I read Straits Times Life yesterday, main story features an interview with Rui En. For the first time ever, she reveals the full details on her unhappy childhood stemming from her parents' tumultous relationship and eventual divorce which caused her to develop an inferiority complex, as well as force her to 'grow up fast'. It is because of her parent's incompatibility that she is too scared to get into another relationship even today, for fear that she would get hurt. We can relate to many of the things she's gone through.

I gotta admit I admire Rui En's courage to reveal the most lucid details of her complicated life, something she had never done before since she joined showbiz. It wasn't easy for her to find peace with herself after a long battle with her inner demons. It seems like she and I have another thing in common other than our love for cats: we both like to do things alone most of the time.

Rui En, ll along you had earned my respect and admiration for your courage and strong will. You are indeed the inspiration of many, not just the fans who have listedned to your songs or watched your shows. Take heart that we will still be by your side and accept you for who you are right now, not judge you based on your past.

Presevere all the way and face each challenge with a faithful heart... God has been watching over you since the beginning, and He will never forsake you. Make your choices true to your heart and not let yourself live in regret again.
