HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO EDMUND CHEN AND EZANN LEE :-)
I made use of my whole day-off from work yesterday by attending the CNY roadshows at Compass Point AND Centrepoint!! Many many thanks to Steph and Jo for letting me tag along to Radiogate... my mission went very smoothly by the end of the day... what a great weekend indeed!! :-)
This is how the day went...
0800 hrs- woke up and went to church wif Mum and bro.
0900 hrs- Went for church service... sermon is on the need to hear from God (Joshua 5:14)
1030 hrs- Right after Communion and Benediction, I set off to Compass Point to meet up wif friend for lunch at Mc's
1200 hrs- After lunch, me and Mr I headed to main space at ground level... lol, the Elvin and the Jollity fans were already there!! :-O
1315 hrs- After a long wait, the celebs finally arrived... MC King and Joey got on stage
1325 hrs- Dasmond, host of "Next Stop... Bon Appetit" was the first to be featured. His co-host Jaime Teo was noticably absent. He and another guy played some food sampling game (while blindfolded).
1350 hrs- The 'younger generation' for "Happily Ever After" got on stage to a very loud ovation... Elvin (Cowherd/ Tianying), Joanne (Weaving Maiden/ Tianqin), Fiona (Chang-E/ Moon), Yaodong (Wu Gang) and Ben (Pigsy/ Zhu Wanjin). They drew some pictures as part of an activity for Chinese New year celebrations and proverbs.
1415 hrs- The 'older generation' for the same show got on stage... Zhang Wenxiang (Lu Dongbing), Yao Wenlong (Erlang Deity/ Yang Jian), Huang Wenyong (Jade Emperor) and Chen Liping (Queen Mother/ Madam Wang). Emcee Lan Qinxi aka MC King was also part of the show as Celestial Hound. They played some very funny 'guess-the-celeb' game.
1450 hrs- I joined in the queue to get on stage to shake every artiste's hand and receive an hongbao. Then I took MRT from Sengkang to Somerset...
1535 hrs- Reached Centrepoint, was surprised to see Meiling and gang already there earlier than me!
1620 hrs- Finally saw Steph and her cousin Jo (big surprise!!)... nearly succeeded in poking Steph's waist, but she defended herself (way too smart eh... but really, I think she's lost weight)!! Suddenly, my heart went kinda soft... then minutes later, Mr Yeow showed up, and he's got a paper bag full of presents specially for Fiona
1635 hrs- The hosts came out at last. Dasmond was first to come out. Followed by Wenxiang, Wenyong, Wenlong and Liping. The four veterans played Charades wif two contestants.
1715 hrs- Yaodong, Ben, Fiona, Elvin and Joanne came out. They played Guess-the-celebs game along wif Dasmond... the veterans soon joined in the fun.
1740 hrs- Me, Steph and Jo decided to leave the place earlier and take a cab to Radiogate from outside The Istana. We decided to buy some sandwiches from the machine at the good ol' waiting foyer... I may haf filled my stomach, but my knees (and heart) are still feeling a little weak
1815 hrs- The bus containing the celebs arrived by another route... the three of us headed to Radiogate quickly. MC King was the first to leave... followed by Ben. Elvin made his way out and stopped at the taxi stand to take pic wif us and sign autographs. Fiona came soon after, and stayed for abt 10 min before hopping into a cab she'd hired earlier. Yaodong stopped his car to sign autographs and take pic wif us.
1830 hrs- Joanne pulled over and got out of her car to take pic wif us. Dasmond and Joey drove out of RG at around this time. After abt 15 mins hanging around wif us fans, Joanne bade goodbye to Elvin and fans... Elvin then left the place via his parents' car.
1850 hrs- We all went our separate ways. I headed home to join my mum and bro for dinner... tehn later i uploaded the pics in the Mediacorp Forums. Everything went very smoothly lor... managed to take pic wif Fiona, Elvin and Joanne without much difficulty!! Thanks so much to Meiling and Jollity fans, Marcus and Elvin fans, Steph and Jo... last but not least, thank u so very much for giving me the day off, Edwin!! :-)
