Justice is served in SI 3 Top 6 last night...

Happy Birthday to Rina and Keely

Yesterday after finishing shift at 6 pm, I took taxi to MediaCorp once more to watch another episode of Singapore Idol, this time I got sector seat tickets and was seated alongside Charles' family, friends and fans. On a very interesting note, Tabby's family arrived about 1 or 2 minutes after me. I felt it is more worth getting sector seat tickets than mosh pit tickets, cos you get to enter the theater straightaway instead of wait at the parking lot for a long time before heading for the mosh pit. I couldnt seem to keep my eyes off Sylvia's curvaceous figure and beauty, but I put on earplugs the moment "Lousy Figure" Duane Ho performed a mediocre rendition of Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi", with a few dance moves for the finishing touch.

During "Sing-Along Idol" which came after the performance show, there were 6 fans representing the Top 6 by singing different songs. That attention seeking faggot named Sherry represented Sylvia and sang Rihanna's "Unfaithful", drawing a lot of boos for messing up his lyrics. Some leggy ang moh babe representing Tabitha got the loudest cheers and won the top prize. Also, there was a minor showdown between 6 young gals and 2 tall guys in green (why can't the second one put down his arms already!!).

For the Ch 5 news live feed, it was Gurmit along with Sezairi and Charles being surrounded by many fans as usual. I managed to get Gurms' autograph just before that :-) Former Idol contetants present at the theater were Farhan and Justin, no sign of Malaque, Nurul or even Mae (she had flown back to Perth to rent out her house and move all her stuff back to Singapore).

No guest performance during the Results show, but there was a music video featuring the Top 6 playing instruments and getting wet at the fountain in front of VivoCity, to the main theme of F.R.I.E.N.D.S "I'll Be There For You". When it came to the results, Faizal and Sezairi were declared safe, followed by the 2 remaining girls Tabitha and Sylvia. And last person to fill up the Top 5 slot was... CHARLES!! Finally, Duane's path of humiliation as well as his Idol joruney had ended (funny how come it had to happen right after his last O level paper). It was his first and only time in the Bottom 2 position. I laughed really hard cos there was a group of guys seated in front of me chanting that Bananarama song "Na na na na, na na na na, hey Duane, goodbye..." Justice has finally been served. Me and friends decided to head back home a few minutes before 11 pm, upon being told by one of the Idols' parents that the Idols will come out only after 12 am.

I seriously think the Judges' Save clause shouldnt even be introduced in first place...like no use already now that we're headed to Top 5.

Dedication to the fans of the Idols and the King of Pop

Before I set off for bed to prepare for a new day (as well as to watch Singapore Idol after work), I dedicate this song to the fans of the remaining Top 6, as well as to the fans of MJ. The movie "Michael Jackson's This Is It" has just ended its 2-week run in cinemas, now all we need to do is wait for the DVD to hit the stores.

They Don't Care About Us- Michael Jackson

Skin head, dead hea, everybody gone bad
Situation, aggravation, everybody allegation
In the suite, on the news, everybody dog food
Bang bang, shot dead, everybody's gone mad

All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about us
All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about us

Beat me, hate me, you can never break me
Will me, thrill me, you can never kill me
J** me, Sue me, everybody do me
Kick me, K*** me, don't you black or white me

All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about us
All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about us

Tell me what has become of my life
I have a wife and two children who love me
I am the victim of police brutality, now
I'm tired of bein' the victim of hate
You're rapin' me of my pride oh for God's sake
I look to heaven to fulfill its prophecy...
Set me free

Skin head, dead head, everybody gone bad
Trepidation, speculation, everybody allegation
In the suite, on the news, everybody dog food
Black man, black mail, throw your brother in jail

All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about us
All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about us

Tell me what has become of my rights
Am I invisible because you ignore me?
Your proclamation promised me free liberty, now
I'm tired of bein' the victim of shame
They're throwing me in a class with a bad name
I can't believe this is the land from which I came
You know I do really hate to say it
The government don't wanna see
But if Roosevelt was livin'
He wouldn't let this be, no, no

Skin head, dead head, everybody gone bad
Situation, speculation, everybody litigation
Beat me, bash me, you can never trash me
Hit me, kick me, you can never get me

All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about us
All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about us

Some things in life they just don't wanna see
But if Martin Luther was livin'
He wouldn't let this be, oh no

Skin head, dead head, everybody gone bad
Situation, segregation
Everybody allegation (hoo hoo...)
In the suite, on the news
Everybody dog food (hoo hoo...)
Kick me, K*** me
Don't you wrong or right me!

