Countdown 2008 part 1: the full details

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!

I'm back from a very crazy countdown... went to bed at 2.45 am and woke up at 9.45 am, still as fresh as spring :-)

Hmmm where should I start off... oh ya, I worked from 1100 to 1740 hrs yesterday, after which I headed to Harborfront station and reached there at 1815 hrs. I met up wif Ishardi, Edmund, Terence and Eric... being the 'unofficial ticket master' for the night, I passed the mosh pit tickets to the four guys and then passed to Farhan the tickets he requested for his friend. Later i handed the seating tix over to Karlyn, Pamela and their friend. The 5 of us then went to Kopitiam to have dinner (Western food, wahaha!), and then we headed straight for the amphitheater.

And what is it that the ticket stated? 'No photography or video recording allowed'? YEAH RIGHT!! EVERYONE IS ALLOWED TO TAKE PICS OR RECORD VIDEOS!!! About time to amend the rules on the tickets...!

1930 hrs- reaching the amphitheater... we were told that there will be a couple of performances between 8 to 11 pm.
1940 hrs- Gurmit, Mich Chia, Elvin Ng, Michelle Chong, Ng Hui and Darren Lim arrived at the mosh pit area and stood in front of us fans. Seems like they were involved in some pre-recorded segment that is to be shown on the Ch 5 news.
2000 to 2015 hrs- Sugarettes
2015 to 2025 hrs- Robert Sunga
2025 to 2040 hrs- After The Rain
2100- 2205 hrs- the LTD showcase for Fendi and By Definition!! Once again i say thank goodness they won, otherwise the night would be either too disastrous (Victor) or too mediocre (CatsInECradle), or even both!! Speaking abt which, the 'losers' weren't even present!!
2205 to 2220 hrs- Revelina
2220 to 2235 hrs- Shauna Simon!!

2300 hrs- Countdown party goes live!!! Gurmit started off the night by singing "Let's Dance", with only 10 DOND gals dancing about. Adlina, Christabel, Gayle, Elynn and Rachel were there... but no Claire or Gwendoylyn!! Haiz :-/

2305 hrs- Elvin Ng, Darren Lim, Michelle Chong and Ng Hui sang "Wo Yao Ni De Ai"

2320 hrs- The Sugarettes singing Gwen Stefani's "Sweet Escape"

2325 hrs- Robert Sunga and Shauna Simon sang a duet "Hate That I Love You So"

2335 hrs- Fendi singing Justin Timberlake's "LoveStoned"

2340 hrs- Daren Tan singing a Chinese song... his debut album will be out in 3 weeks time!! WOO HOO!!!

2345 hrs- Nat Ho, Jade Seah and Joakim Gomez singing "Give It To Me"

2350 hrs- By Definition rock the stage with "What I've Done" and "Bleed It Out"
0000 hrs- HELLO 2007!!! AULD LANG SYNE!!!

0005 hrs- Taufik kicked off the new year with "MYBG"

0015 hrs- Revelina singing Backstreet Boys' "Inconsolable"

0020 hrs- After The Rain performing "Built To Last"
0025 hrs- grand finale by Gurmit, Taufik, Fendi and By Definition

After the show ended, most of us gathered to the region near the tents and waited for any artiste to come out. True enough, Elvin, Nat and Daren got out first. Followed by Gurmit as well as some dancers and the DOND gals. The four of us guys yelled out for New Yiqing, but he was kinda busy to take pic wif us. After which the members of By Def came out... then me, Ishardi, Edmund and Terence took pic wif Shauna, Fendi and Ash. We then left the place at 0110 hrs, whereas Eric sudenly disappeared. I guess he went to Food Republic to 'drown out his sorrows' over not being able to see Jade, knowing how 'emo' he can get at times (other than being a little weird). Nevertheless, the four of us managed to catch the last train and got off at our respective stops. I reached home at 0210 hrs, heading off for 7 hours of undisturbed sleep.
