8 days 1000th issue celebration at Iluma

December 12th
Right after the SI Top 2 roadshow at Jurong Point ended, Naomi and myself took train to Iluma. Missed out on Ann Kok who was there at 3 pm, but that didnt matter. Christy Yow got on stage a few minutes after 4 pm and talked about the movie she appearas in, "Chinese Rose". Some of us then queued up to take picture with Christy at the Canon photo booth. I nearly fainted upon close contact with that despicable Lei Jun (known for his horrendous BO)... once a skunk, always a skunk, what more can I say?

Andie came at 5 plus and talked about his role reprisal as Tony Lee in the upcoming "Fighting Spiders Season 2", then went to the 8 days covers exhibit section to pose for a few photos. I stayed around a bit longer to look through the various covers, and then went off to Shaw Towers to have quick dinner. I nearly went berserk after a short dialogue with Mr K (forever wearing bermudas and slippers!! Pls stop it already!!!), on my way to bus stop. The more he talks, the more I feel like giving him a Spear. I didn't even wanna hear his story on his most recent conflict with whichever fanclub... this is precisely why I don't ever join local singers' fanclubs, not even Rachel Leong (geddit!!).

December 13th
I went to church in the morning, did brilliance control duty (aka brightness and contrast adjustment for side cameras) for morning service. After that, I had lunch with Mother and Brother at Hk Cafe, then headed off to Iluma by bus... reached Bugis at 12.30 pm.

There were quite a lot of fans present at Iluma, majority of them were fans of Sezairi and Sylvia, with about 8 NATural fans seated in the middle (most of them went up on stage later). The artistes on stage from 2 to 3 plus were the Polo Boys (Nat, Kiwi and Julian Low), the ladies from the upcoming drama "The Pupil" (Rebecca Lim, Janice Koh and Elfaeza Ul Haq), and last but not least, the Singapore Idol season 3 finalists (Sezairi and Sylvia). The 1000th cover of 8 days was unveiled and it featured Cherie Lim, Zoe Tay and Joanne Peh (as well as an animated version of Angelina Jolie) dressed in specially esigned dresses bearing all previous 8 days covers).

By 3 plus, the SI fans had dispersed and left Iluma, taking over front row position were the Felicity fans as well as the Jollity fans. Urghhh, it's that guy in bermudas and slippers again... 3rd time I had seen him in a row!! Also, Mr Hao Lian (the guy in formal clothes) and his stuttering younger brother were present. Suhaimi got on stage before 4 pm and promoted the upcoming okto show "Those Were The Days". He then conducted a few kampung-themed games with a few fans as players, including "Jacky Cheung" who so happened to be at the front row (kena chosen, no self-volunteered)... he didnt win the rubber band knotting round, but at least he didnt go loony, like the other time at Chinatown Point.

5 pm... Felicia finally came!! She looked really sweet and beautiful in black dress, but she wasn't feeling well... her voice sounded kinda raspy and for an instance, I thought she sounded like Sylvia Ratonel, hee hee!! The onstage game was for 3 fans to pose like Felicia as seen on one of the pages seen in Issue 984... the fans were a plump guy in Japan-themed shirt who seemed to have a big ego, a young lady with good figure in white top and a weird middle aged lady who likes to snoop into other people's bags. Fel left the place at around 4.20 pm, surrounded by lots of security guards. One of the security guards pushed me so hard, he nearly bruised my face. When Mr Hao Lian saw the card that I made for Felicia, he tried to start a conversation with me, I simply told him to "talk to the hand".

I took taxi to Radiogate alongside Eric, and Felicia came out at 6.05 pm. Abt 20 of us fansqueued up to get autographs as well as take pic with the beautiful Miss Chin. Mission accomplished!! After having dinner at Great World City (Eric needed me to accompany him back to his workplace, so I obliged) I went back home feeling very happy. But deep down, I am actually not pleased with a few guys (Mr S and Mr F) who chose not to go for the event. I am also very pissed with those 2 idiots Melvin and Paul who keep taking too many solo pics of Fel... when will they ever stop!!! They seriously need some Attitudde Adjustment.