All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about us
(We're deep in fire)
All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about us
(I'm there to remind you)

All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about us
(Don't you like to know what it feels babe?)

All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about us (hoo hoo...)
All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about us (hoo hoo...)
All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about us (hoo hoo hee!!)
Hee hee... hoo hoo!!

Random thoughts for first week of Nov

Happy Birthday to Chris Jericho, Tay Ping Hui, Ariz and Jeron

If you might have noticed, I hardly have time to update my blog nowadays, mostly due to lack of motivation stemming from work fatigue 5.5 days a week. I mean seriously, there isn't much happenings these days, save for going for SI recordings and thinking of how to kill boredom on Sunday afternoons, given the lack of roadshows in recent months. Not to forget that I am still trying to kick the addiction from Facebook. Which is probably why you don't see much photos uploaded here as of late. Like I said many times, I'm nowhere as long-winded or lowlife or retarded as Sean Koh...

Speaking abt Sunday, I didn't do much... I went to church service with family, then we had lunch at Heartland Mall, I went to Chinatown to go see the mega toy-electronic fair again (it was the last day), bought 2 WWE figures (more on that in an upcoming entry, I promise!), and that's about it. I nearly wanted to go to Orchard Road, but was too tired by the time I got out of Chinatown. It was probably a blessing in disguise, cos I later found out from Mum that Orchard Road would be closed for about a week due to the APEC Summit that is to take place at Shangri-La Hotel at around this time. And President Obama is one of the many delegates involved in this global-scale meeting...

Tomorrow I will be going to MediaCorp once more to watch the Singapore Idol Top 6 Spectaculars
(thanks a lot for the extra ticket, Edmund)... I will be bringing along a pair of earplugs and maybe a blindfold to use when one of the finalists is about to perform Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi"... some of you might know who I am referring to. And the judges had BETTER use the Judges' Save already, it's already nearing the Top 5!! Whatever happens tomorrow, I am still sticking by the conditions I lay upon myself since last month... already lost part of my heart, mind and soul following the disastrous results for the past 4 weeks. The girls are the more impressive ones yet they are being dropped like flies... now there's only 2 girls left to cling onto the hope of having a female contestant being voted in the Finals come the night of December 27th. Already I can sense the pressure being put on these 2 fine-looking babes. Iskandar Sa'ad the Idol blogger did make a point... if Singapore doesn't get it right in time, the show may be 'dead and gone for sure'.

On a good note, I will still be updating my blog whenever I can... I can never bear to take a long hiatus from the blog which I had stayed faithful to for more than 3 years... to shift domain to the Notes function in Facebook would seem a bit strange.

My thoughts on "This Is It"

On Sunday afternoon, I went to Iluma to watch "Michael Jackson's This Is It". I totally enjoyed the entire show... not just because it represents a posthumous hurrah for the late King of Pop, but it also portrays MJ as a lively and energetic performer who had hardly lost his magic touch in terms. Never mind if Mike is looking way too scrawny or malnourished, or if his face looks worse than before (from all those botched surgeries for the past 20 years)... he could still pull off a great performance, he still got all it takes to show the world why the critics call him the King of Pop. I couldn't help but sing, snap my fingers and even tap my feet to most of his songs. He probably arranged for the 50 rehearsals to be compiled into a music concert film 'just in case' he wasn't going to make it (which unfortunately really did happen with his tragic passing on June 25th). I'm so gonna buy the DVD when it comes next month... :-)

This is the list of songs featured in the film...

Some pics taken during S'pore Idol Top 7 show

All these pics were taken on Wednesday night...

This is one half of the ticket pair that Ishardi managed to win earlier in the day. Many thanks, Ish :-)

The long queue at the parking lot... obviously the mosh pit queue was the longest. We were granted entry only by 7.40 pm.

Back in the good ol' MediaCorp TV Theater once more, a place full of laughter as well as tears...

