Travel event at Suntec Convention Day 1

Happy Birthday to Ong Ai Leng

The first day at the Travel Fiesta event was quite a crazy one. The first thing that happened was that I bumped into Khai soon after I entered Suntec Hall 601 at abt 1.30 pm. Basically, he wanted to interview several guests on their thoughts about the Travel Fiesta event, and I agreed to volunteer. Quite nervous doing it, but the short scene was done in about a minute. I felt kinda unnatural when being filmed face-on...

Pictures of the different tour agencies involved. The double decker tour bus looks kinda spooky in the inside.
Programme listing for the event

Anyway, I went to the place firstly to watch Huang Wenyong and Pan Lingling voice their thoughts on overseas travel. They were last seen playing Dawn's parents in the recently concluded "Crime Busters X2". Wenyong sang about 2 songs, Lingling sang one, and they ended off by singing a duet. I couldnt get Lingling's autograph due to the overwhelming crowd, and the fact that they both got escorted out. But thats alright really...

Oh, and there were also the 5 adorable mascots of the Beijing Olympics... you can see that the red one is missing a glove.

Not to forget a very cute penguin macot for Five Star Tours. :-)

Seeing that the next celeb performance would only be at 6.30 pm, I decided to loiter around Suntec City... and then I decided to go to Marina Square. And guess what, I saw Xiang Yun and her daughter (along with security)! It was the first time I saw Xiang Yun in her new svelte figure. I quickly went to look at the programme chart, and I was going XUETE cos her segment started at 4 pm, and had just ended at the time I arrived at the central podium! Anyway, I went around taking pictures of the Women's Day exhibits, including the standess of the slim Xiang Yun and other artistes' pics. I then headed back to Suntec Convention sometime before 6 pm.

When I got there, I saw Valerie and her mum, as well as Shanwei and Hoetian. And I took pic with Wu Luoyi... I knew beforehand that we had met before at Kaki Bukit Driving Center some 6 years ago (really, Im not making this up!!). So good to talk to him again after so long... :-)

And err... I saw a familiar-looking abomination. I'm not referring to MKP or that Hutt named Alvin, but another one whom I had not seen for months... THAT HAO LIAN FREAK AND HIS BROTHER!!! Those two are real retards... stay tuned for an upcoming entry on them. :-(

At 6.35 pm, Ping Hui got on stage and talked aout his latest project, as well as the countries he had been to for filming (be it drama or documentary). He then sang "Lu", theme song for "Huang Jin Lu" and an English original which he wrote for a close firend who decided to regain his life after a near-death experience from drug overdose.

After his performance ended at 7.10 pm (way before the 1-hr mark!!), several fans went to take picture with him... myself included :-)

Then we waited til abt 8 pm for Diya to come. She sang 2 Chinse songs, and an English one too.

As yep, I was one of the fans who managed to take picture with her.

Me, Shanwei, Valerie and Auntie Irene (Val's mum) then went for dinner at Marina Square foodcourt...

Guess who we met there!! Kang Jia Xi :-O

After dinner, we took separate trains... me and Shanwei to the East Coast and Val with her mum to West Coast. I went to Changi Airport to meet up with Tris, and we fetched Mother back from T1 Arrival Hall at 11 plus.

We barely 'made it out alive' due to overwhelming crowd.

Stay tuned for Part 2 of the Travel Fiesta event ;-)
