Power Rangers (billed as Saban's Power Rangers) is an upcoming American superhero film directed by Dean Israelite and written by John Gatins, Kieran Mulroney, Michele Mulroney and Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless. The film is based on the franchise of the same name, serving as a reboot and re-imagining of the franchise. The film features most of the main characters of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers portrayed by a new cast. Franchise creator Haim Saban returned to produce the film under his private equity investment firm. The film will be released in the United States on March 24, 2017.
Plot
Saban’s Power Rangers follows five ordinary teens who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove - and the world - is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so, they will have to overcome their real-life issues and before it’s too late, band together as the Power Rangers.
