X-Men Days Of Future Past film informatics Part 20A: Other characters from X-Men First Class

These characters appeared only in X-Men First Class, they were killed either during the events of this film, or before the events of "Days Of Future Past". Darwin was killed by Sebastian Shaw early in the film, and Shaw was in turn killed by Magneto aboard his personal submarine. Angel, Azazel and Riptide were killed by Project Wide Awake operatives in July 1963, their bodies later experimented on by Dr Bolivar Trask. Emma and Banshee were killed by the same operatives in early 1964, sometime after Magneto was implicated in the assassination of President John F Kennedy.

Armando Munoz aka Darwin
Darwin was a mutant who had the power of reactive evolution, causing his body to adapt to any environment he was in. He demonstrated abilities such as growing gills when underwater, and developing thick armor plating to withstand physical beatings. Professor X and Magneto first encounter him as a taxi cab driver. In a short conflict between Xavier's mutants and Sebastian Shaw, the latter absorbs Havok's energy blast and converts it into a ball, forcing it down Darwin's throat, causing him to internally explode despite his attempts to adapt to the raw energy.

Sean Cassidy aka Banshee
Banshee is a mutant capable of emitting incredibly strong ultrasonic screams, sonic blasts, sonic bursts, and sonic waves used in various ways including as a means of flight. Banshee was seen being rejected by a girl at an aquarium, before he was recruited by Professor X and Magneto to form the X-Men. He met his teammates and saw Darwin die when the Hellfire Club came to recruit them to join the party. Banshee trained to become an X-Men after they encountered Sebastian Shaw. Professor X trained everyone as did Magneto. Magneto taught Banshee to fly by pushing him off the satellite dish. He was now well trained at his screaming and flying. Banshee joined his teammates into fighting the Hellfire Club. He used his ability to track the whereabouts of Sebastian Shaw's submarine, and had an air battle with his former X-Men teammate Tempest. Magneto let out a speech to join his Brotherhood of Mutants, Banshee stayed with Professor X, as did Beast and Havok.

Hellfire Club

Sebastian Shaw
A mutant with the ability to absorb kinetic energy and metabolize it to enhance his own physical strength, speed, and stamina.. In 1944, Shaw (under the alias Dr. Schmidt) was a scientist working for the Nazis. He was present at the Auschwitz concentration camp, where he put young Erik Lensherr through numerous experiments and killed his mother in an effort to get him to consciously use his ability. He later becomes the leader of the Hellfire Club, a secret society bent on taking over the world and starting the next World War. This plot is stopped by the first X-Men during the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962. The helmet Magneto wore to block Xavier's mental abilities is revealed to have been given to Shaw by the Russians after they learned that the Americans had recruited a telepath. Erik battles Shaw and kills hi at the end of the film in revenge for killing his mother, slowly forcing a coin through his head after Charles Xavier immobilized Shaw by using his telepathic abilities (after Magneto removes Shaw's helmet that protects Shaw's brain from any mental attack) , but despite Erik's animosity toward Shaw, the former ultimately admits he agrees with Shaw's beliefs in mutant superiority, proclaiming that he chooses to kill Shaw because Shaw killed his mother and tortured him. Erik eventually takes the helmet for his own use, adopting the title of Magneto, and the remaining members of the Hellfire Club join his new-founded Brotherhood of Mutants.

Emma Frost
She is a powerful telepath who could convert her skin into diamond, and is the consort of Sebastian Shaw, the villainous leader of the Hellfire Club who seeks to start a nuclear war between the Soviet Union and United States, to rule over this new world order. She is able to completely block Xavier from using his telepathy on her and Shaw, create illusions, perform mental torture, as well as sense the initial activation of Cerebro from thousands of miles away. While in diamond form, she shows absolute immunity towards psychic attack and has enhanced strength and durability, able to easily cut through glass and glacial ice and punch Magneto off a boat and into the sea. However, Erik later uses his powers to choke her with a metal bar to get information out of her while in her diamond form. This caused massive cracks in her body while in that form, and after she reverts to flesh and blood, he let Charles read her mind, implying that a single tap should be enough to shatter her completely should she attempt to morph back to diamond form. Emma is incarcerated in the CIA headquarters, although she is later freed by Lehnsherr, who now goes by the name of Magneto.

Azazel
Azazel is a red-skinned mutant who can teleport himself as well as other people across great distances. His prehensile tail allows him to grab onto objects with relative ease, and is strong enough to not only support his body weight but also lift an adult man completely off the ground. It is deft enough to fight with like a sword or blunt object. He killed many CIA agents with Riptide and Shaw during their assault on Division X. His hijacking of a Soviet freighter during the Cuban Missile Crisis nearly led to an all-out nuclear war. After Shaw died, Azazel and the rest of the Hellfire Club joined the Brotherhood of Mutants.

Angel Salvadore
Angel Salvadore, codename Tempest, is a mutant with the ability to fly with insect-like wings, which are tattooed on her body, and eject flaming acid. In 1962, Angel was working as a stripper when she was approached by Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr, who persuade her to join the X-Men. Angel later meets her other teammates and gets to know them. They give themselves codenames and display their powers. Salvadore was with the X-Men until the Hellfire Club attacked the Division X facility where they were staying. They did not want to hurt the X-Men but recuit them. She was the only one to join, although her former teammates Havok and Darwin tried to stop her, Darwin was killed by Sebastian Shaw. Angel joined the battle against her former teammates during the Cuban Missile Crisis. She fights Banshee in the air, but is subsequently beaten by Havok, who shoots off half of her wings with an energy blast. She and the other Hellfire members later joined Magneto.

Riptide (real name Janos Quested)
Riptide is a mutant who can spin his body fast enough to create large tornados. He is also able to generate smaller tornadoes. In 1962, Riptide was a member of the Hellfire Club. He attacked Division X with Azazel and Sebastian Shaw. Riptide later joined his teammates to fight against the X-Men. During the Cuban Missile Crisis, while Erik Lehnsherr was magnetically pulling Shaw's submarine out of the water, Riptide created a tornado, causing both the X-Jet and the submarine to crash on the beach. He was knocked out twice during the main battle: first when Havok launched his energy beams onto him, and secondly when Erik pulls a piece of the submarine hull out on top of him. After Sebastian Shaw is killed, Riptide joins Magneto's newly formed Brotherhood of Mutants, along with Mystique, Angel and Azazel.