Xmas event at City Square, SI 3 roadshow at Jurong Point

Friday, 11th December
Another busy day at work from 9 to 6, as always. After knocking off, I headed down to City Square (Farrer Park region) and joined Jolliteers pus NATurals to await start of programme. Turns out that both Nat and Joanne were already present way before I arrived. They got on stage and talked a bit about what they've been up to, then they sang Christmas songs. Jopeh sang "Last Christmas" (one of the song sung during Xmas gathering at Leisure Park last year), and Nat sang "The Christmas Song" (the one that starts off with "chestnuts roasted on an open fire"). They then headed to the pumpkin-shaped chariot to light up a huge Christmas Tree via foot pedals (think Prince Charming and Cinderella). The 2 left a few minutes before 8. Some of the fans headed down to carpark, while I chose to head back home to recuperate. The train ride wasn't very pleasant, I had to endure a few rantings from Mr K regarding a certain conflict which I don't even wanna know about.

Saturday, 13th Dec (12 to 3 pm)
Slacked at home for most of the day. Left the house at 11 and reached Jurong Point at abt 12.30 pm following a rather long train ride. Had quick lunch at Mos Burger with Naomi, then we headed back to the SI stage region. Think the turnout was quite similar to the one at Together roadshow last week. Man, the roadshow started damn late at 2.15 pm, caused most of us to get sprained ankles as well as 'pins-n-needles'. Sezairi and Sylvia got on stage, sang a few songs and gave away tickets for the Countdown at Marine Bay as well as mosh pit tickets to the Grand Finals on December 27th. S n S then stayed around for abt 20 minutes to sign autographs for fans at barricade region, they left at about 3.05 pm. Naomi and I then took train from Boon Lay down to Bugis for next event. Continued in Part 2...

Events I had gone for between Sat to Mon

Happy Birthday to Audrey H and Elaine G

My apologies for the slight delay, I've been really, really busy going for various functions for the past few days, til i come back home with a lot of energy to upload pictures on Facebook, but very little motivation to update my blog. I mean come on, if I had 'as much energy and stamina' as that attention seeker Mr Koh Tze Seng, I would have jolly well sacrificed my bedtime every night just to upload as many as 100 nonsensical blog entries for this month alone!! Anyway, this was what I did for the past 3 days...

Saturday, 19th September
Happy Birthday to Ross, Kah Yin and Farah

Went to work as usual in the afternoon, serving customers of various walks of life. After leaving the place upon lockdown, I took taxi to Bishan Park 2 to attend Jesseca Liu gathering (for fans and assorted supporters) at the Acacia restaurant located there. Jess arrived a little late at 7 pm, but that's totally alright with us. Got about 26 fans present, committee included. We all had 3-course meal of mushroom soup, main course and dessert (which we finished very fast to get on with next segment). We all took pic with Jess (some of us 3 times), we all got her autographs, and some gave her gifts as well. Although the gathering was scheduled to end at 8, it overran for more than an hour. After some of us saw Jess off via taxi, we went separate ways. Many thanks to Karyan and Michelle for making this gathering a success!! ;-)

Sunday, 20th September
Happy Birthday to Mr Timothy Leong and Tracy Tan
Selamat Hari Raya Puasa

Although I was supposed to do projection duty during morning service in church, the AV staff arranged for me to do the inside work while a newer personnel did the camera manning in my place, just so I would get a better understanding on the 'behind the scenes' work from inside the AV booth. After that, I took direct bus to Suntec Convention. Shuffled the next 6 plus hours between Travel Fiesta at Hall 603 and Games Convention at Level 4.

