My thoughts on Glenn and Jamie's breakup

As most of you know by now, Class 95 deejay Glenn Ong had announced live on Friday morning (ironically, the eve of Valentine's Day) that he and his wife of 4 years Jamie Yeo have split up. That came as a big surprise to evernyone, from MediaCorp artistes to radio listeners. Even I myself did not see that coming. While I cannot give too much comment on the reason behind this, I feel it's mostly because their personality differences and goals have been too great for them to handle (possibly due to the slight age gap?). May we wish them the best...

I understand too well that break-ups are very common nowadays, but the main question to consider is, why do such things have to happen? This is probably a main reason why I have zero experience in relationships even til now (but I admit I do have plenty of crushes)... it's not that I am afraid of commitment or what, it's mostly bcos I have yet to find the right girl (or rather, I am not really mentally prepared to take it to the next level).

On a side note, Fann Wong had been blasted by some critics for choosing work commitment over going to Malacca to pay her final respects to her future father-in-law who had just passed on, when he entire family (parents and siblings) had already done so. Later we found out that it was Chris who prohibited Fann from going over to Malacca, not the crew of The Ultimatum as initially perceived; Chris personally did not want her to trouble herself by driving in the middle of the night. I have this feeling that their relationship may not last long... given the high publicity and pressure upon them. (Chris and Fann fans, please don't hantam me ah!)

I dedicate this song to Glenn and Jamie, as well as to any couple out there who are struggling to keep their relationship/marriage stable...

You've Lost That Loving Feeling
Original version by The Righteous Brothers
Ramake by Westlife

You never close your eyes anymore when I kiss your lips
And there's no tenderness like before in your fingertips
You're trying hard not to show it (baby)
But baby, baby I know it...

You've lost that lovin' feeling
Whoa, that lovin' feeling
You've lost that lovin' feeling
Now it's gone... gone... gone... wooooah

Now there's no welcome look in your eyes when I reach for you
And now your're starting to critisize little things I do
It makes me just feel like crying (baby)
'Cause baby, something in you is dying

You lost that lovin' feeling
Whoa, that lovin' feeling
You've lost that lovin' feeling
Now it's gone... gone... gone...wooooah

Baby, baby, I get down on my knees for you
If you would only love me like you used to do, yeah
We had a love... a love... a love you don't find everyday
So don't... don't... don't... don't let it slip away
Baby (baby), baby (baby!)
I beg of you please (please)... please (please!)
I need your love (I need your love)
I need your love! (I need your love!)
So bring it on back (So bring it on back)
Bring it on back! (so bring it on back!)

Bring back that lovin' feeling
Whoa, that lovin' feeling
Bring back that lovin' feeling
'Cause it's gone... gone... gone
and I can't go on, noooo
