Another boring day in school as usual yesterday... Portfolio and Project, Mr Mansor's lesson and Advanced 3D, from 0930 hrs to 1800 hrs. After dismissal at 1740 hrs, I took a cab to AMK Hub, and boy the taxi fare was damn ex, thanks not to ERP!! Anyway, I went to haf a quick dinner at Subway at the Hub, then I took a bus to good ol' Mediacorp...

to watch "Live The Dream" finals of course!! :-)

Once there, I spotted Shauna's lovely twin sisters, and a few friends (from the Singapore Idol roadshows) whom I had not seen for some time. I shant comment on the performances, for they are being reviewed in the main website. I thought the male guest judge (some composer for 881) was really hilarious with his Singlish comments on Dr Doom's super-cheena performance. And the 2nd guest judge, local songbird Corrine May, looked really cute! All the young gals screamed the moment Click Five came out... Taufik entertained the crowd wif his rapping and his slick dance moves, and the Papaya Sisters looked real cute + hot in silver dresses. :-)

Results time at 2245 hrs... the moment of truth!! Thank goodness Dr Doom v2 did not win!! I was raising my fists wif joy like Triple H after Fendi was announced the winner... and yes, By Definition truly deserved the win... overall, it was a good (but not so perfect) end to the show that had been riddled wif controversy... BUT I want to make one very clear request : MEDIACORP BETTER NOT BRING "LIVE THE DREAM" BACK FOR A SECOND SEASON!!!

Anyway after the show, I got out and made more cool moments wif the LTD poster, as well as wif the banner made by the fans of By Definition. 3 Star Search finalists came out at around 2325 hrs... they were Celia Pan, Andie Chen and Desmond Tan. They are among the Final 6, and the finals are just around the corner. I thought Celia looked quite hot. At ard 2345 hrs, I decided to head back home along wif Terence... but little would I know that abt half an hour after we had left, THE FINALISTS FOR "LIVE THE DREAM" ALL CAME OUT!!! DAMN!!!! XUETE!!! NOOOOOO....!!! There goes my chance to take pic wif Fendi, Shauna, Olynn and many others... if only I had the ability to foretell the future :-(

LTD finals cometh! And the PINK issue

Oh I pray that Doctor Doom version 2 does not win...! If I haf to be honest abt one thing, Shauna's elimination 2 weeks ago gave me one more (very) good reason to despise Dr Doom v2. And Fendi aka Shrek should win this really!! And I'm rooting for the 5-men rock band By Definition to win the $60K for the group category. Guest appearances by the Click Five, the Papaya Sisters from "881" and the first Singapore Idol Taufik Batisah.

Anyway, time to focus on other stuff not related to the Doomsday Showdown that is to come in a few hours time. The new 8 days issue is quite a knockout... in fact, I nearly got nosebleed the moment I flipped to the first page!! The main focus is on the color pink (NOT the gay issue linked to Penal Code 337A), and the cover girl in pink is one of the princesses. Nope, it's not the Hello Kitty fanatic Dawn Yeoh, nor is it the birthday girl, the Mermaid Felicia Chin (one of a few gals who can truly weaken me all over). It's one of the Best Actress nominees... the spokesperson for Marigold Peel Fresh and Lumix digicam... one of the princesses... Jesseca Liu!!

Wahaha, I had no idea that Venom is extremely weak against the color pink!! The super-revealing two-page shot proved too much for Eddie to handle... by the time he was done reading it, his head popped out much to my surprise!! Oh dear, better rush the poor fella to the nearest medical facility... :-p

The start of the Scorpio star!

Now then someone decided to come back to school huh, after one week of MIA. Damnit, I still hope she gets taught a lesson.
Attendance is rather crappy as usual, with the usual suspects coming super late, but of course I shall not dwell on that. And life in school is definitely boring without James, Xiaowei and Shuen Hua around. Thank goodness then that I finished up the 3D assignment rather quickly, and so I'm off to Defu Lane.

After a rather difficult journey from Bedok to Hougang Ave 3, I managed to reach Defu region at 1815 hrs, and l reached Hong San Temple without any difficulty, thanks to the banners being hung on the lampposts (boy, the tent was HUGE!!!). When I got there, I saw Kai Leng, Ryan, Rina, Karen and 2 more fans... not to forget Liu Lingling and Nat Ho! Turns out that Lingling, known as the Queen of Getai due to her 20+ yrs of getai, is hosting a huge getai event there, along wif Zhang Yaonan aka Ah Nan. Nat went back to Mediacorp to collect some stuff, so the event started only at 2000 hrs, after Nat had returned. I managed to take pic wif the super-friendly and humorous Lingling before the show began. Take note that this is the first getai event I haf attended after many years... and you're reading this from someone who doesn't really attend getai shows due to the loud sound system and also due to religious reasons. The event was as follows...

2000 hrs- the band playing tunes to Mission Impossible and a Hawaiian theme...
2005 hrs- a flamboyant male singer came up to sing 3 songs... his attire looked really interesting... he looked so decent from front view, but my eyes ROLLED wif disbelief upon noticing that his back view was BARE all the way!! Much to my dissapointment, he didnt strip at all. Still, I was even more amazed by his vocal control when he took on the roles of male AND female singer for a love duet! @_@
2020 hrs- the emcees Liu Lingling and Ah Nan got on stage and got the people tickled with their super-hilarious jokes.
2035 hrs- a female singer singing 3 songs.
2050 hrs- another male singer (winner of solo category for "Top Fun") came up on stage and sang 3 songs... the first one super-techno xiah!! The last song was an Andy Lau hit I think... "gei wo yi bei wan qing sui"
2105 hrs- Finally, the moment had come... Nat got on stage to talk about the upcoming "Mission" he and Lingling would be doing next month...
2110 hrs- Lingling and Nat sang "Yi Ren Yi Ban", one of the songs featured in the movie "881".
2115 hrs- Nat did an amazing dance to Show Luo's "Jing Wu Men", wif Lingling joining in the fun.