Gurmit
brings out the Top 7 (alongside their parents).. I had to stop taking photos cos the security personnel asked me to keep my camera and use it only after the show went off air.

Some magician named Jeremy putting on a brilliant magic performance for about 20 to 30 minutes (4 different tricks in total). His female assistant may not be as gorgeous as MagicBabe Ning, but she sure got a pair of nice slender legs. It would be better if she wore something tighter, hee hee! :-)))

That Chao Ah Quah "Sherry Construe" (yes, that limp-wristed fag in pink polo t-shirt!!) always manages to grab any opportunity to steal the limelight, so annoying xiah, can't stand it!! Not to forget how "she" caused everyone to stare at her with "her" high-pitch scream during the long wait at the parking lot, so "throw away face"!! I won't ever add "her" on Facebook, not in the next 50 years!!

Gurmit, Tabby and Sylvia being surrounded by lots of screaming fans. Tabby is in Smackdown Blue and Sylvia is in Raw Red.

Me with Nurul Huda the Birthday Girl. she does look a lot liek Reese Witherspoon!! :-)

Me with lovely Malaque, who was also present at the recording. Justin Jap was with the 2 gals

The Top 7 get on stage to prepare for the Results Show... in a few minutes one of these Idol hopefuls will be going home. The first part of the results sickened me to the core...

Mae was the 7th Idol hopeful to be eliminated (the photo of her going up the stairs was taken after the show went of air)... but she left on a high note, and still putting on a brave front. I nearly wanted to cry when I saw Sylvia's face full of tears...

Mae coming out from reception and taking picture with fans. Due to overwhelming response, myself and Ish decided not to take picture with Mae, we both headed for the bus stop across the highway.

Dismayed over Singapore Idol Top 7 results

I am greatly disappointed once again... like the past 4 weeks, another girl has been booted off Singapore Idol 3 just last night. And to make things worse, the 3 judges didn't even bother to throw in the Judges' Save... they probably figured out that if they were to do so, Mae might still be eliminated the following week anyway. With Mae's exit, that leaves only 2 girls in the freshly minted pack of 6, namely Sylvia and Tabitha. Mae's mum wasn't very happy with the outcome, she demanded an explanation why the Judges wouldn't use the Judges' Save, and why it always has to be the girls to get the lowest number of votes...

Mae's mum Aunty Sandra did make a good point there when voicing out her grievances on the unfair voting system. Right from the Piano shows, this problem on the battle of the sexes has already been highlighted rather clearly. The ones who got through to the Spectaculars are all male (not counting Nurul Huda who was set to fill in the void left by MJ Kuok), and most of the finalists who got in by judges' choice are female. Now that I see the disastrous elimination pace, I believe MJ Kuok might have sensed this pattern coming, hence his decision to withdraw.

I did speak about the elimination patterns of the past 2 seasons, and whether Season 3 would mimic either one or go under a new pattern. However with girls being eliminated within 4 straight weeks (Nurul, Amira, Malaque and now Mae), the elimination pace of SI 3 seems to be going at nearly the equal rate as that of SI 2. That alone makes the possibility of a female contestant in the finals even lower, much like for SI 2. Let there not be a repeat please???

And on a personal note, can I say that I was greatly sickened by the voting prowess of a certain Idol's fanclub? He always has to perform songs with a piano (now can see how troublesome it can be for the backstage personnel to bring down the whole piano from the stage). And everytime he is announced to be safe, that's where the feeling of dismay and cynicism comes in. my mind would be at ease only if he ends up in the Bottom 3 position at one point of time (but that still hasn't happened yet). I got a feeling he might end up as the new Victor Tang if his fans and family continues to vote like mad to keep him into the competition. Give this boy a dignified exit already and let him concentrate on his O levels!!

If Singapore doesn't wisen up in time, then I guess that come end of the month, there will be a drastic drop in viewership ratings, should the girls be ousted from the show before the Final Showdown. And I know I won't be the only one who may stop watching Singapore Idol 3 for good when that day comes. So please vote for talent!!

For photos taken before and after the SI 3 Top 7 Spectaculars, go here...
Part 1 (before performance and during 1-hr break)
Part 2 (after Mae's exit)

On a more interesting note, it was quite a funny thing to see Laura Fygi's assets jiggle uncontrollably as she danced during the first few minutes of the Results show... and quite disturbing when Gurmit had to try very hard not to stare at her XXXX as he talked to her afterwards.