1200-1240 hrs: joined Naturals to watch Nat Ho perform on stage in Hall 603. Managed to take group photo with him, as well as get autograph from him.
1240-1345 hrs: had quick lunch at World Food Fair with Naturals.
1345-1400 hrs: took pictures of some Cosplay characters lingering outside Hall 401. Some of the female characters looked really hawt.
1400-1500 hrs: headed back to Hall 603 to see Huang Wenyong sing 4 old Chinese songs. Something very funny happened during the segment... an old guy suddenly got off his seat and started dancing to ALL the songs!! :-p Oh, and I did see the stupid giant Melvin and the vulgar dwarf Paul. The Jess Liu fans arrived at around this time.
1500-1545 hrs: some slim and attractive (but very chatty!!) part-time DJ named Huifang took over hosting role and brought in Jesseca Liu, who sang a Chinese song and a Teochew song. Got huge queue as expected, and among the queue were the Weirdo Brothers, Mr Hao Lian (in blue attire!!) and his retarded brother Mr Gwai Lan.
1545-1730 hrs: finally went into Hall 401 for Games Convention Asia 2009. Got characters like Predator, Xenomorph Alien, Wolverine (same guy I saw during Toys and Games Convention in mid August), and even Iron Man (portrayed by some well-known Cosplay veteran named Reno Tan). Fewer familiar faces this time round. I know I missed out on Bryan Wong and Michelle Chong at Travel Fiesta during this time, but it's ok... I wasn't a big fan of these two anyway.
1720-1800 hrs: went down to Level 3 to take picture of variious Cosplay characters posing for shutterbugs (unsurprisngly, 90% of them are guys, hee!!). The busty babe in red dress and the cutie pie in blue mini-skirt were most steamy xiah...
1800-1840 hrs: rushed back up to Hall 603 to catch Zhang Yaodong singing a David Tao song as well as a Cantonese song. He sabo'ed Huifang and a middle-aged lady from the audience to sing 'Liang Zhi Lao Hu". Being one of the first few to form the queue, I manged to take picture with Yaodong again as well as get his autograph.
1840-1930 hrs: spent a bit more time lingering with Cosplay characters with a few guy friends, namely TH, KC and SH (all dressed in red coincidentally). Nearly wanted to slash KC for going out in slippers and still mispronouncing my name yet again (he's gonna be in big trouble if he were to wear like that to St James Power Station come October 6th, seriously!!). I left Suntec soon after, had dinner at Raffles City, and headed back home via train and bus... reached home by 9 pm.

Happy Birthday to Yumi

Work as usual from 10 am to 5 pm. I went down to Tiong Bahru marketplace to buy packets of chicken rice for my colleagues, then took turns to take lunch break. Right after closing, I headed down to Tiong Bahru Plaza to have early dinner, then took train to Expo Hall to see SIN (Super Import Nights). Although the admission fee for thie event was quite a bomb (10 bucks mind you!!), the time spent ogling at the local and foreign babes was definitely worth it. Seeing the bikini-clad babes and saantily-dressed imports from Taiwan, Thailand and USA nearly errmmm, 'burnt a hole in my pants', WHOOPS!!! Ended the day by taking group photo with fellow 'perverts' Terence and Shanwei... took train to Eunos and then bus back home by 10.45 pm. :-)

Times of great joy and happiness during the weekend

Happy Birthday to Dennis Chew aka "Aunty Lucy"!!

I had a swell of a time during the weekend... this was what I did. :-)