2120 hrs- a group of MPs got on stage to commence on the opening of the event, and then goes the "YAAAAAAAAM...SENG!!!". It was around this time that me and the fans chatted with Nat and took pics wif him.
2125 hrs- a very young getai singer got on stage to sing 2 songs... for a girl who's abt 14 yrs old, her voice is really powerful!! Her green dress and innocence kinda activated the Venom within me...
2145 hrs- Lingling took off her orange top and did a belly dance!! I was close to puking... @_@
2150 hrs- a voluptous babe from China got on stage... she looked SMOKING HOT in that red dress!! Now I am really on the verge of turning into Venom!! :-D
2200 hrs- I decided to leave the place, but not before snapping a few more pics...

I am still peeved over the fact that the SMS vote powerhouse, whose name many of you should know, is going to the finals; in fact, my sore throat had gotten a lot worse in the days after the shocking results. Come October 24th, I would rather get a heart attack at the comfort of my own home than in the Mediacorp theater, in case that SOMEONE really wins the 40K (oh I pray the nightmare does not happen at all...). Then again, I cant go watch the finals cos school ends at 6 pm. BUT I am most probably going to the reception just to wait for the contestants...

Hectic new school term + free time on Tuesday

Wah kau, new school term very jialatt... not only does school end super late from Monday to Thursday at 6 pm... the new lessons involve a lot of brainstorming and compilations for the assignments to be done in the next 7 weeks or so. Aha, now this is the opening I need... I gotta submit the resignation form at once!! After many weeks, no MONTHS, of self-reflecting, I feel it is time to do what's right, so it will indeed be sayonara to my current job... FOR GOOD!!!!

While browsing thru the new 8 days issue, I spotted a familiar face among the Fashion pages... it's Nathaniel Ho!! He sure looks cute and shuai in the pics... he's been picked as the spokesperson for Crocodile Menswear for the younger generation. And he'll be involved in the Cancer Charity show (his 4th one) come 28th October...

Today was an off-day due to a certain IBM function for all staff as well as off-in-lieu for Hari Raya Puasa. But I didnt use the computer in the morning due to a temporary power shutdown from 10 am to 12 pm... so I decided to go watch a movie at Vivo City... the comedy named "Balls of Fury". It is about a former table tennis phenomenon named Randy Daytona who was assigned by an FBI agent to participate in an international table tennis competition so he can bust a huge crime syndicate led by Master Feng, the triad leader who killed his father after his loss at the table tennis semi-finals of the 1988 Olympics. Christopher Walken was hilarious as the cross-dressing Master Feng, Maggie Q was smoking hot as Maggie Wong (to think she would kiss a fat yet kind-hearted slob), Jason Scott Lee was hilarious as the nose-blowing ruffian wif the beard and messy hair. I rate the film 3.5 stars out of 5...

After that, I went to look around the multimedia shop to check out the Game Boy products there... and later went to Toys R Us for a while. Then I went to Serangoon Central to haf a haircut at good ol Uncle Zali's new shop... and head to Heartland Mall to buy a few plastic model kits (linked to the new sentai series "Gekiranger"). Back home after watching "Superman Returns" on HBO and a long Internet session, it's lights out at 12 midnight.

High-Definition Launch @ Suntec Convention

Right after the usual Sunday service, I took the MRT to City Hall and reached the Suntec Convention Hall at around 1130 hrs... The HD Plasma TVs looked way too cool. I dared not ask the babes at some of the sectors for a photo... my shyness was acting again. Oh, and I brought along my new Nokia 6120 camera phone for testing.

As I glanced thru the program list, I saw what I missed out on Saturday... not much actually. Taufik, Jon's first performance, Jade Seah n Michelle Chong, Gurmit Singh, Mi Lu Bing, Campus Superstars, Live The Dream finalists... The Dream Final 2 soloists", I couldnt help but shake my head in utter disappointment... not over Fendi, but that SOMEONE who robbed my fave contestant of her place in th finals... and yep, I am so not afraid to profess my utter hatred for "DR DOOM version 2".

Anyway, Jonathan Leong came out at 12 pm... he is super shuai...!!! He sang "Chasing Cars" and the theme song for the 25th anniversary of Chinese Dramas, Qing Qian 25. We then headed to the backstage area to take a group picture wif him. I thought he looked a bit like MJ with that hairstyle of his... no offence!! :-X

After Jon was escorted out of Suntec, me and the Jonatics (12 in total) went to look for a place to haf our lunch. Eveline chose Kenny Rogers, and so we were all seated in a huge room at the corner of the place... we talked about the dismal outcome for "Live The Dream" and other singing contests. Then at around 1345 hrs, one of the Jonatics spotted a very familiar face at the place... TAN DIYA??? :-O Man what a small world!! We all took pic wif her, and I used my all-new Nokia 6120 phone to take pic of myself and the petite Project Superstar. At 2 pm... I had to rush to work, but not before buying a few rewritable DVDs for an upcoming Chinese drama that is to air later...