Pure luck at VivoCity!! :-O

Happy Birthday to Wang Huajing and Nurul Huda

I worked for half
-day earlier today... started work at 9 am and ended at 1 pm. Went to VivoCity to have lunch and jalan around. And then I decided to go up to Level 3 to take a few pictures of the outside scenery...

I did
see a huge Christmas Tree (about 100 feet tall according to the descriptions, whoa!!) in front of the amphitheater... and I saw something else nearby...

I was shocked to see the Top 6 Idols there near the low-depth pool!! And I saw them last night lor... talk about strange luck... :-O

Sigh unfortunately, the c
urvaceous beauty Sylvia Ratonel was nowhere to be seen. She was down with stomach flu plus viral infection since Monday, yet she managed to persevere and pull off a wonderous rendition of Duffy's "Warwick Avenue" during last night's show (but she still ended up at the Bottom 2 yet again). She had to take medical leave and rest at home... get well soon, babe!!

It took me about one hour to regain my composure before I finally went up to them to say hi. Managed to take picture with Faizal, Charles, Tabitha and Duane. It surely is great to meet up with a SI fan-turned-Idol finalist whom I first knew 3 years ago... none other than Faizal of course. :-) Charles looked rather short compared to last time, and Tabby sure looks as sweet and graceful as an angel. Even with Duane touching my shoulder with his arm, I felt it's a lot better than having that Chao Ah Quah "Sherry" touching me... EEEEWWWW!!!

Couldn't take picture with Sezairi as he was busy with retakes for interview... not that it mattered anyway. Can still try to see him next Wed, if I can get tickets that is.

So it really is thanks to the Christmas Tree as well as my love for photography that I had my share of pure strange luck... praise the Good Lord!! :-)

Dont piss me off already!

Can I just say that greedy people put me off? During the weekend, I observed something very strange about this guy, when it comes to taking picture with Dai Yang Tian and Elvin Ng. He already took pic with the artiste on stage, yet he still want to take pic with him again after the artiste got off stage and is about to leave. ONCE IS ENOUGH, OK?? And then to add salt to the wound, he goes to boast too much about it on his Facebook Wall, to the extent of 'talking to himself'. Whats wrong with him, seriously!! Already I am starting to feel that he is becoming a desperado and a complete wacko, becoming perilously close to Sean-Koh standards, if you know what I mean>:-(

I also don't like being told to 'control myself and try not to see celebs too often'. I mean look, there hasn't been much roadshows for past few months, and I know too well that there's more to life than just 'zui ming xing'. Nothing wrong for 20-plus young adults to do that, right???

This song I dedicate to not just the MJ fans, but also to those who dare give me 'sound advice' about what I shouldn't do... and even that weirdo who can never seem to get enough of taking picture with artists.

Michael Jackson- BAD

Your butt is mine, gonna tell you right
Just show your face in broad daylight
I'm telling you on how I feel
Gonna hurt your mind, don't shoot to kill

Come on, come on,
Lay it on me, all right...

I'm giving you on count of three
To show your stuff or let it be...
I'm telling you, just watch your mouth
I know your game, what you're about

[Bridge]
Well they say the sky's the limit
And to me that's really true
But my friend you have seen nothin'
Just wait 'till I get through

[Chorus:]
Because I'm bad, I'm bad - come on
(Bad bad - really, really bad)
You know I'm bad, I'm bad - you know it
(Bad bad - really, really bad)
You know I'm bad, I'm bad - come on, you know
(Bad bad - really, really bad)
And the whole world has to answer right now
Just to tell you once again,
Who's bad...

The word is out, you're doin' wrong
Gonna lock you up before too long,
Your lyin' eyes gonna tell you right
So listen up, don't make a fight,
Your talk is cheap, you're not a man
You're throwin' stones to hide your hands

[Bridge]

Well they say the sky's the limit
And to me that's really true
But my friend you have seen nothin'
Just wait 'till I get through

[Chorus:]
Because I'm bad, I'm bad - come on
(Bad bad - really, really bad)
You know I'm bad, I'm bad - you know it
(Bad bad - really, really bad)
You know I'm bad, I'm bad - come on, you know
(Bad bad - really, really bad)
And the whole world has to answer right now
Just to tell you once again,
Who's bad...

