Star Wars Episode 7 Part 03: Luke Skywalker
Son of Anakin Skywalker, raised by his uncle and aunt on the desert planet of Tatooine, Luke is one of the greatest Jedi in the galaxy. He has been a Rebellion pilot, the hero of the Battle of Yavin and the last of the Jedi. He never stopped believing he could turn his father back to the light side of the Force and he was right: he saved Anakin and ended the Sith order. Afterwards, he tried to revive the Jedi Order with a new generation of Force-sensitive beings. Unfortunately, his former apprentice fell to the dark side and joined the Knights of Ren, who in turn slaughtered most of the Jedi. Seeing his dream burnt to ashes, Luke felt responsible for his apprentice's fall and went into hiding. Many people have been trying to locate him since, but they all failed...
Force powers and abilities
Vision of the future: Even if the future is always in motion, the Jedi have the ability to foresee it. While training on Dagobah, Luke has a vision of what is going to happen to his friends in Cloud City.
Lightsaber Swordman: Luke is skilled in Form V lightsaber combat, and he had duelled against the experienced Darth Vader on 2 occasions. During the first encounter on Cloud City, he lost his hand and his first lightsaber (which his father built and used during the Clone Wars), but he was able to defeat Vader in the rematch aboard the second Death Star.
Mind Control: A Jedi must be very careful not to abuse his power. Through the Force, Luke can persuade others to do what he wants, but as he learnt from his encounter with Jabba the Hutt, mind tricks only worked on the weak-minded.
Telekinesis: Focusing on an object, Luke can move it without the need to touch it. He can summon his lightsaber when it is beyond his reach, or even make a droid levitate.
Force Piloting: during the Battle of Yavin, Rebel pilots have to use proton missiles to hit a very small port within the Death Star, which was impossible to be targeted at high speed. Luke used the Force to aid him, and he succeeded.
From Padawan to Master
Luke's first Master is Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, who was mentor to Anakin Skywalker before he fell to the dark side. He teaches Luke the ways of the Force aboard the Millennium Falcon.
On the swamp planet of Dagobah, Luke is trained by Jedi Grand Master Yoda, but Luke abandons his training halfway and chooses to save his friends on Cloud City.
Emperor Sheev Palpatine, also known as Darth Sidious, tries to make Luke his apprentice abaord the Death Star, but Luke flatly declines the offer and declares himself a Jedi, like his father before him.
Luke tries to pass on his knowledge to a few students as well as his apprentice. Unfortunately, he loses his Padawan B.S. to the dark side of the Force.
