Iron Man films Informatics Part 11: Mark VIII to XI

Mark VIII was the first armor that Tony Stark built following the events of The Avengers. It is less bulky and has a unique and smooth design on its face mask. It is presumed that the suit weapons are more advanced than in previously made suits along with its manuverbility. It also has extra layers of Kevlar, which allow it to withstand the force of a small missile. Because of this, it is able to take harder hits and take more damage in the battlefield.

Mark IX was an upgrade to the Mark VIII. It has redesigned colored plates and a rough-edged mask. It was designed for extreme flexibility, movement and agility.

Mark X was an upgrade to the Mark IX. The suit is presumably upgraded to have more flight, speed, and power. It has been equipped with extra visible repulsors on it's sides near the abdomen area, meant to increase speed and power. Also, on the soles of its feet, it has oversized and improved Flight Stabilizers, increasing it's power, letting it reach high-altitudes and go faster. It was the fastest suit until other suits such as Tiger and Shotgun came along. Other differences include a enhanced chest piece, redesigned colored plates, and a new face plate design. Near the end of the Extremis battle, it mistook Pepper as a Extremis soldier and began attacking her. Tony tried to tell it to fall back, but it continued. Pepper then attacked and smashed the armor, using its repulsors to kill The Mandarin

Mark XI was an upgrade to the Mark X.
