The Dinobots are a group of Autobots who turn into dinosaurs, or at least things which mostly look like dinosaurs.
The Dinobots (some of them, at least) were captured aboard Lockdown's ship as trophies until the Autobots detached that section to free Optimus Prime. When the ship eventually crashed in China, Optimus decided that time had come for reinforcements to battle Galvatron's forces and freed the Dinobots, offering them to join forces with him. Grimlock battled Optimus for dominance, but was beaten, and the Dinobots agreed to help the Autobots.
The Dinobots' massive size, strength and ferocity turned the tide of battle in the Autobots' favor in the nick of time, swiftly defeating the prototypes in Hong Kong until Lockdown returned. The Dinobots were trapped in Lockdown's magnetic vortex, but Optimus destroyed it, freeing the Dinobots. After the battle, Optimus dismissed the Dinobots from his command, allowing them to roam free on Earth, and the Dinobots parted on good terms with the Autobots and set off on their own.
GRIMLOCK
Grimlock is a Dinobot with a rather rough n' tough attitude, and the ability to transform into a horned Tyrannosaurus. One of the most powerful warriors alive, his general approach to a problem is to smash it first, worry about the specifics later. This attitudes extends to his Autobot companions, who are expected to meet Grimlock's standard of strength. That said, the Autobots have a lot less to fear from this behemoth than the Decepticons. Grimlock's actions command respect from all who are witness to them, both friend and foe.
SCORN
Scorn is what happens when you combine a destructive war machine with a predator. Nothing else so much as a destroyer on two legs, he's strong and massive. Other than using his Spinosaurus alternate mode in combat, Scorn is also a demolitions specialist and wields the Scrapmaker Sword in Bot mode. His massive size makes him almost impossible to bring down.
SLUG
Slug is a savage destroyer amongst the Dinobots, a Triceratops who doesn't like being given orders, unless they involve head-butting an opponent into next week. His ferocity and durability proved a great asset against Galvatron's forces. He possesses enormous strength and can shatter a brick building with a single blow from his armored head. His horns can also shoot high powered lasers. Slug's biggest weakness is his over-aggressive behavior, which can cause problems relating with other Autobots.
STRAFE
You'd be forgiven if upon seeing Strafe appear on the battlefield, you had some sort of embarrassing evacuation. After all, a gigantic, two-headed Pteranodon swooping down on you would shake the toughest minds. Yet Strafe is an interesting contradiction in terms. A powerful and merciless warrior on the field, Strafe is one of the most friendly and approachable individuals you're ever likely to meet. This airborne assault specialist is very good friends with Bumblebee.