Saturday (yesterday)
After knocking off from work at 1 plus, I went to Suntec Convention to attend the 2009 SGTCC (Singapore Games, Toys and Comics Convention) located at Halls 402 to 403. There was a lot of focus on GI Joe as well as Transformers, I also saw toys linked to Star Wars and Japan anime characters. Cosplay characters included a Bumbleb
ee babe, another Ghostbuster babe, Batman (the infamous Joel Schumacher edition), The Joker from "The Dark Knight", Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn (so fat one xiah), Wolverine, Master Chief from Halo video game, Predators, Nuata from "Hellboy 2", Star Trek team, Alice in Wonderland, plenty of Stormtroopers, Imperial Officer Babe, Freddy Kreuger babe, Boba Fett, Obi-Wan & Darth Maul V2, Mario & Luigi, even Blinky the Pacman Ghost?? In the Group category, it was the Jedi-vs-Sith pair that came up tops. For Singles Category, 3rd place went to Bill the Colonel, 2nd place went to the Halo soldier, and 1st place went to ermmm... Blinky from Pacman?? WTH... the win is as controversial as the results for Campus Superstar 3, enough said. After staying on til 6 plus, me and Shan went to have dinner at the kopi tiam near Bras Basah Complex, then went to Iluma for a while, before heading back home.

Sunday (today)
After going for church service in the morning (it was Missions week), I took train to Lavender region to meet up with the other Naturals. The 26 of us boarded a coa
ch to the secret place...

Lo and behold, the venue for the birthday party is at the SINGAPORE FLYER!!! :-O

We celebrated Nat's birthday in advance, got into a singing frenzy that went awry, cut out paper dolls and went into the Flyer with him in 2 groups (it was the very first time experience on the Flyer for many of us). At one point of time before we took turns to board the Flyer, Nat was so touched by the present given to him by the committee, he actually broke down, and some of us fans (myself included) found ourselves getting teary-eyed as well. Event started at 1 plus and ended a few minutes after 6. It was truly a great way to spend the weekend, many thanks to the Nat fc committee for making this gathering a special one.

Surprises, daredevil stunts and contortions

Happy Birthday to Jiwei and James

Yesterday was a day full of surprises and impossibilities made possible.

0900-1020 hrs: Mum, Bro and I went to church for morning service, the Word was on Jesus healing the man with the shriveled hand on the Sabbath according to the Gospel of Mark, as well as the tension between Jesus and the Pharisees. The closing hymn after that was a very strange choice cos it was used mostly for opening song (it's the upbeat song titled "Jesus We Celebrate Your Victory").

1030-1240 hrs: We took bus to Suntec City, my eyes nearly bled upon seeing a young girl in super shorts. We went to have lunch at food court, then went a bit of shopping. Shortly after, I decided to go solo. I went around Toys R Us for a few minutes, then left Suntec.

1245 hrs:
Seeing that my water bottle was empty, I decided to go to National Library (aka my former workplace) to refill it. And boy was I lucky... after refilling my bottle, I was about to head to the escalator when someone in yellow shirt saw me and said, “Hey, Tanat!! Nice to see you!!” I turned around and...

OH MY GOD, IT’S NAT HO!!! :-O Turns out he went there to return some books and was on his way to Raffles Hotel, whereas I told him that I was on my way to Bras Basah Complex to surf Internet. After Nat left, I quickly sent mass SMSes to inform as many people as I could on the amazing encounter. :-D

1300-1630 hrs: Ok, so I surfed the Net for a while and went to the gym for a while... then I went to Plaza Singapura to meet up with the Naturals (about 8 to 10 in total), telling them more on the incident at NLB. And yep, I did renew my membership with Nat fanclub. While most of the Naturals headed to ground level of PS, I took a train to Central.

1645-1750 hrs: Upon reaching Central, I could only begin to worry bout the upcoming Inversion stunt that Magic Babe Ning is about to perform. Lo and behold, I saw those 2 weirdos (let’s name them Mr Cyan and Mr Red)... the sucka in red tee still behaving like a court jester and tucking his shirt all the way in!! Hello, this is Singapore, not China!!! As for the simpleton in cyan, he can’t seem to stop biting his fingernails, and his face still looks like a potato... oh ya, he does look a lot like William Hung!!!

