My thoughts on Fantastic Four: ROTSS...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO PRISCILLA KWA, YONGDA AND HUIQI

I went to watch Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer with a few old friends at Cathay Cineplex today... it was a lot better and more polished than the first one. And it's not just bcos the girl (named Sara) at the ticket booth was as cute as Jessica Alba (blushes)

What I like abt the film...
1) The plot was definitely better than the first one. Great combo of action and comedy as always. Plus, more CGI moments
2) The improved chemistry among the Fantastic Four. And more screentime for Alicia Masters, Ben's girlfriend
3) Victor Von Doom being freed from his frozen state after the Surfer zips past Latveria... and later regaining his handsome, organic features after being hit by the Surfer's cosmic rays. And his new attire stays true to his original comic version
4) Johnny absorbing all his teammates' powers before the final showdown against Dr Doom, making him similar to Super Skrull
5) the Silver Surfer creating lots of disruptions upon his arrival on earth... now I know why he created those craters on the surface of different countries
6) Marvel creator Stan Lee's cameo as himself being rejected from Reed's and Sue's wedding
7) The FantastiCar was of great help when pursuing Dr Doom in his new transport
8) Frankie Raye!! Her lips were sexier than Jessica Alba's... and she looked very chioh at the end of the film. With her hair down, she looked a lot like that cutie pie Maria Kanellis from WWE Raw

What I dont like...
1) at 90 minutes, the film seemed too short and a little rushed. I was expecting it to be abt 120 mins. On the bright side of things, this film wasn't as rushed as X-Men 3... which was waaaay more rushed and more confusing.
2) when General Hager kept yelling at Reed and team to follow his orders... turns out that they were actually old schoolmates who were never in good terms even til now. I was sniggering a little after Dr Doom disintegrated Hager with his powered up electro-beams (doubled with the power of the surfboard). That would teach that stone-faced ape to shut his trap and eat humble pie!
3) not much action for the Surfer... but then without his surfboard, what more can he do? I hope there will be a spin-off film on Norrin Radd's origins
4) Galactus was an omnipotent humanoid entity in the comics known to devour planets in order to make way for a new universe (a concept similar to the Matrix trilogy)... he does make an appearance in the film alright, and yet all the crew of Fan Four 2 can do is turn into a COSMIC CLOUD???? Heck, I cant even see his face at all!!!

Overall, I rate this film 7.5 out of 10... in spite of a few flaws, it's still worth the watch, and u wont be too disappointed :-)
