The dark side clouds everything... review on ROTS

Happy Birthday to Jim Ross and Christine Tay
Rest in peace, Jett Travolta (son of John Travolta and Kelly Preston) :-(((

I had a really stressful day at work yesterday... I had to complete certain assignments (given by Miss Z) within superbly short notice, and just when I was wanting to concentrate on a new set of forms given by Miss Y (whom I am in better terms with), I was instructed to continue with that agonizing TRUCKLOAD that Miss Z asked me to do, to finish it and email to her by 6 pm (closing time). I was so stressed out, I was nearly driven to the point of insanity. My mind eventually went numb for the next few hours, even when I went for a haircut prior to heading back home. How I wish I had the ability to transform into the HULK... so I can vent out my anger and frustration to destress myself and get some peace of mind. Or maybe as psychotic and fearsome as Kane, so I can chokesalm the offending person through a table and make him/her FEEL MY PAIN (evil smirk).

Anyway, later I will be going for 2 events... an A-Go-Go Princess roadshow at Chinatown, and then possibly a certain TalentsQuest roadshow at Eastpoint Mall. More details to be updated in an upcoming post... right now I would like to take this time to talk about the movie that is to be shown tomorrow on Channel 5...

STAR WARS EPISODE III: REVENGE OF THE SITH!!! (cue Imperial March theme)

Being a Star Wars fan for more than 10 years since the age of 10, I have always been interested in lightsaber duels as well as the storyarcs on good guys turned bad. Star Wars Episode III is perhaps the best Star Wars film I have ever seen (the second one being "Return of The Jedi")... not just because it showcases the long-awaited duel between Anakin Skywalker and his former mentor Obi-Wan Kenobi, but it also showcases the downfall of The Chosen One, and what exactly caused him to sell his soul to the dark side (and lost most of his Force potential on the hellish planet of Mustafar right after being defeated by Obi-Wan). I am only gonna watch half the film since I already got the VCD, haha... I rate it 9 out of 10 stars. :-)

Fear of loss, obsession for more power, selfishness, arrogance, lack of self-control, confusion, hatred towards others as well as self, and endless suffering... these are the traits that can cause anyone, even the noblest hero like Anakin Skywalker, to fall from grace and become a walking nightmare (to be kept alive by life-support system, cumbersome armor and cybernetic enhancements). We all have a choice whether to resist the forces of darkness and do what's right for ourselves and for others, or let the darkness corrupt us entirely and mold us into something unthinkable and frightening. The dark path may seem to be the easier path to follow for some, but the question is what can one truly gain from it? All too often, the Devil will make use of people's negative feelings to his advantage and try to work his way into the hearts of those people, with the hopes of causing their downfalls.
But as Star Wars fanatics or anyone in general know... even during the times of darkness or great turmoil, there is still a ray of hope that shines at the end of the tunnel, with the birth of the twins Luke and Leia, who would both lead the Rebllion to restore peace to the galaxy and defeat the Empire. It was Luke who held on to the belief that there is still goodness left in his father, and he would encourage Vader to let go of his hate and redeem himself by betraying his Master (aka Palpatine/Sidious) and restore balance to the Force.

Things I liked very much about the film...
- The space battle over Coruscant at the very start of the film
- Anakin slaying Count Dooku in cold blood (and the look of shock on Dooku's face when Palpatine ordered for his execution). This marks Dooku's only scene throughout the entire film, haha!!
- Very little screentime for Jar-Jar Binks
- The Wookiees in action, plus the return of Chewbacca (Raawwr... Mwahrr!!)
- The fight between Obi-Wan (Hello there) and General Grievous
- Mace Windu vs Palpatine
- Anakin becoming Darth Vader
- The establishment of the first Galactic Empire
- The Separatists running around like chickens when Darth Vader started slaughtering them
- The duel between Yoda and Sidious (though it ended in a draw)
- The duel between Obi-Wan and Vader on the planet Mustafar
- The immolation of Vader (trust me, you will feel for him)
- The rebirth of Darth Vader, and the birth of the Skywalker twins (but both scenes were kinda rushed)

Things I didn't really like about the film...
- General Grievous appearing for only the first half of the film (but that's only because he's not the primary villain, and only a pre-cursor to Darth Vader)
- Grievous being killed off in the most uncivilized way (according to Obi-Wan's point of view)
- The still-flat (and somewhat painful) dialogue between Anakin and Padme prior to the Chosen One's fall
- Agen Kolar and Saesee Tiin being caught off-guard and killed off very quickly without even getting a chance to cross blades with Palpatine!! At least Kit Fisto did manage to block a few strikes for a while...
- The Jedi younglings being slaughtered by the Fallen Hero Anakin (obviously it wasn't shown in film, but you know they can't defend themselves against a more experienced Jedi, right?)
- Order 66... the Jedi commanders being betrayed and killed by the clone troopers (kinda sux for the Jedi not to know anything about Palpatine's goals)
- Padme having lost the will to live due to broken heart over Anakin's fall to the dark side
- The scene on Yoda's arrival on Dagobah being deleted (kinda bummed many fans that time)
- The average-type Clone Wars TV series airing on Channel 5 every Saturday! True that it is the first time the characters are featured in 3-D, but it wasn't enough to enable me to relive the Star Wars fanfare

Remember, Star Wars Epsiode III is to be shown tomorrow on Channel 5 at 6.30 pm!! May the Force be with you.

"The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be... unnatural." - Chancellor Palpatine

You know, sometimes there's always a dark side besides a good side. Even at times too I feel worked up towards certain things, which made me bitter at times.

And that, I'm post a blog which is about myself, plus how I view things in life. So keep a lookout for my latest entry....

You're not alone, everyone has a dark side. There's always a positive side and a negative side to many things in life, a bit like yin-yang. You will know that we cling onto many facts or lies from a certain point of view.
