Recent WWE highlights

Happy Birthday to Iceberg and Serene Lim

Since I am rather busy with work for the time being and can't seem to think of anything else to share, I guess I'll put in the latest WWE updates...

The first name in the 2009 Hall of Fame is a beer-drinking, bird-flipping, vulgarity-spewing former WWE Champion, who rose to popularity after winning the 1996 King Of The Ring tournament... you certainly know who that is. ;-)

As we had seen last Friday on Smackdown, Triple H had been punished for insulting Vickie Guerrero over the "nude pictures" by being placed in "Three Stages of Hell". He beat John Morrison in a Table Match, then he defeated The Miz with a Pedigree in a Handicap Match after the Chick Magnet's partner Chavo Guerrero abandoned him at the last minute. To round off the night, The Game had to face Big Show in a Last Man Standing Match... which he lost after the World's Largest Athlete knocked him out with a hard right fist to the jaw.

Chris Jericho got fired by Stephanie McMahon for refusing to compete in a scheduled match and for daring to challenge her position... who would have thought Y2J would be given the sack by the woman he once called a "dirty, filthy, disgusting, bottom-feeding, trash-bag ho"? So long, Jericho... we certainly won't be missing you! :-)

Ever since winning the tournament for No 1 contender for the Intercontinental Championship, CM Punk had the opportunity to face reigning champ William Regal, which he did last week on Raw, only to end up winning the match by disqualification. A rematch took place earlier this week, and this time it was Regal who won by DQ. Steph McMahon then made things fair by setting another rematch between Punk and Regal for next week... making it a No DQ match.

Just weeks after we saw a new Diva's Champion being crowned, another championship has recently changed hands... and boy was it truly disappointing and shocking. All I can say is that the title change took place on ECW... but I'm sure many people wouldn't even be bothered by what's happening in ECW. Truth be told, I don't watch ECW as regularly as Raw or Smackdown, esp since each episode is only abt 50 minutes long.

Royal Rumble is coming in less than 2 weeks, and so far about 13 names have been confirmed (originally 14 prior to Jericho's "firing"). I'm still trying to predict who will win the Rumble...
