X-Men Days Of Future Past film informatics Past 12: Quicksilver

With the ability to travel faster than the speed of sound, this supersonic mutant named Pietro Maximoff rightly earns the name Quicksilver. In the main comics, Quicksilver is the estranged son of Magneto and twin brother of Scarlett Witch. In this film, he is a teenage mutant recruited by Charles Xavier to free Magneto from the heavily guarded prison located beneath the Pentagon. Quicksilver remarked that his mother used to date a man named Erik who knew how to control metal, alluding that Magneto may indeed be his father. He is later seen watching a live telecast of the Sentinels' unveiling with his younger sister (possibly named Wanda).

Powers
Quicksilver is a mutant capable of moving and thinking at superhuman speeds. Originally capable of running at the speed of sound; exposure to the High Evolutionary's Isotope E made it possible for the character to run at supersonic speeds of up to Mach 10 and resist the effects of friction, reduced oxygen, and kinetic impact while moving at super-speeds. Pietro wears silver goggles in order to protect his eyes from debris while he is running at top speed, and a Walkman set attached to his belt, with clip-on headphones to listen to music while he runs.

“Out Running Gravity”: Pietro is able to use his speed to cross bodies of water, or run up walls.
Vibration: Pietro can vibrate his body to become intangible, or destroy anything he touches. As a result, he can dodge oncoming bullets with ease.
Vortex: Pietro can run in circles, creating whirlwinds and wind funnels for offensive and defensive purposes.
Superhuman Strength: He is capable of lifting 1 ton with his legs.
Durability: While not indestructible, Quicksilver does have high physical resistance that can protect against a lot of high impact physical trauma.
Superhuman Strength: Pietro has superhuman strength in his lower body. He is capable of lifting 1 ton with his legs.
Quick Intellect: Pietro is able to think at great speeds. Due to his high speed of perception, telepaths often have difficulty using their abilities against him.

It has been revealed that one of the reasons for Quicksilver's abrasive and impatient personality is that it seems to him that the rest of the world is moving in slow motion, and that he is constantly waiting for it to catch up. As he once explained, "Have you ever had a day where you are at the ATM and you are in a hurry because you're running late, but the person in front of you doesn't know how to use the ATM, and they're taking forever? Now imagine what it must be like to spend every day surrounded by people who don't know how to use the ATM."