We can change the world tomorrow
This could be a better place
If you don't like what I'm saying'
Then won't you slap my face...

Because I'm bad, I'm bad - come on
(Bad bad - really, really bad)
You know I'm bad, I'm bad - you know it
(Bad bad - really, really bad)
You know I'm bad, I'm bad - come on, you know
(Bad bad - really, really bad)
Hoo! Hoo! Hoo!
(And the whole world has to answer right now
Just to tell you once again...)

You know I'm bad, I'm bad - come on
(Bad, bad - really, really bad)
You know I'm bad, I'm bad - you know it - you know it
(Bad bad - really, really bad)
You know, you know, you know - come on
(Bad bad - really, really bad)
(And the whole world has to answer right now)
(Just to tell you once again)

You know I'm smooth - I'm bad - you know it
(Bad bad - really, really bad)
You know I'm bad - I'm bad baby
(Bad bad - really, really bad)
You know it, you know it, you know it - come on
(Bad bad, really, really bad)
And the whole world has to answer right now
Woo! (Just to tell you once again)

You know I'm bad, I'm bad - you know it
(Bad bad - really, really bad)
You know I'm bad- you know- hoo!
(Bad bad - really, really bad)
You know I'm bad- I'm bad- you know it, you know
(Bad bad - really, really bad)
And the whole world has to answer right now
Just to tell you once again...
Who's bad?

INQ roadshow Day 2... seeing Mr Bear once more

Yesterday started off with me doing brilliance control for the camera output during church service (morning). After that, I went to Chinatown to have lunch, and I headed down to China Square Central to check some toys. I couldn't believe my luck, there was a jumbo toys sale going on at Levels 1 and 2, plus some of the WWE toys were sold at special rate. And so I bought a Rey Mysterio toy and an additional John Cena toy (meant for someone else) at only 15 dollars, plus a few accessories. Before taking bus to Bugis region, I managed to find 3 cats along Hong Lim Complex and take lotsa pictures of them.

Upon reaching Bugis, I went to buy ticket for "Michael Jackson's This Is It" at Iluma, at about 1.30 pm. Seeing that I still had plenty of time before the show which starts at 2.40 pm, I went to hang around Bugis Junction, just to kill time. Then I went back to Iluma to watch "This Is It"... it's a damn awesome movie, portrays the late MJ as a lively and energetic star who could still pull it off in spite of his failing health and crumbling face. Stay tuned for an upcoming post consisting on my thoughts about the film...

After I left the cinema at 4.40 pm, I took train to Dhoby Ghaut, meeting up with 4 Elves (fans of Elvinology) at HK Cafe located at Level 6 of Plaza Sing, that was where we would have our dinner. We then met up with 2 more Elves and hanged around the place til about 7.20 pm.

Event started at 8 pm sharp, Elvin arrived just on time. Man, it's been about 5 months since most of us last saw him... coincidentally, the last time we saw him was at the Open Plaza stage at Plaza Sing on 31st May. 2 Elves kena sabo'ed by the rather 'merciless' host to play the same game that I was involved in. The response for the photo-taking session that came after the onstage activities was better than that for DYT, mostly due to the fact that more people are familiar with Elvin who has been in showbiz for about 3 years (not to forget that he's the face of Shokubutsu for Men). After Elvin left the place abt 10 minutes before 9 pm, that's when all of us went separate ways. :-)

INQ roadshow Day 1... kena saboed by DYT :-(

After knocking off from work at 6 pm yesterday, I braved through the heav rain and headed down to Plaza Singapura. For Day 1 of this event, up-and-rising hunk Dai Yang Tian was present at the event (he arrived 15 minutes late!), talking about using the new INQ Mini 3G phone to access to sites like Facebook, Twitter, Amp-Ed or IM-on-Mobile. At one point of time, I kena saboed to go up on stage to play some on-stage game!! For the entire event, DYT spoke mainly in Chinese, he hardly said an English word other than Facebook or Twitter. Before the event came to a close, abt 25 fans queued up to take pic with DYT, and he left a few minutes before 9 pm.

To see more pics, go here... INQ roadshow Day 1
