National Day variety show at Jurong West

Happy Birthday to Barack Obama, Janice, Kailing and Dave

Yesterday's speaker for Sunday service was Rev Rusty Russell, the message he preached (Isaiah 60:1-5) was quite meaningful and interesting. After service ended, me and Mum had lunch at Heartland Mall, then went back home to rest.

I checked my email once I got home... I found out that I've been accepted for the Calefare shoot!! WOO HOO!!! :-D I picked the dates and times of availability... high chance I might be able to see Miss FX one of these days!! :-p Man I am getting really excited... but of course I won't get too cocky.

Firstly, I left the house at 4 something, took a train to Jurong East and had dinner there. Then I took a bus to Chinese Garden station... I took the opportunity to explore only abt half of Chinese Garden. Due to the fact that I had climbed up a 7-storey pagoda, I was too tired to explore further, so I decided to cut short the exploration route at abt 1845 hrs. After a good rest for abt 20 mins, I took a bus to Jurong West Street 41. More pictures of Chinese garden can be found in an upcoming post (not neccessarily the next one).

The hosts for the variety show were Pornsak and Charlyn Lin Cuifang. First half of show was rather dull, lots of old singers on stage, so I didn't take much pictures. I spent a few minutes playing my PSP elsewhere, and it was at a void deck that I got a 'surprise attack'... by Source??? :-O Towards end of first half, I saw Ice, Delphine, Rachel, Lijuan and a few other familiar fans.

For the start of the second half of the variety show, Ebi Shankara sang 2 Tamil songs. Last time i saw him was at the Courts Megastore 1st Anniversary last December.

Then came a Malay singer named Rani. She's either from "Live The Dream" or "Anugerah", I don't know.

Aliff Aziz sang 2 Malay songs from his first album. Second album is in works I think.

Tan Diya was next, singing Daniel Powter's "Bad Day" and "Happy Birthday", her original. Can I say that I hate the smoke used throughout most of the show?? Makes it difficult for us to get a clear pic of any performer on stage. :-(

Fel came at abt 9.50 pm. She sang a Chinese song (possibly by Rainie Yang) and an English song, "I'm Your Venus, I'm Your Fire", an 80s Disco song by Bananarama.

Then came Ping Hui... dats I had no idea he was involved too. I forgot the names of the songs he sang, for I was more focused on the fans snapping pictures of Fel at the backstage area. His was the very last item.

Then all the artistes and guests gathered for the (second) finale... singing a few National Day songs. Last song was "We Are Singapore".

As expected, many fans followed Fel all the way to the van at tha parking lot. My intention was to get an autograph from Fel on behalf of my friend, but given the situation, the mission ended in failure. But that's ok really, there's always a next time. I was however, quite surprised that Ping Hui had 'teleported' mysteriously. I find it a bit sad that the fans would rather go after a Princess than after a Prince.

Return route: took bus to Chinese Garden MRT station, took MRT all the way to Eunos, took bus back home. And I found it rather hard to sleep, so I had to wear my 'ruby quartz' shades to 'improve' the insomniac case.
