First and foremost, congratulations to Team Singapore for clinching the silver Olympic medal for table tennis... I personally feel that it's impossible for the 3 S'pore reps to beat the world's No 1, 2 and 5 in table tennis. And having 3 Chinese nationals to represent our country (with two of them being granted citizenship in less than a year) will certainly raise lots of eyebrows...
Yesterday was truly a birthday party worth remembering. More than 3 hours of fun and excitement with a rising celeb named Nathaniel Ho :-) This is the 3rd or 4th celeb birthday gathering I have attended so far...
In the morning, I went for church service as usual, manning the video camera as per "every 3 week" stipulation. After the AV team was dismissed, I immediately zoomed to the MRT station, and headed to Newton. Saw Fiona and Kelly there, then showed them pictures of Felicia at Suntec via digicam. Soon after, Karen's husband came by the 'BP Express' (yellow minibus), and transported abt 8 of us to the venue of the party. I can't remember the exact name of the place (L-Residence I think), but I tell you, it's a really high-class place, with 4 storeys and a basement, plus swimming pool. Our eyes widened in amazement, and our mouths dropped in awe as we entered the place. Later we found out that the 'residnce' is actually some type of place meant to organise birthday parties of any sort. Check out these pictures!! ;-)
At 12 plus, Nat arrived, from upstairs!! Then we got to introduce ourselves, play some games and do some acting. Games like "8-Up', "Guess The Person", "Say Out The Color/Word".
At 1340 hrs, we sang "Happy Birthday" and applauded as Nat blew the candles and cut the cake.
Lunch at L-Residence was fabulous... spring rolls, lasagna and chicken wings. Drinks served were water and orange juice.
We had great time of fellowship. Nat went around each table to take picture with the fans, so nobdoy would feel so left out. As I had observed, the male ratio had increased from the last gathering held at Settlers' cafe last year.
After lunch, we headed back to the living room and went ahead with a Heng Or Huat group act, which was pretty hilarious. Cassandra, boss of Audio Technica company, judged our performances along with her husband. Group 1 won based on their performances for the other games.
At 1515 hrs, came the presentation of the all-new NATural membership cards. After which, we went for group photo.
From 1540 hrs, came autograph session as well as individual photo taking. After which, we went to write our birthday wishes on the balloons.
Yep, this is what I wrote for Nat :-)
For the grand finale, which came at 4 plus (a little overrun), Nat released the balloons into the air! :-D
After a few more group photos, we were transported back to Newton station, where we went to our respective homes. What a party!! :-)
I think I may need to go for a haircut real soon...
