Vanness at Orchard Cineleisure

Happy Birthday to Gary Huang and Eunice
As stated earlier, I went to Orchard Cineleisure to see Vanness Wu during the evening. He was on stage for only 5 minutes, cos he had to go inside the cinema to watch "Kung Fu Chefs". Still, every second of seeing him in the flesh was worthwhile. :-)

This was how it went... I left the house rather late, took train to Orchard area, and had early dinner. I did a bit of recce-ing around some places, then headed to Orchard Cineleisure at 6 pm (yes, i know I'm quite kiasu). Much to my surprise, the basement wasn't very full at all, got about 20 fans there. I bet you if it were Jerry Yan or Vic Zhou, the response confirm will be even wilder (cos Jerry anc Vic are the more popular of the F4 members). By 7 pm, there were about 50 fans at basement level, with a decent number of people watching from 1st and 2nd level.

I did spot Chen Hanwei at one point... he went to book ticket for some film, then went to draw money and buy some fruits at nearby food court. I nearly wanted to go up to him and congratulate him for being nominated for Best Actor for his role as Chen Bufan in "By My Side", but refrained from doing so. In due respect to Hanwei's privacy, I shan't upload any of the pics I secretly took of him, but I can provide an illustration of what he looked like (pardon my horrible drawing via Paint tool).

The emcee from 100.3 FM (I think) went on stage to start the event, he asked the fans questions on the film, and he then selected 5 Vanness fans on stage to play some game... to pose in the same way as the stick figure in 3 different diagrams. Each of the fans got a white umbrella as prize.

Finally, Vanness graced the stage, most obvious feature is that he was clean-shaven!! Hurray, no more mustache and goatee!! :-) I noticed that his ears stick out a little. I personally prefer him with short hair, but oh well. Vanness talked a bit on the film, and said that his next stop after Dragonfly would be Australia. He spoke in a mixture of English and Chinese (he's an Amercian-born Chinese, duh). Only F4 Fanclub presented him with some blue colored box and a bouquet of flowers, before Vanness went through back door to enter the cinema to watch special preview of "Kung Fu Chefs". Only those fans who won tickets from the Kung Fu Chefs contest sponsored by 100.3 FM were allowed to watch the special preview. I headed home after a bit of exploration around Orchard Cineleisure, reaching home in time to watch another episode of "The Dream Catchers".
