Film making seminar and new show on Channel 8

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO SAN YOW, JESSICA, PAT AND JODONG

There wasn't much lesson yesterday... just a DVP theory lesson from 1030 to 1100 hrs, and a film-making workshop session as part of Canon HD Film Fest from 12.15 to 5.15 pm. At first I thought the workshop was going to be quite dull (esp after a short film titled "Lonely Sky" was shown), but after some time I found it to be quite interesting. The fun part was when we gathered in groups of 6 or 7 and came up wif a storyline based on any one of the following themes...

  1. the protagonist rummaging through his/her bag looking for something, and breaking into a cold sweat

  2. the protagonist touching up in the restroom, when he/she hears a noise from a cubicle... he/she goes on to investigate

  3. the protagonist and his/her friend find an unconscious person and that person gives them a warning before passing out

  4. the protagonist sees something that catches his/her eye

At first me and 5 more members thought of doing Theme 2, but at the last minute we decided to do Theme 4 instead. Ami was the director and Zaki was the cameraman. I played the 'stalker', while Kim, Izzati and Ayu played the 3 friends who were being followed thru the course of 3 minutes. The stalker turned out to be quite harmless in the end (some handphone salesman actually)... the short film ended off in a rather LOL moment. The other group from our class made a film based on Theme 2, except that it was more like a music video (and very funny too!). We edited the film footage and finalised the final product by 5 pm. After which we took back some freebies and received our certificates for completing thr 5 hr Basic Film Making Workshop.

Today, I continued on the PNP folio, and it seems like I can start on the scanning of the characters anytime, after discussing the concept wif Mr Kelvin. Yet when it was time for lunch break, I was greatly frustrated by the lack of space in my locker due to something that does not belong to me (more on that in the NEXT POST). Still, I went for Mr Mansor's lesson as well as Mr Syed's lesson... then headed home for dinner and to watch "Man Of The House" Episode 18 and a new variety show titled "The Princesses and The Dude". The main host aka the 'dude' is Bryan Wong, and the first guest princess is the cutesy-voiced Jeanette Aw (who last acted in "Dear Dear Son In Law"), and I got a little weak inside throughout the next 30 mins. Wonder if I can get any info on the filming locations for Episodes 5 and 6... HA yeah right, I'm not even a stalker! :-X