1750-1830 hrs: JC and Ning graced the stage and did a bit of quiz time with fans. I located myself at the 2nd level to get a good view of the performance. My heart was beating very quickly the moment Ning was suspended upside down on the trapeze bar... and with a bed of spikes directly below her pretty face!! She had to free herself from the strait jacket while blindfolded and refrain from making any unnecessary movement from her legs (with ankle braces secured to her feet and hooked to the bar). Within 90 seconds, she successfully freed herself, and everyone cheered loudly!! Following that, was a series of interviews with Razor TV, Channel News Asia, and Channel 8. Ning had truly done us proud by being the first and only magician in Southeast Asia to successfully attempt the Inversion Act blindfolded.

1840-1900 hrs: Time for autograph-cum-photo taking session. Mr Cyan and Mr Red continued with their super weird tactics... it’s ok if they give the Magic duo drinks and cards, but the very sight of them in such weird and aggressive fashion gave me goosebumps. In fact, Mr Red who was standing right in front of me stinked really badly, I think his bag is about a decade old xiah!!! Soon after them, it was my turn to get their autographs and take picture with the Magic Duo of course. Then I went upstairs to stay away from the weird duo, at the same time seeing TH and KC mingle around with the Magic duo as well as Ning’s family for a little while. I personally thought that Ning’s younger sisters were very sweet and pretty too, heh. :-p

1910-2010 hrs: The Arena team left the place at abt 7 pm, as did the good pair (Ted and Ken) and the bad pair (Mr Cyan and Mr Red). The next segment that took place was a Contortonist act, involving 2 Monoglian beauties (in late teens I believe) and 2 Chinese babes (12 to 14 years I think). The Mongolian babes specialized in rhythmic dance, whereas the 2 Chinese gals in steamy hot yellow suits did a series of impossible contortions (ouch!!). It was mightily frightening to watch, but entertaining nonetheless.

2010-2355 hrs: Had quick dinner and then took train back home... upon reaching home at 9, I used Net til 11 plus, and headed to bed before 12 midnight.

Big Idea day 1

Long queue for ceratin sections of the Big Idea region. It was 1.45 pm at the time I reached Plaza Singapura after knocking off from work.

Event hosted by a deejay named Young. Last seen hosting Media Fiesta in early March.

Fans playing some puzzle re-arrangement game.

Channel 8 artistes grace the stage for first segment... Darren Lim, Ong Ai Leng and EELYN!!! They later went to the Scan n Win Booth to mingle with the people there. Oh ya, I got sabo'ed on stage by Young and ended up co-winner of the Lucky 7 game with Naomi!! :-D

Cast of "Red Thread"... Adrian and Aileen. By the end of Thursday's episode, we now know that Alex Sung is the elder son of Kong Wah and Suzanne. I felt it would have been better if least 2 more cast members could come, like Celest, Julian or Tracy.

Cast of Fighting Spiders... 7 of them!! Edwin (Lee Soon Lee), Shijie (Charlie Leong), Frederick (Peter Livingston), Janice (Mabel Lee), Bobby Tonelli (David Livingston), Kimberly (Yi Ling) and Sonnia (Samantha).

Cast of Polo Boys... Adrian and Nat, who play father and son.

Cast of "Sayang Sayang", Michelle Chong and John Lee (younger brother of Dick Lee).

Game time... the "Fighting Spiders" team versus the "Red Polo Sayang" team. The bigger team won obviously.

Yep, this was how Nat recated when he saw me among the crowd... cute right? :-p

Tha tall and dashing Bobby posing for fans. Some of you might remember him as Paul Robertson, the European lawyer who married Yueniang in "The Little Nyonya". Just don't ask him about that rumor started by Wan Bao...

That very tall and lean guy is my army friend Lee Xuncheng, he was a security guard for the event!! I found it rather ironic cos years ago during NS, I joked with my bunkmates that XC could become a security guard due to his height and no-nonsense persona... never thought that it would turn out to be real!! :-D

The cast of Fighting Spiders taking pics with lots of fans

Hurray, I managed to take pic with Bobby! :-)
