi!! Wahahaha... :-D

What a rush... me and Mr EY reached Mediacorp before 6 on Sunday, but not before I finished work a little later than 5 pm. Then my other friend Mr TT arrived at around 1825 hrs. Of course all the fans were seated at the balcony as is the case for all other charity shows, but there were actually a lot of empty seats at the sides. Still, it was great to see the HapyHadys, the Fiknatics (Source as one of them), the Jonatics, Nat Ho fans, Dance Floor fans, Revalina fans and many others.

Scene Background: This takes place during Troy and Gabriella’s audition. The two were sabotaged and almost missed the important audition. However, with the help of their friends, they made it in time and finally display their singing talent to the entire school.
